tour was great, very informative, you need to be fit, NYC bike lanes and trails are easy to ride and the waterfront parks incredible

I am writing this review as I have tried to contact the shop via two separate e mail addresses info@bikerentalcentralpark.com and support@bikerentalcentralpark.com with my 12 digit ID Ticket number in the hope to resolve this privately but I have had no response in almost a week so do not feel I have any alternative but to let people know about my family’s experience which was terrible. Firstly, at the beginning of the tour the guide who I believe was called Sergio swore in front of my children using the “F” word which is totally inappropriate. He didn’t seem to care about this and carried on swearing which was in relation to his ex-wife. He then asked where we were from and I when told him the UK, he said nobody likes the Brits (seems funny you like our money though). He then tried to retract this and said people hate the French and Argentinians. What sort of comments are these and got to do with a bike tour around Central Park? Whilst riding around Central Park, he rode off on his electric scooter and depending on where you were, you could not hear what he was saying which for a guided tour is pretty useless. Finally, to top it off, when we returned to the shop, my daughter started to drink an energy drink. He then started to offer his condescending opinion about energy drinks to my daughter about how bad they are for your health and this from a man who smokes! I neither asked for his unrelated opinion nor welcomed it. Against all my better judgement, I even gave this disgusting, self-opinionated narcissistic person a tip to which he didn’t even have the common courtesy to thank me. The information on the guided tour was pathetic too. I got more information on a 30-minute horse and carriage ride than a two-hour bike tour. We also did not receive a bike helmet which is stated on the website which I regard as a health and safety violation. I did not address these issues at the time due to embarrassment and upsetting my wife and children who do not like confrontation. It’s your choice and I’m never one to complain, but I would seriously think very hard about using this company. The staff in the shop look like they are being forced to work there against their will, the interaction and customer service is that bad.

DO NOT RENT bikes with this company. We booked online this afternoon and arrived at the shop to pick up the bikes and were met with three unfriendly, unhelpful and inattentive assistants. It was as if we were a nuisance even though we were the only people in the shop at the time. Minimal communication. There was no free helmet, lock or map offered as per the tickets. I had to ask specifically for a map. There was no explanation of how to operate the gears on the bike or the brakes. The bikes themselves were not the best.

My friends and I rented e-scooters and had so much fun exploring Central Park. It was a fast and easy way to get around and we enjoyed it very much!

Good, close location to Central Park. Nevertheless the bikes are quite used, not really maintained, changing gears is almost impossible. You only get a helmet if you ask for it.

My 10 year-old daughter and I had the pleasure of joining the 10am Saturday August 5th, 2023 Central Park bike tour. Our experience was wonderful. Our guide was professional yet funny, knowledgeable, and always checked up on everyone in the group to make sure that everyone was enjoying themselves and safe. For those looking into this tour, note that you are not always on the bike. The guide makes stops and you have a chance to get off the bike and walk around and enjoy a diversity of sites within the park. It was fun to do this with other participants in the tour -- in our group there were really nice people form Italy, Brazil, and other parts of the US. We strongly recommend the tour. It is not at all strenuous although be advised that specially on a sunny Saturday morning, the park is super busy and it can be a little overwhelming at first navigating the crowd of runners and other bikers along the park's road. Fortunately, our guide knew how to direct us and keep us safe while enjoying the tour.

Our bike guide Sergio was very good and friendly. The tour covered what you'd expect to be able to see in 2 hours through Central Park. What I was disappointed in was the logistics when you got to the place to star the tour. People were returning bikes as we were just being handed off the same bikes. No cleaning, wiping them down, no adjusting of bikes, etc. We were never given Helmets (the whole group) although tours says they were included. I think a little more prep time in between rentals/tours would be a nice touch.

Tour guide gave interesting information but sometimes it was hard to hear what he was saying. Maybe having a smaller group might help.

My sister and I biked the Park with Sergio. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining company. We had a great time riding with Sergio and hearing good stories and interesting facts around the park. He was bike safety conscientious, and we had no problems with the rental bikes.

We had an awesome tour with Sergio. He took us around the ENTIRE park! He knew so much about the history of the park and surrounding neighborhoods. We also learned about the horticulture and animals and birds in the park. The tour was a delight!

Great tour. It was easy to book, good location for the shop, only 6 people in our group. Sergio, our guide was kind and knowledgable. He made the tour fun and interesting. We went as a family of 4, 2 teenage sons, and we all enjoyed it. Bikes were in good shape, easy ride around the park.

Do not rent from this company under any circumstances. The measure of a company is not how well they perform on a basic transaction. If you use this company there’s a 50% chance things will go fine. But read my story and the other negative reviews. You’ll see that when it goes wrong it goes DRASTICALLY wrong. We rented 4 scooters for a ride in Central Park. I hit the brakes to go over a speed bump and the front fender popped open. I called the shop for assistance, they said none available. So we had to pay $37 for a Lyft to get the defective scooter back to their location. They didn’t reimburse the unused time, they didn’t reimburse the Lyft, AND THEY CHARGED ME — claiming that I broke it. I’m now disputing this with my credit card company. The irony is that when I got back to their office I could have just parked the scooters, got my drivers license and left. Their staff was completely inattentive and would have never noticed. However, to ensure that nobody else got that scooter, I brought it to the front to ensure that their manager was aware. Because I tried to be helpful, I got charged a fee on a scooter that was defective. No good deed goes unpunished with this company. There are better choices, rent from someone else.

The bike rental included helmets and were in good condition. Easy to ride. Our guide Sergio was excellent! He brought us through the entire park at a comfortable pace and even included some birding in the wooded forest area. He was knowledgeable about the history of the park and provided a wonderful experience!

I’ve visited Central Park dozens of times over the years but I’m so glad we decided to do this tour. We learned so much about the history and visited beautiful areas we never knew existed. Our tour guide was fun and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!

We booked a bike tour and our tour guide Ed, was knowledgeable, personable and definitely knew his stuff. Would highly recommend, there is lots to see and do in Central Park, that you’ll miss if you just go out on your own!
