Make your own way to the Shubert Theatre in Times Square to see the new production of Hello, Dolly! that stars the inimitable Bette Midler in the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi, with David Hyde Pierce as the co-star.
The show is directed by Jerry Zaks, four-time Tony Award winner, with choreography by Warren Carlyle, another Tony award winner. The new show pays tribute to the original work of Gower Champion, the legendary director and choreographer who is credited with one of the most successful stagings in the history of musical theater, breaking the record for Broadway’s longest-running show when it premiered in 1964.
The role of Dolly Levi will be played by Donna Murphy on Tuesday evenings. Tickets for the show are available for dates from August through December 2017.
