Each tour is lead by an experienced Navajo guide, who is certified by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Dept. and National Park Service. Each and everyone of our guides was born and raised in this Canyon De Chelly area, allowing them to gain a vast knowledge of its history to share with all our guests who visit this place we call home. As well as learning about the canyon's rich history, rock art sites and other archeological sites, you will hear stories and tales of life in the canyon and get a chance to visit our guide's families who still weave, farm, ranch, and continue to live a traditional Navajo lifestyle in this rural part of the southwest. We invite you to join one of our guides on a truly unique and one of a kind tour, and to support this 100% NAVAJO OWNED and OPERATED SMALL BUSINESS!! Tripadvisor is completely at fault
Jun 2021
Tripadvisor booked me on a tour that does not exist. All the tours are closed as of June 13, 2021 and have been closed for a long time. We tried calling the tour provider 6 times on the day of the tour but the phone number Tripadvisor gave us was not working. Now Tripadvisor does not acknowledge the text message and reviews I have submitted asking for a refund.

Tour operators closed for business
May 2021 • Family
All tour operators in Chinle are closed due to covid. I am not sure why trip advisor thinks that its business as usual.

They should stop this practice immediately and not advertise about tour operators.

They will sell you tickets but no tours (?)
Oct 2020
This company took my money back in August for jeep tour tickets in October. As far as I can tell, they are no longer in business due to COVID, so I never went on the tour. All attempts at communicating with them have failed, their phones seem to be disconnected. They never communicated with me to inform me that the tours are cancelled, and they are not cooperating with refunding my money. Their website is still taking payments for tickets and reservations, but NO TOURS as far as I can tell. I had to call hotels in Chinle to get information on this company as far as whether they are running or not. Note that their latest favorable reviews are from February. Buyer beware.

Great Way to See Beautiful Canyon de Chelly
Feb 2020 • Friends
Leander Staley of Beauty Way Jeep Tours was a great tour guide... friendly, knowledgeable, and highly dedicated. In addition to showing us the highlights of the canyon, he shared Navaho traditions and beliefs as well as interesting information about his family and the residents of the canyon. All in all, it was a fun and educational trip and I highly recommend them.

Wanted a Real Navajo, Got One!
Jan 2020
Leander took us on the tour through the Canyon. His stories of his life growing up in the Canyon were great! The history of the Navajo in the Canyon is probably more important than the natural beauty of the Canyon itself! It's an amazing place to see, but the history is fascinating! Much of Navajo and American history of the West was contained in this Canyon-even if you've read about the history, you miss the connection to places in the Canyon without someone like Leander taking you through . . . btw, Leander is the owner of the business that he acquired from his dad!

Beautiful tour with a great guide
Really good tour of Canyon De Chelly with Navajo guide Dave Wilson. Was surprised at all of the petroglyphs and pictographs in the canyon that Dave pointed out. Also quite a few cliff dwellings throughout the area that were very interesting. All that inside a canyon with walls up to six hundred feet high. A lot of history here and a must see if you enjoy the beauty of the Southwest US. Our guide Dave grew up in the area and is very knowledgeable of the canyon and has a great sense of humor.

Excellent tour with a Navajo guide
Jan 2020
My husband and I signed up for the group tour of Canyon De Chelly, but because we were in Chinle during off season this past week, we ended up getting a private tour. Our tour guide was Leander Staley, the owner of Beauty Way Jeep Tours, a local family owned and operated business. He is a Navajo that grew up in the canyon and told us interesting stories of Navajo culture as well as educating us on the history of the canyon showing us ancient rock art, petroglyphs, cliff dwellings and told us about the folks who still live in the canyon. I highly recommend Beauty Way Jeep Tours for this fabulous tour. I think we got so much more out of the trip because of Leander's background. Definitely a must do for Canyon De Chelly!

Amazing Experience, A Must Do at Canyon De Chelly
Dec 2019
At the end of December, a couple days before our reserved tour, it snowed in the area and we were worried about the road to Chinle, also about the cold weather. I called Beauty Way and was ensured that they have normal car for us instead of the open jeep, and that the snow actually added color to the canyon. I am glad my family of four made to Chinle and the tour with the owner Leander (i hope I spelled his name right) was a great experience and an unique opportunity to learn about Navajo people's history and culture first hand. Leander grew up in the canyon and owned a land in the canyon. He brought the canyon to life with wealth knowledge of the tribe history and personal stories. We stopped at many petraglyphy and cliff dwelling sites. The entire trip he did not stop telling us something and answered many of our questions. There is no way we look at the canyon the same way after the tour. It's not only a natural wonder, but full of life and emotion. As we further our trip towards New Mexico we spent more time to learn about Native American history and culture, thanks to the inspiration from Beaty Way Jeep. Highly recommend.
I'd also like to point out that winter time is actually a good time to visit the canyon since there are few people, the rate for the tour lower too.

Great tour with Beauty Way
Nov 2019
Beauty Way tour guides were local Navajo guides who had a great deal of knowledge about the history of the canyon. They drove us in SUVs that were enclosed, which was a big benefit in the deep dust of the canyon. They pointed out petroglyphs and cliff dwellings throughout the canyon, and also told how the Navajo fended off attemtped roundups by soldiers who were sending Native Americans on the Long Walk. We were out for about three hours and it was wonderful.

Interesting canyon
Nov 2019
It was interesting to get to ride around the bottom of Canyon de Chelly and hear stories about the people who lived there. We were disappointed with our guide Dave, who although he knew a lot about the area, having grown up nearby, did not answer questions we asked, instead always reverting to canned comments and unfunny jokes. He barely touched on the geologic history of the canyon, which we were looking forward to learning more about. Maybe our expectations were too high after other tours we've taken this year of various attractions around the country, where the tour guides were top notch. Based on other reviews, it sounds like we just got unlucky with our tour guide.
