- Dmd12310 contributionsGreat adventure!A friend recommended the Bow and Arrow hike and canyoneering experience. I have to admit I was nervous but booked our family (2 19 year old DD) none of us had done anything like this. The hike was moderate difficulty but great scenery and lots of knowledge by Cage. Adam definitely added some comic relief. They led us thru 4 rappels. Both guides were attentive and supportive of the group. We highly recommend!Written 17 August 2024
- Happiness555416980720 contributionsRafting colorodo riverMy husband and myself done half day rafting trip which was really nice. Guides were super nice kept conversation going within our group knowledgeable of the information she told us. Learned alot from her didn't know before hand which was very interesting. The water was super cold but felt good for the first time rafting was lot fun wished we had had bigger rapids to go thru but that was my for not choosing the right trip. Recommend these people to do tours with alot fun well worth the money and was able to schedule evening before the trip.Written 13 August 2024
- Exploration7764620 contributionsGreat way to beat the heat in Moab!Great way to spend a morning in Moab! From signup and payment to arrival and safety checks, Red River made things seamless. The entire team was super fun and outgoing while clearly being experts on both rafting and the surrounding terrain. They pointed out lots of interesting facts about the incredible landscape and wildlife during the bus ride to/from the river and along the river itself. The atmosphere is incredibly beautiful and our raft guide Emily was a lot of fun, ensuring we all had a safe and memorable time. We've done multiple other trips with this company and they're always first class. Next trip with Red River to ski some pow in Japan!Written 12 August 2024
- kristinmN2216WD0 contributionsGreat excursionGreat day with some hiking in a beautiful area, en route to the rappelling experiences. It was very hot, and the hiking did involve some tricky sections. Could be challenging going for some younger kids. The guide, Cage, was excellent and was able to provide extra help to a younger participant who was anxious. We felt safe.Written 10 August 2024
- Craig K0 contributionsBack againThis was our sixth year in a row that we've come back to Red River. Great adventure. Great thanks to Carl for doing the reservation for Large group of people that kept being added and subtracted. Made it simple. Great shout out to Liz for being such a wonderful River guide. Her knowledge was great. Awesome! Nice shout out to kira. Anybody that looks at the group and says hey. Aren't you the engineers from New Mexico that were here for the great storm of 2022 is a great thing to attest to the fact that they care so much for their customers. - Joao L0 contributionsThe Harder the better experienceFor everyone that did rappel before you should pick a moderate or hard tour I pick easy and it was ok . Is 2 really small rappels and 2 ok but the views are really good and Adam it was a really good guideWritten 9 August 2024
- eavon08100 contributionsMore lazy river than white water raftingThe scenery was amazing but the river was pretty low and we were underwhelmed with the rapids. Still made the best of it enjoying a half day on the water. Savanna was great and kept it fun.Written 8 August 2024
- eavon08100 contributionsHiking and rappelling at Bow and Arch CanyonSo freaking FUN!! First time canyoneering for everyone in our group ages 9 to 50s and we all had a blast. The awesome guide team of Adam and Cage was fantastic. They kept us all laughing but feeling secure. The hike up was moderate and provided great views of the La Sal mountains, dino tracks, Long Bow Arch and petroglyphs. We completed a total of 4 rappels. The first was a great intro on how to lean and shift weight. They only got more exciting after that. Great core memories for our whole family. We would do this again for sure. Highly recommend!Written 8 August 2024
- Travel631989846320 contributionsExiting expirienceVery professional. We booked double sit kayak to have more action. We really enjoyed the nature, swimming in Colorado river and passing all those rapids by our own. Wold do again.Written 5 August 2024
- JulieC64350 contributionsBeautiful scenery - recommendMy 24-year old son and I went on the half day rafting trip. Gorgeous scenery and great crew. Will was our guide and read the people on the boat well. Fun time. Safety was discussed. Only thing I wish I’d known was that we’d only have about 2 hours on the river for the half-day package due to travel time in the bus and the safety briefings. A few rapids but nothing scary. Mostly leisurely float in the boat with a chance to jump in the water a few times.Written 21 July 2024
- 365karrm0 contributionsMagical experienceGreat experience! The area is stunningly beautiful. The trip guides and staff were super. The gear was in great shape. Logistics and lunch were superior. The key was all with the guides and staff; they were excellent at their jobs and focused on safety. However, their attitudes and focus on clients were outstanding.Written 16 July 2024

Charbeau was an exceptional climbing guide! This was our first experience out of the gym and, with Charbeau’s positivity and expert coaching, we exceeded our expectations of ourselves. He exposed us to vertical, slab and crack climbing and taught my son to lead belay. Whatever he believed I was capable of I was able to accomplish, even on routes that I thought were out of reach at first. Charbeau was incredibly accommodating and his coaching made a lasting positive impact on my son. Furthermore, Red River Adventures went above and beyond to make sure this trip happened despite the need to reschedule around spring rain. I have and will recommend Red River to anyone looking for some adventure time in Moab and will definitely connect with them again when we’re ready to take our climbing to the next level.

This was a fantastic mother (over 45)/daughter (11) activity while visiting Moab. Our guide Ty was so skilled that he had these 2 beginners up and down numerous climbs of varying difficulty in just a few hours. Taught us just enough without overwhelming, and provided great support and instruction during each climb. The setting and views were super as well. Beyond happy we hired a guide for this first-time experience- we’re hooked!

Brian was a fantastic guide. I’m new to climbing but he made sure I was safe and had a great time. We ended up doing six routes, two times each for 12 single pitches. Fantastic time in a gorgeous scene. Thanks, Brian!

Amazing half day climbing in Moab with guide Aaron Livingston. He took us to the Wall Street area and setup a bunch of toprope climbs for my girls (10 & 12) and myself in the 5.7-5.9 range that each had distinct climbing (friction, layback crack, chimney). His route selection was challenging and fun and everybody was smoked by the end. Aaron has significant personal and guiding climbing experience and knowledge of the Moab area and was rigorous with respect to safety. I would not hesitate to hire Aaron and Red River Adventures again.

Awesome experience climbing at the Ice Cream Parlor! We booked this trip because each couple had their own guide, so the climbing was tailored to us. It was my first time climbing outside and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Our guide Kenzie was amazing - friendly, fun, safe, and encouraging. She even gave us a restaurant recommendation for dinner that night and it was excellent. We would definitely book with them again in the future. Highly recommend. Thank you for a great day!

Nate and Kelsie took 6 of us novice rock climbers out to Ice Cream Parlor of a morning of rock climbing. We were outfitted with helmets, harnesses and rock climbing shoes. They instructed us on how to harness in, rappel and belaying and off we went. They set up two routes for us and gave advice and encouragement as we climbed up and rappelled down. We were ready for more so they set up two other routes for us. We all had a great time!

We did the half day rock climbing at the ice cream parlor crag. It was a Monday and we basically had the crag to ourselves. Emily was our guide and she was fantastic. She was very professional and personable. Safety was obviously a priority. As far as the climbing it was perfect for us. Emily talked to us at the beginning of the day about our level and We each did 5 different single pitch climbs including slab and crack climbs ranging from easy to challenging for our level of climbing. It was different style of climbing than we were used to and Emily did a great job of giving us instruction and beta throughout the day. Overall, we got exactly what we were wanting from the day. Emily was a fantastic guide. I would recommend Emily and red river to anyone looking to climb in Moab.

We felt we were in good hands with Kenzie. Friendly, supportive and safe. The rocks were beautiful and fun. We were worried that it would be too hot but it was in the shade so it was ok. Thanks!

The local/scenery was nice, but we didn't need to ride a raft to experience it fully. I am guessing a spring trip where there are actually rapids would probably rate higher.

We've been talking this one over and can't figure out a way that you can do a river trip without riding in a raft. I think what 908erina was thinking is that you could just drive through the area adjacent to the river. This is entirely possible as the river parallels scenic Hwy 191. But a river trip allows one to experience the place in an entirely different way. A way which we think might be more immersive and, for lack of a better word, better.
On the river, you float through the scenery, hear the rapids, feel the sun and water on your skin, and possibly catch a glimpse of Bald Eagles or an endangered Desert Bighorn. In a car, you're, in a car!
And yes the rapids are biggest in May and June but they are always there, just smaller in August. Always fun, just different!

Our 17 year old daughter is an indoor rock climber. She's climbed at Garden of the Gods, but that's her only outdoor experience. We would love for her to have a chance to climb while we are in Moab. Is this an experience that we could watch and she could participate in?
