Gothic American Sporting Venue with Fun for All Groups
Yes, this is a sports stadium best experienced in a sporting event, namely baseball, but has hosted football, hockey and concerts; however, there is a reason it is number 1 in this historic colonial city. It is a MUST SEE American venue with loads of sporting history, a true American Gothic facility. A relic of a bygone era, before the automobile but after the age of steel, this stadium highlights the days when clustered cities nestled civic venues into specialized local spaces that allow for unique oddities. Bathed in an almost Celtic green, the stadium is easily recognized from any view. It is further distinguished by features like the huge left field wall, known as the "Green Monster" to the triangle shaped outfield bleachers and unique right field corner that has the famous Pesky Pole. This a MUST SEE attraction in Boston whether you like sports or not. While you can see it anytime, the best time to see it is an event and especially a Red Sox game. We made a point to come back to Boston on our New England trip to experience a game. We had right field box seats, very close to the Pesky Pole. The pole which is the shortest distance from home plate in the major leagues at 302 feet is covered in signatures. Here you have great views of the press box, Green Monster and outfield triangle. We were very lucky to experience a quick Red Sox 3-1 victory against the White Sox with a game winning home run over the Green Monster in the home half of the 7th inning. All in all it is an amazing venue with tons of sports and American history that is a fun place to visit for families or couples. One of our group's favorite experiences in Boston.

Beautiful Park for a Game or a Concert
I have been to all 30 MLB stadiums. Fenway Park is obviously a classic baseball stadium. Going to baseball games there is a must for any/all baseball fan(s). I have been to several games there over the years and have loved each and every one. This fall I attended one of the Pearl Jam concerts at Fenway, and it only added to my love of this park. If you go to a concert at Fenway, I highly recommend getting general admission tickets so you can go down on the field. Watching a concert at the foot of the Green Monster is a unique thrill.

    Red Sox
Easy to get to from the centre of Boston on the subway which stops right around the corner. We didn't go in the Park, but we walked all the way around and went in the shop. Not much else around the area but worth the short subway ride to see where the Red Sox play!

    For Baseball Fans
This is where the baseball team plays. It has a classic old fashioned design and is much-loved by ball fans. Located near downtown with very good public transit access. You will probably hear "Sweet Caroline" while here.

Unique way to see the ballpark. Smaller tour sizes would be idea.
Such a unique way to see the Best Ballpark in America. I cannot recall our tour guides name other than he is retired and teaches ski lessons in the winter months but he was excellent, projected his voice and had a lot of fun information. I especially enjoyed seeing the view from the Press Box and from top of the Green Monster. The only recommendation I have is to get there early and fight to be upfront in the walking tour, otherwise you will miss hearing everything. By the time the last people in the tour would arrive to where we were stopped for the view and history the tour guide would be done with his speech. It would be ideal if tour sizes are half of the size for equal opportunity for everyone to see and hear what is being discussed.

Fantastic tour experience. So glad I could fit this into my trip. Loved that we walked around the whole park plus plenty of time to enjoy the museum. Great way to see Fenway and take in this iconic ballpark!

    Still a Fabulous Baseball Experience
I grew up going to Fenway, but now live outside the area and only get there every few years. The changes over the years have only been improvements, and if you love the Sox or just baseball, this place should be on your bucket list. I have been to some other great parks - Wrigley Field, Yankee Stadium, Camden Yards, and Oracle Park (SF) and, while I am a bit biased toward the Red Sox, I do believe the fan experience at Fenway is superior. For example, the concessions under the stands were amazingly fast before and during the game, and there were a lot of vendors in the seats. The food quality was really good for ballpark fare. And the restrooms are clean and huge - no waiting between innings. Although the experience will be amazing anywhere you sit, I suggest you try to sit in the box seat area of the lower level to avoid a slightly obstructed view behind the columns and under the overhang (or sit in the upper level). The Park is an easy walk from hotels in Back Bay and has a T-Stop right nearby. Fenway brings old-time baseball to life, with modern amenities. The sight of the Green Monster and green grass never disappoints. Red Sox fans are devoted, no matter where the Sox are in the standings, and the noise and excitement of the crowds at Fenway is hard to match and something to experience. If you haven't been there yet, go.

“ Must visit if local or Tourist “
Tonight was game night . I was raised in Boston , MA. So I been coming here since now a child . Tonight was no different. Parking on game day is difficult you’ll have to pay from $50-75. Or ride the train in . We had hotdogs and fried dough . We sang “ sweet Caroline “ we had a ball . No pun intended. lol

Fantastic night at Fenway Park! Great crowd and exciting game. The food is ok, but a bit high priced. Ticket prices rising every year.It gets very crowded leaving the game. Lots of new restaurants in the area now. Take The T, Lots of traffic.it’s a good experience.

Had the experience of a lifetime. To be in such an iconic place it was great! No bad seats as it is the oldest stadium so it’s not huge like all of the rest you see. Great architecture, food, atmosphere. I hate hearing it on TV but to experience Sweet Caroline at the end of the 8th with everyone singing and having fun was a true experience.

We went to the Red Sox/Orioles game, and had a nice time. There's lots to see around Fenway, and of course, it's iconic and somewhere everyone should go.

Our tour was in the offseason and the field was under renovation, but that didn't dampen the tour one bit!

The cost of the tour was $21 and it lasted just about 1.5 hours. During the tour, you get to roam the back halls of the stadium, see the visiting teams' locker room, sit in the historic wooden seats, sit in the press box, and sit in the seats on the green monster. The tour is narrated by a passionate tour guide who carries a microphone and speaker in an attempt to ensure that the entire tour group can hear him (this doesn't always work in a large crowd).

A highly recommended tour of the oldest pro ball stadium in the USA!

We had a great tour of Fenway Park with our tour guide, John. He had been to over 400 games there as a lifelong resident of nearby Newton. So, not only did we get to see all around the building, but we learned stuff about the players, the history of the site, the history of baseball and the history of the Red Sox. We got to see the club house, the press box, the general seats, as well as up on the Green Monster! The tour took about 1.5 hours and it was very impressive. While we have been there to games in the past, we hadn't taken the tour. It was well worth the price! It was March and so much work was being done to get the place in shape for the season to begin. There sure is a lot that goes into each and every game but if you're a history/baseball fan, you will love all the displays that really give a ton of information!

Our family just did this tour with our 3 kids (ages 16, 14, and 10) and my mother-in-law. We enjoyed ourselves. I'm not a baseball fan, but I thought it was an interesting tour.

We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved his job and the Red Sox. He said we walked about 1.25 miles throughout the course of the tour. FYI there are lots of steps. There are elevator options too that others were able to use.

There are a lot of people in your tour, but the guide has a portable microphone and speaker, so you can hear. You have access to seats in the stadium from the 1930's that you sit in for part of the tour, you can sit in the seats on top of the Green Monster, you get to see the garden at the stadium, you can walk through the press box and the visitor's dressing room, and end in a room with memorabilia. The tour did not take us on the field (and their season was newly over). There is a large gift shop across the street from the stadium where you can purchase things.

Our tour started at 11am and they had us gather in the gift shop across the road until very close to 11am. Then they snaked us around the gift shop and out and into Fenway (you'll walk through a metal detector and your bag will be checked). They gave everyone time to use the restroom as there were no restroom stops on the tour. By the time we started the actual tour, it was around 11:15-11:20, so the hour tour lasted until about 12:20 for us.

There are restaurants close by if you want to grab lunch after the tour. We took the subway here from our hotel in downtown Boston. FYI, there is a small or clear bag rule that I completely forgot about. I had a big back pack. There is a liquor store about a block away from Fenway that they told me would store my bag during the tour. I ran it down there and they charged $5 to store it behind the counter in a bin and gave me a ticket to use for retrieval. I, of course, took out the items of great value, but the bag was perfectly safe there. Thank goodness that was an option!

Our tickets never said exactly where to meet for the tour. We got off the subway and headed toward Fenway, but nothing looked open on the side that we started on. Luckily we found a nice local person who walked us around the building and showed us where to enter. So, just keep walking around the perimeter of the building until you see the gift shop across the street and you'll see the door open with security there and that's where you enter. You just may have to walk around the entire building to find it.

Ok,about a week after we got home LeBron made his comments about Boston fans and prior to going my sister warned me to be careful due to possible racial issues. I’m black and my husband is white. Things can go a couple of ways for us. Overall we really enjoyed Boston. Got some stares but most people were kind. This incident was our only standout experience.
Let’s get the good said and done. The tour was lots of fun and the older gentleman who led the tour was funny, energetic and mindful of his audience. I highly recommend the tour. Be prepared to walk/ climb stairs.
THAT being said. If you are a person of color leave your bag at home or in the car or be prepared to pay $5 to the park for your purse. Take a look at the current guidelines, it states : “No bags larger than 5x9 allowed with the exceptions of medical or diaper bags” period. There’s nothing else. So imagine the large group about 10 people ahead of us when they were denied entrance for small purse book bags. My husband looked at me and I said no hon, I’m fine. This is clearly a purse …Coach retail purse. Imagine my surprise when I was told that because of my straps I had to either not go or place my purse with their store down the block on my dime! We were traveling, we wanted to do the tour, and some days you just don’t feel like dying on a hill. So we ran to the store a block away, gave them $5 for something we had no forewarning of. I was not a happy camper, but sometimes life just sucks. By the way they don’t measure, have an example there, it’s all subjectively decided by the “jerk” at the door.
THEN we proceeded on the tour. Because we were delayed, we were in the back and I had a lovely view of all these backs with their backpack purses, across the body purses and one huge purse on the shoulder. I’m peeved but again sometimes life sucks.
THEN my husband specifically directed me to tell him who had the offending bags and who had been turned away. I normally pay attention to who is given a pass and who’s not. It completely went over my head until my husband pointed it out. The group ahead of us who had to take about 5 bags to the car to gain entrance were clearly by look and heavy accent Hispanic. The people walking around with their bags still on them were white! 😯
Again, persons of color, take a wristlet or clear it with the subjective possible jerk at the desk that day or risk being denied.

This was our first time being in Boston. My son-in-law is a big Red Sox fan so we found this tour and purchased tickets. The tour was totally worth it. Our guide was funny and told us so much information and history of Fenway Park. We got to sit in the original seats from the 1930s, the Green Monster seats, and also the press box seats and saw the field in so many different ways it was amazing. We also learned they have their own little roof top garden and so many live concerts have been at Fenway Park. I would totally recommend this tour for anyone that is a baseball fan or first time visitors!!!

This tour was part of my son's 10th birthday weekend extravaganza, and he LOVED it. He just got really interested in baseball this past year and it was so exciting for him to learn the history of the park and be able to see the "behind the scenes" aspect of it. Going to the press box was a highlight for him, as was being able to have our picture taken with the World Series trophies **These are NOT always available, they just happened to be out during our tour**. Our tour guide was wonderful, able to add humor where appropriate and was able to be flexible when the concert that was warming up interrupted the tour. He made sure to repeat any information we may have missed during the drum solo. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in baseball OR history, as the history of the park itself is fascinating.

Don't waste your money on this tour, at least not on a game day. Check-in was in the Team Store which was absolute chaos. Wall to wall people pushing and shoving, and then the ballpark tour guides left 15 minutes before the start of the tour even though a bunch of us were still waiting to check in and get wrist bands.
Tours are huge - 50-75+ people each and there were multiple tours. As soon as the tour started, so did batting practice and the music they played was so loud. We were SO disappointed - we could not hear a single word our guide said. We were so looking forward to learning about the ballpark and I am not being dramatic when I tell you we heard zero words this guide said once the music started. He eventually stopped talking all together because 1) it was pointless and 2) people were getting angry that they couldn't hear him.
Got on the field to watch batting practice but the tiny roped-off area was jam packed with people. Too many tours down on the field at once, you could not see anything. Spent way too much time in this area just shoulder to shoulder with other people while not seeing anything that was going on at batting practice because too many people and they were selfish and would not move out of the way to let others see.
Last part was the Green Monster, which was cool to see, but there were multiple tours up there at the same time also and all the seats were taken (as well as standing room). So, we had to take a peak at the seats and the view and then wait at the concourse.
The tour ended exactly at the 60 minute mark and not a minute longer. This was SO disappointing. I have been to other ballpark tours and they were stellar, but this is a huge rip-off. I booked through MLB and they say all sales are final or I would be demanding a refund. Don't waste your time and money, you will be so disappointed like we were!

Well worth the price of the ticket for this historic land mark. Booked on line and collected my ticket from gate D. Tour was split in to a more manageable size and so everyone gets the chance for pictures or questions. You get to see behind the scenes from the away teams changing rooms to the press box. You also get to sit in the oldest seats and then on to the most expensive above the green Minster.
The tour guides are very knowledgeable and use a microphone with portable speaker.

The sport of baseball was practically born and raised here - and the love of baseball seemed to be seeping out the pores of this 110 year old stadium as we toured and then stayed for the game that evening. Loved the stories from our guide - like why is there ONE red seat in the grandstands? Side note on the fans at Fenway that night: I proudly wore MY team's colors all day, knowing the home team Red Sox were playing my Mariners that same evening. Rather than ragging on me, many fans tipped their Red Sox hat to me and thanked me for being there, for the love of the game. Well done BoSox fans! I loved your stadium - you clearly display what it means to you, and it shows.

I am somewhat of a baseball fan (St. Louis Cardinals), and found myself in Boston for a few days, so I thought why not tour Fenway Park? At the beginning of the tour, our guide, Sarah, shared that her goal was to not necessarily make us all Red Sox fans, but to make us fans of Fenway Park. She did that in spades!

We were in a very large group, so I thought it might be difficult for her to manage. Between the mic system she carried and the extra person to help herd us around, it was done very well! Sarah was very friendly and knowledgeable and very impressive with the way she handled a particularly precocious young man; another guide may have lost all his or patience, but not Sarah. In fact, she let him have the spotlight at an appropriate time and that tickled him immensely.

The tour didn't seem rushed at all and we had several opportunities to take LOTS of pictures! We sat in the original wooden seats in the oldest MLB stadium in the country. I only wish I had been in town for the Wild Card game the next night. That would have been icing on the cake!

This was a definite highlight of my first trip to Boston!
