Good tour with an excellent guide who explains the history of Harlem well after the church visit, but two things to note: 1) the service takes place in functional church premises inside a modern office/housing building and not in a traditional beautiful church 2) you get seated so far back that you only partly see the people live and therefore need to watch them on screen

This tour is fantastic. Our guide Alvin was amazing and very knowledgeable. I didn’t expect the jazz tour of Harlem but this was great. We saw where Duke Ellington, Count Basie, John Coltrane and others lived, for example. The highlight of the tour was without doubt the church visit. The pastors, elders and congregation were so welcoming which was a lovely start. Once the singing began it was uplifting, exciting, emotional and I was totally blown away. It was overwhelming, moving and one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Thanks to the Greater Highway Deliverance Temple, driver Francis and guide Alvin. You guys are incredible.

Loved every minute of this trip and our tour guide was amazing! The church was amazing and the music was outstanding! Highly recommended

Our guide Peggy was the stand out feature of this experience - very informative about Harlem, lively and entertaining without being in your face or trying too hard. She and the driver Lewis obviously had a great understanding and worked as a smooth team. We stopped to look around some interesting sites. The actual visit to the church was not quite what I expected. The pews were packed with busloads of tourists, behind a handful of parishioners. Music was provided by a choir, organist, a drummer with what seemed to be a full drum set, and solo singer. The audience was asked to stand for large parts of the event and join in at times.

Alvin, our guide was amazing. So informative and welcoming. I had done this tour some years back but this time round it was definitely the best. People that care and enjoy their work shows.

The concept, The driver and the guide were excellent however the bus was in poor condition with no air conditioning and little microphone range. For the cost one would’ve expected better

Ludie was an excellent storyteller talking about the history of Harlem and early New York history. We really enjoyed her approach of singing and her explanation of gospel music. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn more about the history of Harlem and gospel singing. It was a very informative tour.

The actual church part was great. The bus tour with limited views was boring and went way too long. Better to spend more time at the church than pay a fortune for the padding either side of the church visit. When we did stop to look at a site it was drop dead boring.

Very interesting tour of a part of the City that's off beat, but well worth visiting. Harlem has a lot of history and the Gospel part is a unique flavor of the area.

Our guide Peggy was helpful and gave us a fund of information I didn’t know about Harlem. She took us through the history of Harlem in the days of the settlers through different waves of immigrants, to the Harlem renaissance and up to the present day. We visited a church to understand more the Harlem Gospel tradition.

We had an amazing tourguide: Debi Kops! She is an energetic lady, full of lively stories and she has amazing knowledge about (almost?) everything: American history, architecture, art and photography, political history. You ask a question and she knows the answer. The service was very energetic, with singing, dancing and praising. We stayed for about 1 hour, before we left for the brunch. And that too was a very good experience. Nice and cosy restaurant with friendly staff. We could make a choice from the menu and the food was great! Drinks included, except beer or wine. All in all, we had a fantastic sunday morning, dispite the weather

Despite the heavy rain , the tour was great. Tour guide Alvin was fabulous, kept us fully informed throughout trip. His knowledge of places, people & specific knowledge was amazing. The church experience was exhilarating.

Becky was an absolutely amazing guide! And the Choir was outstanding! The bus was comfortable and easy to find.

Absolutely fantastic. A highlight. Choir of 12 just 5 feet away. Great voices and harmony. A cappella. And they sang for a long time. They pass a collection box at the end of the concert. They deserve a very good tip, at least. The bus tour was better than I expected, and our guide, Peggy Taylor, was also fantastic.
