My husband and I arrived and were greeted by Joel, he was extremely welcoming and provided us with some neat brochure with related info in it. We hit all the important spots of the tour plus some local food favorites! Joel was so insightful and light hearted it made the tour a complete breeze! We finished off in Chinatown and Joel was kind enough to make sure everyone knew where they were going afterwards and wouldn’t get lost. Great tour!!!Written 5 December 2023

It was a rainy day but he messaged us the morning of reminding us to bring umbrellas and during the tour he made sure to find shelter we could stand under while he told us stories. He liked to do some impersonations of the gangsters and that was a nice touch. After the tour he talked with us for a while and continued to answer our questions. I am ashamed it took me this long to write a review because of how truly incredible this experience was for my family and me. Before lockdown, I found Robin via multiple websites and booked a half-day tour by private car for myself, my mother, and gangster loving father. I prefaced the booking explaining that my father had a bad knee and I was a bit nervous about a walking tour. I was hoping he would still get the full experience viewing everything from a car and not just be stuck in New York city traffic all day. Robin customized the entire ride for us, and not only was she an absolute pleasure, she knew the streets so well she would ask the driver to pull up a couple of hundred feet when the sidewalk would be easier to get in and out of the car. It was a fun experience we still talk about and also happened to be the last time my parents will be in the city with me for quite some time. When we got hungry, and my father wanted to sit down for a meal (an unexpected request when we had a full picnic in the car), Robin, of course, knew the perfect place and was able to incorporate everything into part of the experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable and my father LOVED it.

This was by far the best tour we've ever done. The guide was incredible. He had so much knowledge about every aspect of the mob and was able to keep it interesting with true stories followed by taking us to the locations he was talking about. He was animated and had an answer for every question. This tour was a priceless experience and we would recommend it to anyone that is interested in learning more about the mob and movies associated with that time.

Joel and Kevin picked us up and dropped us off promptly at our designated location. The SUV was clean and comfortable. Kevin may be one of the best drivers of a large SUV in the city. We were chauffeured to every destination without any issues. Joel is a compendium of mafia information from inception through current day. You will hear and see things that you never imagined and he will answer any questions that you may have. All in all, it was a great tour and you leave with a whole new perspective on the mobster life and history.

If you are interested in the mob and it’s history in New York then this tour is excellent. Joel our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. You also get to see Queens which you may not get to do if on a holiday to New York. I would 100% recommend this tour if you are at all interested in the mafia or even a passing interest through movies

I have been interested in the American Mafia, especially the New York Mafia for a number of years. Although I had quite a bit of knowledge, this tour took it to the next level. You will hear stories of how the mob started, and its history up to modern day. You will be shown a multitude of infamous mob sites. My friendly guide had wealth of knowledge on the subject. Whether you know a bit about the mob, or no knowledge at all, and want to learn about this dark part of US history, this is the tour for you. Worth every cent.

Wow! What a terrific experience! Our guide, Joel was a wealth of knowledge about all thing Mob related. His stories made us feel like we were right in the action! Driver Arkady was so accommodating too and also had mob tidbits to share. Both were really easy going and definitely enjoyed answering our questions and relating to my husband who is also a mob expert! They were willing to stop for water breaks so very accommodating.

We just went took a tour and had Joel our tour guide and Alex our tour driver for the private 6 hour driving tour…it was worth every penny! Joel was so well informed and provided such great education to us from start to finish! There was never a dull moment. We started downtown from our hotel throughout downtown, Niers Bar in Queens (which was absolutely delicious by the way and service was great), and saw sooo much more in between and took lots of photos. I highly recommend this tour if you have a chance with your family and friends. So glad we did this for my husbands birthday and will definitely be contacting Robin again so we can request Joel for another tour!

My husband is really into anything Mafia related and watches so many documentaries I worried the tour wouldn't be great for him, couldn't have been more wrong. He learned even more (as did I) and got to see some great places to feel like it brought all the information to life.
Robin was a great tour guide and tailored it to our interests, Ben was also a great driver.
It was a little pricey but we are glad we did the private vehicle tour over a group walking tour (not least because it was pouring down)
we loved the Italian bakery she took us for for Canolli and we got to meet John the owner who had good stories of his own

I took this tour in preparation for a book on the history of the Mafia that I plan to co-author with my writing partner, who joined me on the tour. I can honestly say that I didn't expect to cover so much ground or gather so much information. Robin's knowledge spans not only the history of the Five Families but also the Jewish Mob in New York, the Chicago Outfit, the Purple Gang of Detroit, and other ancillary organized crime groups. We were amazed to see the bullet hole still visible in the lobby of the Majestic apartment building from Vincent Gigante's attempted assassination of Frank Costello. From this location on 72nd street we made our way down to the Lower East Side and Little Italy, where we saw Lucky Luciano's childhood home and John Gotti's Ravenite Social Club, and we managed to hit every major Mob-related point of interest in between. I also got a box of the best cannoli I've ever tasted, though I'm not sure if this is a standard part of the tour! I saw parts of Manhattan I never knew existed, and learned fascinating secret histories of some streets and neighborhoods I've passed through hundreds of times before. Our driver, Arkady, was somehow able to park us directly in front of many important landmarks for photo opportunities and a few quick tours. Between his professional luxury vehicle service and Robin's vast knowledge, this is the best Mafia tour of New York that I could ever imagine taking. For me it's an easy 5/5!

My husband's favourite film is the Godfather, so this was a treat for him. We booked this tour from the UK with Robin. The communication was quick and easy and Robin was able to tailor the tour to meet our specific needs.
In preparation for the tour, we watched a number of Mafia documentaries and films, which helped us understand the family structure and become familiar with their most infamous characters, of which there's many!
Robin contacted us a number of times before the tour, which was reassuring. And on the day of the tour, we were picked up from our hotel in a luxury vehicle and Jules, our guide, whisked us around the various sites. It was so interesting to see the other side of Manhattan and Queens which we wouldn't have seen on a traditional tour. And wow! What Jules doesn't know about the Mafia is not worth knowing! What a font of all knowledge - he should appear on Mastermind!
Since getting home, we've been watching more Mafia documentaries and to be able to recognise some of the places on film is such a thrill for us!
