Guide was professional, friendly and knowledgeable and I enjoyed the tour. Didn’t get what I paid for though as I was told when travelling down to DC on the tour bus that the Space Museum was not open and therefore we were not going to visit. Nothing was detailed regarding this via any communication from the tour company. In fact the tour is still advertised as visiting the Space Museum as well as it being on the itinerary. Would of been reasonable if the cancellation was because of a sudden closure due to unforeseen events but evidently the museum has only been open on certain days of the week for a while.

Thank you for your feedback, we're glad that you enjoyed the tour and that you liked the tour escort. The air and space museum is available on most departures, unfortunately they have the ability to open and close at their discretion and we cannot control that. we do hope to see you on another tour in the future. The tour was great. They took us to all of the popular areas with plenty of time for pictures, food, restrooms, etc. during our tour, one of my aunts had gotten lost by exiting a museum on the opposite side by accident, and was not able to find the bus. One of the tour guides got off the bus to assist us to locate them. That was very helpful of them to do and we deeply appreciate the efforts the entire team did to help in this unfornseen situation.

A recommendation is to inform the guests that there are two different exits for the national history museum to ensure they exit on the correct side.

I had only one day free to do DC and this tour was the best option. Pick up at 06:30am and we were back at around 8pm due to traffic at the Lincoln tunnel at our time of return. O researched a-lot and train option was faster but would have cost 200$ for a return ticket. Other option was Flexi Bus but would have taken 5 hours per way. So 169$ for this tour was a great value. The only down side is you don’t spend time on your own its always rushing as they only give 25-40 mints max per stop. I skipped the Air space museum to be able to have lunch. We spent 4+ hours per way so total of almost 9 hours on the Road but it’s worth it if you haven’t been to DC before like me so i could tick the White House and Capital visit on my to do list.😎

They were professional and on time.

1) First it started with that we couldn't find where bus was in the morning and guide didn't call us even if he (german guide) had our number and could speak german perfectly! Then we called by ourselves, but bus was already gone. For what you have a number when you dont call?!
2) Secondly, there was no internet in the bus. But we booked full tour and free internet was included.
3) Thirdly, very poor organisation not only between trips but also inside the bus. So, our german guide was Corona and woman who could speak a bit german put german speaking people to the middle of french speaking and these french speaking were continuosly talking whole the way. For this reason we couldn't sleep and day was exhausted. Poor organisation was also when started trips. We supposed to see air and space museum where we had to spend 2 hours how is it written here in this website. But guide gave us 75 minutes and we couldn't go inside museum at all because of time limit!!! So it was not done how it was written! Because of this short time limit i and my husband couldn't go toilet. Then, we asked italian speaking guide name Andrea if we will do a stop before going New York. He said no and gave us 20 minutes to go toilet in the art museum, which was also stressful running there and to bus back. And then on the way back new york they did a stop!!!

So we give only two stars because german speaking woman gave us hot spot because wi fi in bus didnt work as mentioned above.

We did a day trip to Niagara with another Tour company before Washington and were driving so long way, but that trip didn't do us so exhausted how this short trip to Washington.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback. We have researched all the items in your review and found that you were late to the tour and the guide held the entire group in order to allow you to participate in the activity. Wifi technology is limited to cell reception which can be intermittent in inclement weather. We are happy to hear that our German guide managed to get service on their personal hotspot and provided you the opportunity to connect. Due to the Air and Space museum COVID protocols and the increased traffic during the holidays we are subject to their availability for our visit. We are happy that you were able to enjoy the city of Washington DC on the tour which operated as advertised and hope to host you again on another tour in the future. Best Roie Empire Vacations

Would really recommend this trip! The length of the trip is a little longer than stated as it is a 4 hour trip from New york to the first stop. However, once at the first destination, the time goes so quick! Total trip was about 13 hours as we set off at 7am and arrived back at 9-15pm.
We got to see all of the destinations as stated and the tour guide was so informative and could answer questions. Our tour guide Eddie was really approachable and gave us all a detailed account of what we were doing and time scales. The main tourist places of Washington is seen in one day. Would deffo recommend!!

Prompt start of the day. We departed NYC at 6:30am. Antonio, our guide, was providing us with useful details along the way. Our driver, Micheal aka Siberia was absolutely fantastic. The banter them two had between themselves was priceless. We had a little stop half way to Washington which was very much welcomed. We managed to see everything that we were told we will see. Antonio gave us plenty of time at each stop to explore. It was a long day but definitely worth it. If you don’t have enough time to visit for longer, this is the next best thing. If you do book it, make sure you ask for Antonio and Michael

Good tour, i could take all the pictures I wanted at washington dc. But the museums I couldnt go because the time is very tight. Or you choose to lunch or go to museums. Also there is no good place to lunch. In general I liked. If you want to do calmly I recommend the two days tour.

I hadn’t been to Washington before despite numerous trips to the US in the past so decided to tag this day trip on to a long stay in NY.

The positive aspect was the guide Bruno, who provided a thoroughly comprehensive overview of the history of Washington and demonstrated a clear passion for his area of expertise. He was without doubt highly knowledgeable and I have awarded the three points primarily because of him.

My major frustration with this trip was the infrastructure provided by Empire. The tickets are not cheap and the coach trip was supposed to have been provided for English speakers only with options for other languages supposedly catered for on other coaches. But because of overbooking by Empire we were joined by a large group of non English speakers who were given priority seating at the front of the coach whilst everyone else had to sit further back. This was explained by Bruno as being so that he didn’t have to use the microphone to translate for them all the time. Understandable but this also ate into time a great deal and meant it was difficult to ask questions because everything was rushed in order to accommodate the translations.

The seating was also very uncomfortable for an 8 hour ride. It felt more like a school bus rather than a luxury coach and given there was no option for solo travellers to at least have a pair of seats to themselves, all solos were required to sit next to a complete stranger for 8 hours in a very small confined space without being able to stretch. When you travel with your partner/husband/wife you don’t have personal boundaries to respect but when sitting with a stranger in seats that you can’t move about in, you cannot really relax and enjoy the trip. When I have travelled by coach with other companies as a solo I have had far more space. On this trip I was actually pretty uncomfortable throughout and had to shift about regularly to attempt to alleviate some of the discomfort.

The coach window also had loads of dirty grease marks where I was sitting which obscured the scenery and was thoroughly unpleasant. The air conditioning was also not working properly and so the coach was stuffy and unpleasant by late afternoon.

Because of regular comfort breaks required throughout the day, the trip around Washington itself was quite hurried, although there was adequate time to take photos at key monuments and get a taster of the city. The main disappointment in Washington was the trip to Madame Tussaud’s which replaced the Smithsonian due to closures related to the lock down but clearly the lock down could not be avoided. Personally, I would have preferred to walk around Washington a bit more rather than visit the generic Madame Tussaud’s which is much the same the world over, so perhaps Empire should consider giving people alternatives in such a scenario.

Overall I think for the money charged, Empire should provide coach facilities which better reflect the needs and comfort of all travellers on these long haul trips, including maintaining separate groups based on language requirements.
