Misleading info on departure times lack of info on mandatory screening
Jul 2021 • Couples
We went to Liberty park the day before we bought our tickets for the ferry around the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There are a couple of signs around showing departure and arrivals. The first departure for the day was at 0900. It stated that it would be a one hour round trip or you could get off at the other 2 points and stay for an hour until the next ferry and reboard that one. Hop on hop off kind of idea. Great, so we came back the next day at 0845 for the 0900 departure, bought our tickets no problem. The lady told us to go over to the white tent for screening. We get there and the guy at the check in, not very polite BTW, told us the next boat starts boarding at 0920. I said "what? I bought tickets for the 0900." He said "ya, we start screening at 0920 and departure is at 0955." We went back and forth like this a couple of times. I decided I was over him and went back to the terminal where they sell the tickets and complained. The information booth inside the terminal appears to be a separate entity from the ticket booth. She agreed with my complaint that the ticket sales are not forthcoming with all their information. If departure is 0955 that needs to be told up front. Because they are doing "airport like" screening, which they are, that also needs to be told up front. Are backpacks allowed? Bottles of water? What are they going to confiscate? This needs to be stated up front so I know what not to bring with me. I also need to plan the rest of my day according to that hour I was not prepared for them to take from me. I watched the lady type in missed ferry when she returned my money. This was a lie since that was not why I returned the tickets.
Very sad I missed my boat ride due to their misleading information and failure to properly communicate.

It is a nicely organized package, you have access to the park and have your ferry rides booked in advance so you do not have to wait in line.

We were not too convinced of purchasing an entrance to reach the crown of the statue, this is an additional option, if you would like to make this visit it is best to purchase in advance.

Feb 2020
We went pre-COVID, in February, 2020, so it was very cold and windy. It was still great to see the Statue. Our time did not allow the Ellis Island visit, so we will have to go back.

Wait - they are not concerned with any Covid Safety Measures
Sep 2020
While the ticket you receive gets you want you want (Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island with audio tours included) I can not, nor would I ,recommend how they are handling ANYTHING during this time of Covid. Absolutely no enforcing of social distancing while waiting in lines to board, no seats or rows blocked off on the ferry's to help with social distancing, no enforcement of wearing masks AT ALL, which is especially bad when trying to disembark the ferry. While I thought it would be safe to do- as it was mainly outdoors- the most unsafe part of all of it was being in the care of Statue Cruises.

Terrible in the time of covid

Appalled that this company is not having people abide by wearing masks or be socially distance while waiting in line to board the boat. Multiple employees told us to pack in closer and closer. Would not recommend. Of course, they conviently post a sign that they waive all covid liability.

Refund - Just be Patient
Apr 2020
I booked my trip in December for a April cruise and Statue of Liberty crown visit. My trip was canceled due to COVID. I submitted a refund request in April and followed up two months later with an email. I am happy to report that I got a full refund today on my credit card. Imagine you ran a business that had to close due to COVID and you had no money coming in for months. Could you continue to pay all your staff to only process refunds? Also this company could have chosen to only offer credits for future trips. I for one would not have been able to take advantage of such a credit meaning the company could have made money rather than lose it. Yes I had to wait many months to get my money but better late than never because they could have gone out of business and I would never had gotten my money. The lesson here is have patience and some understanding of what they are experiencing. If I do return to NY I will definitely be using this company again.

Refund received
I recently gave them a bad rating because I wasn't sure if they were going to sincerely give me a refund. After 3 mths, I finally got it today. So, I would like to change my rating and say this is a trustworthy company.
