        Not quite what we expected
Our guide was rather abrupt. For example, when we got in the Jeep and asked why some rocks in the area were green, he said, "What do you mean, I only see red rocks." We mentioned we'd seen green rocks at Upheaval Dome. He just shrugged. We asked how much of the back area of Arches we'd see, mentioning that we'd done some of the more famous sights already. He said that there were only two areas that we hadn't seen ... anyway, we bailed.I'm sure much of it was spectacular. We just felt that we'd wanted to learn more about geology and history along with seeing plenty of sights that most people didn't get to see, so maybe we were on the wrong tour, our bad. I imagine that like most tours, different guides offer different experiences. But Arches is fantastic and based on most of the reviews, this tour is pleasing to most people.

Has to be on your bucket list
Probably the most incredible views. The sunsets, sunrises, the gorgeous terrain. A must. We were there for days and it does not get old. The colors of everything around are just amazing.

        Wow! What a great day!
Fantastic experience. Ron was our tour guide and went the distance to create a great day. Can't thank him enough. My advice, bottom line: Just do it. Pull the trigger and sign up. You'll be glad for it. I was traveling through with limited time in the Moab area so decided to rely on a tour to get the best experience for both Arches and Canyonlands. I would not have seen the incredible places Ron took us without being on that tour. All the tour guides do their best to provide great experiences. The full day tour that I purchased provides lunch, plenty of water refills and lots of good snacks. To have someone else do the driving and show you around while you focus on the sights and take all the pictures your camera can manage. Wear good walking/trail shoes, a hat, and bring your personal water bottle for refills.

Great way to see the Arches. Wonderful guide!
This was an amazing tour. Mike was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the way the formations were created. So friendly and did a great job! It was a unique way to see the Arches and we're so glad we did it! Highly recommend!!

Incredible Day on the White Rim Road!!
My wife and I did this expedition in late October of 2024 and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, everything was perfect. I initially considered renting a 4x4 and driving the road myself. After taking the tour, I'm glad I let the professionals handle it. If you are not an experienced off-road driver, don't do it. Spend your time enjoying the ride and taking in the sights instead. Our guide Seth was friendly, a responsible and highly capable driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, a great conversationalist, and more than willing to take as many photos as we might request (hint: It was more than a few!). You will see so much on this tour and the day will just blow by. Some examples: 1. Petroglyphs 2. Jug Handle Arch 3. Thelma & Louise Point 4. Musselman Arch 5. Lathrop Canyon 6. White Rim Road 7. Shafer Trail Road There is SO much to see here, and all of it is beautiful. We took literally hundreds of photos. We even got lucky enough to run into a small group of Bighorn Sheep grazing just beside the road. Even the lunch was fantastic. We had a chicken wrap, which was cold and delicious, along with fruit and a small dessert, next to the Colorado River in Lathrop Canyon. Navtec is very mindful of safety and the needs of passengers. There were plenty of bathroom breaks, and snacks and water were readily available at all times. Our guide Seth was trained in remote medical emergency procedures, and the 4x4 was equipped with spare tire, medical kit and other emergency supplies should we need them (we didn't). We wrapped up the day with a drive up the Shafer Trail Road. You can see this road from the top down at the Canyonlands visitor center. It was a completely different experience driving up it. This tour was unquestionably a highlight of our trip to Arches and Canyonlands (and we had a LOT of great experiences). Navtec was highly professional and our guide Seth was exceptional. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Mike

        Mike was awesome!!!
We had an incredible experience with Mike as our canyoneering guide! He was fantastic with our 6-year-old daughter, making her feel safe and excited throughout the adventure. His wealth of knowledge about the area added depth to the experience, and he was always focused on safety while ensuring we had a blast. Mike's fun personality made the day unforgettable for our family. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to explore canyoneering!

Great guide and great hidden views
We didn't know what to expect and it was AWESOME! Our diver and guide Andy was great! Very very knowledgeable about everything and had some really good BAD jokes. We were able to see some places that the average park goes doest get to see and the trail were full of exiting obstacles. If you want some real 4x4 experience and see some beautiful country highly recommend this company company. Want to come back and do Canyon Lands with them!

breathtaking. Go early to avoid crowds
Excellent, magnificent sites even mid October the only way to see this park is if you are at the entrance by 6 am in the dark so you can actually get in without waiting in a really long line up even with a booked spot. You can enter the park before 7 and after 4 without a booked spot. This is very expansive park and most of the arches are a fair hike in so be warned. there were a couple along the road but the scenery on the drive around the park was one spectacular view after another. This is a must see attraction

        Awesome new vistas
We had gone to Island in the Sky with an audio tour the day before. This was even better. Driving into the back country over insanely rough roads opened up a vast wilderness of rock formations and grasslands we could never have seen on our own. Charlotte, our guide, was a great driver and a fount of information on geology, flora and fauna.

        Great trip through Canyonlands!
Excellent tour with Seth! Off road trip to places we would never have seen on our own. Seth was very knowledgeable and told us all about the geology, stopped at multiple sites and took photos. Great experience!!

        Awesome Tour!!
We took the Canyonlands half day tour from Moab through Navtec Expeditions on 10/22/24. Our tour group size was 5 and Navtec provided pickup and drop off at our hotel. Our tour guide was Cody. Cody was an excellent tour guide! He was very personable, passionate, and knowledgeable of the history and facts of the Canyonlands area, as he spends personal time there as well as conducting tours. I highly recommend this tour for seeing the Canyonlands, as we took a back country route that provided unique perspective. The scenery was astounding and the overall experience very enjoyable. A memory maker!

        A perfect day in Arches
We spent the day in Arches National Park yesterday and felt we had seen it all. Then after a night of wind and rain we were sure the adventure would be a bust. We're we wrong. With Seth at the helm of his trusty Toyota we bucked up and down dirt roads and splashed and played our way to remote arches, beautiful back county. Gorgeous and no crowds. Seth's extensive knowledge of geography provided layers of insight and opened our minds to how this sacred place was formed.

        Fun, scenic float trip!
The views were amazing and so was our guide, Turner. He was so knowledgeable and made everyone feel comfortable. The trip was about 3 hours, with a stop for lunch which Turner prepared for us. Various sandwiches, chips, drinks and cookies. It was hot so wear a hat, sunscreen & take water. We did get wet but dried off pretty quick. Would highly recommend!

Our river guide, Keith, was extremely knowledgeable about the river and environs. He was very skilled in navigating the rapids and put at ease re the adventure and expectations.
On the shuttle ride back to Moab, he took us on a scenic highway, (Hwy 128), and gave us a very thorough and interesting description of the sights and history of the area.

I can't outdo Lzsch's review of Chantze as the Yo Yo Ma and Tiger Woods of the river, but I can confirm the truth of the statement. Chantze expertly guided our boat through class III and class IV rapids for a fun and exciting day with the family. It was an adrenaline pumping experience, but because of Chantze, we all felt safe and in good hands. He was also very knowledgeable on the history and geology of the river and we learned lots. I was worried about having all the right clothing to stay warm on our 52 degree day in March, but Chantze came prepared with rain pants, jackets and wetsuits for all, so we were well taken care of and comfortable. And lastly, I have to mention the amazing lunch. Not that you rate a rafting trip on the quality of the lunch, but seriously, this was amazing! Freshly prepared and assembled by Chantze on the river, we had fresh greens and chicken in a delicious thai peanut sauce in spinach wraps. The last rafting trip I was on (not with Navtec) we had PB & J - so really a step up.

Travis definitely made this activity for us. If you get a chance to be in his boat, you won't be disappointed. We really, really appreciated his energy and enthusiasm. (We hear he can also frequently be found on the daily if you choose that rafting trip instead.)

Compared to the overall activity duration, the rapids section is relatively short but still heaps of fun, even at the lower water volume. If you go later in the season, be mentally prepared to feel chilly during the ride to the take-out point post the rapids. You can always put something warm in the dry bag and take it out at that point.

In general, more information/short briefings throughout the trip would have been helpful. There was some confusion about what we should be bringing/not bringing with us while we were waiting at the put-in location.

In terms of COVID precautions, they did a great job of monitoring the office, making sure there were only so many people in it and that people were wearing masks. For the most part, people in our van for transport were good about wearing masks during the ride. At the end of the day, though, it IS rafting, so there's only so much that can be done about masks and social distancing...

On the plus side the trip down the Colorado was great - good white water and amazing scenery. The guides were all very knowledgable and entertaining. On the negative side they didn't bother to tell anyone that you have a 1 1/2 hour ride to the put point in a closed, crowded van and the guides only remained masked for the first 15 minutes. We felt very exposed and uncomfortable in the crowed van. And then there was not the crowded van ride from the pickup point back to the office (another hour). If we had known their COVID precautions were so poor we wouldn't have booked or gone on this tour.

We were somewhat concerned about the flow rate in October but that made no difference at all in the trip. Travis & Will not only were experienced, they were enjoyable to hang out with as well. I would reccomend Navtec and their crew anytime. I know we will be visiting again and plan on attempting the Cataract Canyon Run.
      Thanks for a memorable trip!!

The friendliness of the guides and staff. Our guide Jess and Kate were excellent. We were on a boat that were all had to paddle and Jess instructed us about the rapids and what we needed to do. He keep stressing team work and over emphasizing safety and preparing for the worst so no matter what we would be safe. He made it fun and I felt like it was a real adventure w pretty forgo rapids. Some of the biggest is some time. We hit it right w go water and a great team. Holly made a great lunch and was very friendly. Champ, was not our guide but I meet him on the way back. What a guy loaded w knowledge and information. All the staff on the trip appeared to be severing us for the pleasure of doing the experience and certainly not for the money.

However I thought the guidance we got before the trip could have been better organized. The basics were listed but we were confused on how much cloths to bring and what we were going to expect. When we stopped the day before staff was nice but clueless until we passed a little about what we signed up fore. My expectations were not near what we got they were much much better.

We had a lot of fun. Our guide Will was great, so was the other guide Tyler. Both were informative and competent. We were, however, disappointed that we had requested a paddle raft and weren’t notified ahead of time that one wasn’t available. Also the van transporting us was packed which surprised us during this time of social distancing during the covid-19 pandemic. It would have been nice if the info posted on the website or sent prior would have addressed the Covid-19 precautions they take.

We were lucky enough to experience Westwater Canyon with 2 great guides and several members of the Navtec office staff. We had a lot of fun and good times with great company. Our guide, Lake, was knowledgeable, experienced on the water, fun and entertaining. He commanded the raft and guided us through the rapids like a Rocket Man.

This was an AMAZING experience. Katie was fun and navigated our raft through the rapids with skill. When razor rock sliced open the front of our boat, the Navatec crew quickly found a solution to the problem and lashed it together with straps. The canyon was beautiful and the Navtec team was knowledgeable about the different rocks and historical spots in the canyon. I recommend this adventure... be ready to get WET!

Had a great time rafting with the NAVTEC team. Motoring through the calm waters was a great way to save time. On the class 2-4 rapids our guide Katie while small was mighty! Kudos to great guides who even provided an optional lunchtime hike and an excellent gourmet lunch menu. Highly recommend the trip! Hope to comeback and do other outdoor adventures with this team.
