Touring the Back Country of Canyonlands and Arches was so worth it
We chose to visit Moab in late February. Unfortunately, most places were not open for the season yet. One place that was open was Navtech. And, Boy Howdy, are we glad they were. We did not we'd be that interested in a full day back country 4x4 tour, one half in Canyonlands and one half in Arches. We did not think we were the type to enjoy the (occasionally very) rough road touring through the back country of the parks. We were WRONG, it was GREAT! We are so glad that Navtech was the place open and the tour we got from them. There is a wonder in seeing things in the back country that only probably 3% of people who visit the park see. So our, oh well I guess we'll do that, became Oh my goodness, I am so glad we did that.

Amazing Expedition of Arches and Canyonlands!!!
There are not enough positive words to say about our experience with Navtec. Our guide, Marcia, was beyond knowledgeable about the area and was so amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier person to show us the ins and outs of the area. we saw so many amazing sites and our guide really took her time and allowed us to explore the area and showed us all of the things that are off of the beaten tourist path. She gave us so many ideas for the next time we come back for things we want to do and see. There were so many more things that I could say about our experience, but I will just leave it at excellent, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly, highly recommend!! And if you have the chance to request Marcia, you won’t regret it!

        Not quite what we expected
Our guide was rather abrupt. For example, when we got in the Jeep and asked why some rocks in the area were green, he said, "What do you mean, I only see red rocks." We mentioned we'd seen green rocks at Upheaval Dome. He just shrugged. We asked how much of the back area of Arches we'd see, mentioning that we'd done some of the more famous sights already. He said that there were only two areas that we hadn't seen ... anyway, we bailed.I'm sure much of it was spectacular. We just felt that we'd wanted to learn more about geology and history along with seeing plenty of sights that most people didn't get to see, so maybe we were on the wrong tour, our bad. I imagine that like most tours, different guides offer different experiences. But Arches is fantastic and based on most of the reviews, this tour is pleasing to most people.

Probably the most incredible views. The sunsets, sunrises, the gorgeous terrain. A must. We were there for days and it does not get old. The colors of everything around are just amazing.

        Wow! What a great day!
Fantastic experience. Ron was our tour guide and went the distance to create a great day. Can't thank him enough. My advice, bottom line: Just do it. Pull the trigger and sign up. You'll be glad for it. I was traveling through with limited time in the Moab area so decided to rely on a tour to get the best experience for both Arches and Canyonlands. I would not have seen the incredible places Ron took us without being on that tour. All the tour guides do their best to provide great experiences. The full day tour that I purchased provides lunch, plenty of water refills and lots of good snacks. To have someone else do the driving and show you around while you focus on the sights and take all the pictures your camera can manage. Wear good walking/trail shoes, a hat, and bring your personal water bottle for refills.

This was an amazing tour. Mike was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the way the formations were created. So friendly and did a great job! It was a unique way to see the Arches and we're so glad we did it! Highly recommend!!

Incredible Day on the White Rim Road!!
My wife and I did this expedition in late October of 2024 and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, everything was perfect. I initially considered renting a 4x4 and driving the road myself. After taking the tour, I'm glad I let the professionals handle it. If you are not an experienced off-road driver, don't do it. Spend your time enjoying the ride and taking in the sights instead. Our guide Seth was friendly, a responsible and highly capable driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, a great conversationalist, and more than willing to take as many photos as we might request (hint: It was more than a few!). You will see so much on this tour and the day will just blow by. Some examples: 1. Petroglyphs 2. Jug Handle Arch 3. Thelma & Louise Point 4. Musselman Arch 5. Lathrop Canyon 6. White Rim Road 7. Shafer Trail Road There is SO much to see here, and all of it is beautiful. We took literally hundreds of photos. We even got lucky enough to run into a small group of Bighorn Sheep grazing just beside the road. Even the lunch was fantastic. We had a chicken wrap, which was cold and delicious, along with fruit and a small dessert, next to the Colorado River in Lathrop Canyon. Navtec is very mindful of safety and the needs of passengers. There were plenty of bathroom breaks, and snacks and water were readily available at all times. Our guide Seth was trained in remote medical emergency procedures, and the 4x4 was equipped with spare tire, medical kit and other emergency supplies should we need them (we didn't). We wrapped up the day with a drive up the Shafer Trail Road. You can see this road from the top down at the Canyonlands visitor center. It was a completely different experience driving up it. This tour was unquestionably a highlight of our trip to Arches and Canyonlands (and we had a LOT of great experiences). Navtec was highly professional and our guide Seth was exceptional. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Mike

        Mike was awesome!!!
We had an incredible experience with Mike as our canyoneering guide! He was fantastic with our 6-year-old daughter, making her feel safe and excited throughout the adventure. His wealth of knowledge about the area added depth to the experience, and he was always focused on safety while ensuring we had a blast. Mike's fun personality made the day unforgettable for our family. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to explore canyoneering!

Great guide and great hidden views
We didn't know what to expect and it was AWESOME! Our diver and guide Andy was great! Very very knowledgeable about everything and had some really good BAD jokes. We were able to see some places that the average park goes doest get to see and the trail were full of exiting obstacles. If you want some real 4x4 experience and see some beautiful country highly recommend this company company. Want to come back and do Canyon Lands with them!

From the hotel pickup to putting in the Colorado to drop off, the staff was professional, knowledgeable and the terrain was breathtaking. This time of year water levels are low and the trip is not challenging. Our guide did the majority of rowing and managing the boat. Highly recommend this tour for a four-hour water-based tour of the local terrain.

Took our family of five (with three teenagers) on this half day rafting trip. It was a blast. Bridger was our guide and he is a bundle of joyful energy and adventure. He kept us laughing and was also very informative and reassuring for those of us with hesitations about rafting (it’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me). The teens jumped in to swim and the parents did not. We all enjoyed both the calm parts and the four rapids. Even for the scaredy cat of the group (again, me) the rapids were the most fun. I never felt like I was going to fall out. I hung onto the cord and leaned in toward the center and all was well. Very fun day, highly recommend.

Our guide Warren and driver were energetic and fun. Warren shared information, facts and stories about the area as we drove to the put in point. This was a good experience for new-to-rafting or those seeking a float trip with a few decent rapids. The scenery was beautiful, and there were opportunities to jump in for a brief swim by the raft which was great! The raft we were on was all done by the guide with 2 oars- There was a paddle raft for those that wanted that experience and inflatable kayaks as well. The river was pretty calm and we weren’t able to find options that are “wilder” for a half day. paddles not needed. We couldn’t locate anything 1/2 day that was ‘wilder’ in this area. Warren kept our trip fun and engaging for the kids. All in all, a great time for our family.

Lance, Mike and Greg were so awesome!! They really did provide a pretty epic picnic lunch, and prepared chicken Caesar wraps and fruit salad and so much for us before the excursion. On the water we got to jump in the calm parts, which was honestly a spiritual experience floating in the Colorado river. Very cold but you got used to it fast, it had to have added years to my life!

Lance had great information and had us singing sea shanties whenever we got to a tough spot in the river. It was such a wonderful experience working together with our raft mates to row. My husband and I have never rafted before and would highly recommend this. Make sure you bring tips for your wonderful guides because they deserve it!!

My one piece of advice is to try not to have anything with a strict time planned later on in the day if you go on this trip, the timing can vary but it was a perfect birthday experience for me since we didn’t have anything else planned so could easily go with the flow.

Danny was a great guide who kept us interested and engaged throughout the whole trip. She has a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about the whole area and the geography/geology behind it. Even though it got a little bit windy and cold, she knew what to do and kept a huge smile on the whole time. Everyone enjoyed themselves and no one felt unsafe, which was a huge plus for how low cost it was. I highly recommend doing this! We want to come back when the water levels are higher for another experience and do the 4x4. Overall, great experience with beautiful views.

In addition, they got a guy named Grumpy Greg from Jersey... He was totally right about his food reviews. If you are hungry, ask him what to eat.

What a fun day rafting down the Colorado River! Our river guide Warren was fantastic. He was very re-assuring to us through the rapids and also shred several great tidbits of knowledge about the River and surrounding sights. The river was somewhat tame and it was 98 degrees so very hot. However,we jumped in an swam and the water felt fantastic.

We expected for this tour to have more rapids and be much more active (as we experienced on the Arkansas River), but we generally floated and hit three small rapids that got the kids wet. Raft was powered/directed by our guide; he was knowledgeable, friendly, and a great guide. The views were incredible as well.

If you are looking for a more active trip down the river, you may want to consider a different tour. If you are looking to enjoy the scenery and get a little we, this would fit the bill!

We also recommend getting to their parking lot early; there is very limited parking.

The raft trip was just what I was hoping for. The river was on the low side so it was a great experience for a beginner trip. Carter was a fantastic guide and worked his butt of getting us down the river into the wind. He still had the strength to banter with us, tell some great stories and history of the place and make sure we got a little wet!

We were in Moab and did our 1. Rafting tour on the Colorado River booked. Claim level "2" ;-), the Colorado River has a low water level in September, so the tour was very soft & easy, no problem for families with children. We were 8 people nice troop and nice guide “Carter” from the operator “Navtec” The tour itself on the river lasted about 2 hours (with pickup hotel, check-in, drive to the river and back about 4.5 hours) On request we also received something to drink. The lunch buffet, which should be included in the half-day and full-day tour, unfortunately did not exist. But we really liked the tour.
