Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
The museum’s 33 million objects are spread through 28 different buildings – making a guide indispensable if you want to experience even a fraction of it. You’ll start by learning the museum’s history in the majestic Roosevelt Rotunda where you’ll come face to face with the first of many prehistoric characters on your visit. Moving on, your guide will explain how the dioramas are created as you explore the giant African mammals of the Akeley Hall.  The creatures get even bigger as you move towards the dinosaur exhibits featuring some of the most complete collections of dinosaur skeletons anywhere in the world. From the gargantuan Titanosaur to the crowd-favorite T-Rex, even the most serious adult feels like a kid staring up at these beasts. You’ll then move on to hear about the North American Forests, featuring the giant Sequoia, before gaping up at the Blue Whale hanging overhead in the Hall of Ocean Life. Visit some American mammals as you learn about the National Parks of the United States. End your visit with a trip to space, exploring the Cosmic Pathway that details the no fewer than 13 billion years of our universe’s existence. Talk about perspective, right?

From the start this tour was worth every penny. Our guide Mark was beyond fantastic. He was enthusiastic and great with kids. He had so much energy. I can’t imagine going to this museum without a guide. It would be overwhelming and hard to understand the true history and hidden gems this museum has. The kids got educated and had fun at the same time. They said it was one of the highlights of their trip. Mark was patient with their questions and encouraged questions. I highly recommend Babylon tours and Mark. Fyi my kids were 10 and 12. Might be a long tour for those under 8 so plan accordingly. I thought the length was perfect and we saw so much!

The tour was AMAZING we had a blast! My bf isn't really a history/museum guy and he definitely enjoyed himself so I really appreciate that. Mark is the best tour guide ever, he knew everything that wasn't written on the exhibits/common knowledge and his high energy kept us all going so we could see everything. Looking forward to seeing the Met with Mark Venaglia next!

Robin was great. Hit the big highlights and kept us interested, adapted when the museum had a hall closed off for a special filming of something that made us have to go around a different way. She then even helped us navigate the subway and gave us some locals pointers. Very worth the tour. Can’t wait to come back with more time at the museum and will gladly book another Babylon tour.

Although the museum was crowded due to the holiday, we had a wonderful tour guide who was just fantastic. Mark had so much information to share with us and got us thru the museum with ease and helped us not waste any time trying to find our way so we got to see everything we wanted plus some. He even stayed a little longer then he needed to so he could show us a few extra things. We loved it and would definitely use the service again when touring.

Katherine was our guide and we were extremely happy with how thorough she was. She didn’t make us feel rushed and she basically taught us as we went through each exhibit without making it boring. She was very interactive with our kids, who were visiting the museum for the first time, which my wife and I really appreciated. We would certainly use her for other tours when we head back to the City.
