Not to be confused with the 9/11 Museum and Memorial at Ground Zero, the 9/11 Tribute Museum focuses on the stories of those affected by 9/11 and their legacies. Very deep, emotional, and touching. The amount of information is just right, not too much, not too little.

Still don't know
Apr 2021
I purchased a ticket in advance along with a ticket to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Ticket noted the hours for the Tribute Museum on a Sunday as 10-5. I went to the other museum first but left with enough time for the Tribute Museum. Got there about 3:15. Upon arrival was told the museum closes at 4. I knew that would not be enough time for me. Requested a refund because the hours on my ticket were incorrect and I needed more time. Refund was granted after speaking with manager. Was not a fan of manager's attitude.

Moving emotional experience
Nov 2020
Family of 4 with children aged 10 and 13 visited the Museum. Truly moving experience speaking to 2 guides who had both lost family members during the 9/11 attacks. Their personal stories showed how brave they were to share the memories of their loved ones who were no longer there. The museum has plenty of artifacts but if you want to just see those, I would recommend the 9/11 Memorial Museum. This is more to hear from either survivors or surviving family members. A must-see visit.

Would not recommend
Jun 2020 • Family
Museum closed. Called to ask for a refund and call went to nowhere. Sent emails asking for a refund too but still no answer. Would not recommend as they sent automated message thanking me for visit when we couldn’t travel and venue was closed. Since they were closed I would have expected a full refund. Very poor customer service - actually no customer service.

Difficult to understand the order and get an overview without a guide
I went into this museum without any huge expectations. The museum located below ground zero, is more famous, I guess. There was a lot to read at this museum and it is difficult to fully understand the order and the trail to follow inside the museum. I think it would be good to have a guide here, because it is a little difficult to get an overview. Quite ok museum, but since I am old enough to remember 9/11, I did not learn much new.

NOT The National 9/11 Memorial Ground Zero
Feb 2020
We purchased tickets from Groupon.
This is NOT the National Memorial 9/11 main museum at ground zero.

Groupon is very mis leading.
First clue at the National 9/11 museum they stated we never take Groupon tickets.
This is a very small museum several blocks away with an expensive entrance fee.
An expensive waste of time and money for our group and we live in NYC !!
Not worth the visit. Be careful.

Must visit
Absolutely moving. It is such an interesting museum but so moving. Ticket prices are a decent price and there are queues to get in but they move quite quickly. The museum is very informative and respectful to those affected by this awful act. I would definitely recommend doing this.

Wonderful Remembrance experience.
A very humbling & moving Museum. This Tribute Museum had a lot more information regarding the whole history of New York, the events leading up to that dreadful day 18years ago plus the history of the building of the Twin Towers etc. It was very well laid out with very interesting. Actual plane Fuselage, personal objects, toys, uniforms etc were displayed. Very emotional. A very moving wall of remembrance with photos of all those who lost their lives brings home the enormity of that awful day. Staff are very helpful & friendly. A wonderful tribute.

Still devastating
We had a combo with the One World Observatory (even with zero view impressive) but were the most impressed by the tribute museum. The jacket of a NYFD, torn to pieces. The door of a policecar, completely destroyed. We felt the hatred of the attack. But also the many helping hands, comforting arms, strength of all those involved. I strongly recommend this visit. Thanks for having us.

Personal and touching
Dec 2019 • Couples
We actually booked the tribute museum instead of the memorial museum by accident and I’m glad we did as the stories by the survivors were so touching and personal. Very interesting and absolutely lovely volunteers!
