Our guide Tadeo was fantastic! On top of that we were paired with a great couple that made the day even better! Tadeo was full of knowledge about the history of the city, took us to some wonderful eateries that included tacos, quesadillas and to our surprise a place where the Ceasar Salad was discovered (not what you expect) and well worth it. In addition we did a tequila tasting and a margarita/beer stop too. If you want a good day in Tijuana this is a perfect way to spend the day, see the city and do some shopping too. We also found out, each guide puts their own twist to the day and each tour/day is different based on what the guide decides.

As in other reviews, the directions on where to meet up are not clear. Here is our experience. There was no Baja Mex Trolley as stated in Trip Advisor. I contacted the company via the number on Trip Advisor, left a message and Humberto contacted me back. We had to walk across to Mexico on our own and walk the pathway down to Tijuana. Once you exit the pathway, Humberto was there waiting to give us further directions. Parking... We found out the closer to the border you are, the more expensive it it... Like $40-$60 for 10 hours. If you don't mind walking 10-15 min, we found Border Station Parking near the outlets. Its literally on the right as you exit the last US exit. $18 for 10 hours. From there, you walk up the hill and follow the pedestrian bridge to the Border crossing.

All in all a great day and if we plan another trip to Tijuana we will definitely use this company again.

A good sampling of Mexican styles in Tijuana including roadside birria, quesadillas with blue corn tortillas with CDMX influence, fresh churros at the cathedral, and pork adobada. My tour guide, Humberto, made use of his personal compact car to bring the day's group of 3 people total to La Mesa, Tijuana beach promenade, and Avenida Revolución in Tijuana downtown. He mentioned some other groups from the same tour company might take the bus from the border crossing to Tijuana downtown.

The tour included a beer flight at the top of a parking garage with views of the city and a tequila tasting at a bottle shop.

The tour did not include much information about each dish and its preparation, something a foodie audience might seek out. The tour starts on the Tijuana side of the border, after you've walked across the border from San Ysidro. You should also be prepared to wait at least an hour to cross back to the U.S. after your tour.

I had only one day to spend in Tijuana and wanted to see as much as I could as efficiently as possible. Also, I was traveling alone and don't speak the language, so I figured being part of a tour would be my best bet.
Parking at and crossing the border was simple enough. My tour guide, Andres, greeted me at the other side and informed me I'd be the only person on his tour that day. I cringed a little as my expectations of having the safety net of a group were dashed. I was also afraid it would be awkward to be with alone with a stranger for 6+ hours.
Luckily, my fears dissipated quickly. Andres was so warm and friendly; he assured me I'd be safe and the day would be exciting. He was right! He was extremely knowledgeable about Tijuana and seemed to know his way around like the back of his hand. We ventured around downtown, strolled through markets, ate AMAZING tacos, tasted tequila, shopped and took lots of photos. Stops included a popular taco truck, a lovely park, the Tijuana history museum, Our Lady of Guadalupe cathedral, a bar for margaritas, and more.
The highlight of the tour was taking a bus out to Friendship Park where the border wall meets the ocean. The sight itself plus all the artwork along the border was fascinating. This is also the location where you must have you photo taken with the colorful "Tijuana" sign.
Oh, and the fish tacos. I will probably never eat another fish taco again because none will compared to the fish tacos I ate on this tour. DELICIOUS.
Anyway, if it wasn't obvious, I highly recommend this tour if you're wanting to explore Tijuana for the first time. I saw so much more than I expected to in just one day. I genuinely enjoyed Andres' company; the coversation was easy and he taught me so much about the city. I'm inspired to not only return to Tijuana one day but to visit the rest of the country as well. Until then, I'll drink from my souvenir bottle of tequila and dream about those fish tacos.

How is this a 5 star tour? I booked and was informed 8 hours before leaving that the guide wouldn't meet me in the US. Then, when I explained that I am Canadian, he told me that I would have no issue crossing the border, even after it clearly says the border is closed to non-essential non-US citizens. Garbage. Thankfully they gave me a $25 - no refund. I lost $300 on this garbage tour operator. DO NOT GO!!!

My boyfriend and I LOVED this tour from beginning to end. Andres was so friendly and knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to have him to ourselves for the entirety of the trip. Even though it was only my partner and I who booked I appreciated that they did not cancel it and instead just rolled with the punches. We got to experience some amazing food and Andres also took us to different cultural spots like the park, a cathedral, and even the beach! We were able to see the wall which was a surreal and humbling experience and along every step of the way Andres gave us different facts about where we were or what we were looking at. I spent a about a week in California and did a lot of different things and by far this was in my top 3 experiences. Thank you so much to Andres, we felt like we gained a friend in Mexico!!

Picture it, two women in their late 40s, wanting to do a good tour with a little adventure….thinking Tijuana would fit the bill! (Narrator: their families did NOT think this was the best idea)

Enter Gregorio, tour guide extraordinaire! Born and raised in Tijuana, he shared with us the best food, the best stories, and the best insights into the city he loves. We returned with happily full stomachs, apple tequila, and the ability to brag we drank cervezas at the oldest bar in Tijuana.

Absolutely recommended! We felt completely safe, and had an amazing time seeing Tijuana through Gregorio’s eyes

Humberto was an amazing tour guide! He was very friendly and knowledgable about the city. He brought us to local food spots which were all so tasty! We also went to a somewhat hidden local brewery and a free tequila tasting. This was the 2nd tour we did with this company and I was happy he took us in his car to tour the city so we could see more places. The first tour we did was the walking tour and Victor was also great but we were tired by the end of it. We had such a great day and we are going back soon! This is a great tour for those who want to experience the city but aren't 100% comfortable going alone. The city isn't scary like you see in the news and these tours really help to debunk all of the negativity. I also noticed the majority of people spoke English which was super helpful. One thing to note is you will most likely need to walk across the border yourself and meet them on the other side due to COVID. It was super easy. If you go I recommend asking for Humberto!

Humberto was an excellent guide. The tour takes you to places that you would not think about going and you truly get a sense of the atmosphere and vibrant City. We felt very safe and got to experience the culture and learned a ton about Tijuana, the food, and the country. The street tacos we had were very different at each location, yet all of them were delicious. This is a MUST food tour if you are visiting Tijuana.

Humberto was terrific in showing us many different views of Tijuana and picked 3 exceptional spots to have tacos. Each taco was unique so it did not seem repetitive at all. Hard to pick a favorite but the Carne Asada at Tacos El Franc was superb. And we discovered it was featured on the Netflix "Taco Chronicals" show. Humberto also did a wonderful job describing cultural and historical points on the city. Highly recommend this day trip from San Diego! And don't forget to try the Hibiscus water!!

Gregorio, was our tour guide today and he was great and so knowledgeable about Tijuana as he is native! We learned a lot about the culture, saw some great art, and had local eats! Everything was great and he even showed us some awesome beer spots after the tour ended. He went above and beyond and was a pleasure to be with!

One suggestion, we noticed there was another tour that started at 1 pm. Tijuana is a little sleepier in the morning so I would suggest to push this time back a little so you can get the most of the TJ life experience as a lot of the businesses were closed when we were walking around.
