Bethany was pleasant and very informative and the food was good, but there is room for improvement. The Marchiano bakery's tomato pie and pepperoni bread was very tasty, but quite a distance from the rest of the tour. Perhaps smaller groups would allow access to the inside of some of the stops. All in all it was a pleasant afternoon and the food was a plus, but please continue to upgrade.

Great Day Activity
Aug 2019
My son and I went on this food tour with Bethany last weekend before he went off to college. It was a lot of fun! The food was outstanding, Bethany's knowledge of Manayunk and the Philly area were great. I highly recommend this tour. My favorite was the delicious ice cream at the Tubby Robot and the pretzel from Tasty Twisters was so good we stopped and bought more on our way home. Another highlight was the bread from Marchiano's, we got more of that too! We will definitely do another tour!

Fun tour
Considering the hills of Manayunk, the walking was quite easy. But considering all the restaurants in the area I was expecting more food. However, we did hit all the Philly favorites of tomato pie, soft pretzels, cheesesteaks. There was also cappuccino and ice cream and a off beat bruschetta. There was some offbeat history and a friendly guide. I think the tour was worth the price, but with all the variety I let feeling that the tour didn’t do justice to all of the local eating establishments. Maybe if the tour didn’t start on Umbria Street more time could have been spent on Main Street establishments. While the Marchianos bakery was great there was a real disconnect between it and the Main Street businesses 1/2 mile away. Still I recommend it for getting a feel for Manayunk, if not a deeper appreciation for the diversity of foods.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, and for your valuable thoughts! We do strive to exhibit the true spirit of our tour in our marketing and branding, which is to show 5-7 tastings of famous Philadelphia foods to our tour participants. While there are many tours in Philadelphia that visit a varied selection of restaurants, our tour specifically focuses on Authentic Philadelphia Foods, highlighting small, family-owned and reputable eateries in Manayunk that serve classic Philly foods and have been in operation for decades. In order to keep consistency of food quality and a unique perspective, we do not work with new restaurants in Manayunk or those that are chain restaurants, owned by large corporations, or not in line with authentic Philadelphia foods. We thank you again for offering your insight for future travelers. For those wanting a different tour than we offer, there are many wonderful food tours throughout Philadelphia that offer general restaurant tours and small bites from varied establishments rather than themed food tours like ours.

Charming food tour of Manayunk
Jul 2019 • Couples
Received the tour as a Christmas present and finally went on the tour today. Wonderful selection of stops including Marchiano's bakery, pretzels from Tasty Twisters, bruschetta from River City Outpost, cheese steaks (1/4) from Sorrentino's deli, cappuccino from Volo coffeehouse, cookies from Nutmeg Cate Design and as a last stop, ice cream from Tubby Robot Ice cream. My favorite was the tomato pie from Marchiano's - we managed to buy some yummy bread before the tour started and had it back home! So delicious! Bethany was our tour guide and gave us great history and present day activities. Highly recommend. My only downside was that it was super hot today - in the 90's and no matter what we did to stay in the shade or in air conditioning - it was still brutally hot. Take the tour in Sept when the weather is more friendly!

I have lived in the Roxborough/Manyunk area for almost 10 years and still learned so much from this tour. The food was amazing! I loved getting introduced to the many places that prioritize a well made product. The tour guide was fantastic and the length and amount of food was on point! I'm still tasting those delicious macaroons!!

Our family decided on a food tour to experience Manayunk while visiting our daughter in Philly. We had a wonderful afternoon learning about the neighborhood while enjoying a delicious progressive lunch. We'll be revisiting several of the spots we tried with Lauren and will definitely take the Chestnut Hill tour on another visit.

Food Tour of Manayunk
Apr 2019 • Friends
This past weekend we took the Food Tour of Manayunk and our guide Bethany was extremely friendly, knowledgable and just fun. She not only loves her little town of Manayunk but loves the food and people and it was reflected in how everything was presented to us. Growing up in Philadelphia we all think we know the city, but this little tour gave us an insight on places we did not know existed nor had we tried before. We had a fabulous day exploring and can't wait to do the Chestnut Hill tour. I would absolutely recommend this tour to all who want to do, something new on a weekend.
Bethany - you were fabulous.

Food tour of Manayunk
Apr 2019 • Couples
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Manayunk. Our guide Bethany was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. She obviously loves the town she lives in. The food selections were classic Philly: tomato pie, pepperoni roll, soft pretzel, cheese steak, AWESOME ice cream, coffee. Great variety, locally owned family shops. Emphasis on "buy local" and "slow" food.

The only thing to improve: our group was quite large, and a few times I had trouble catching what the guide was saying. Nevertheless, this was one of the best tours we've ever been on.

We love foodie tours and have taken them in Melbourne, Paris, London, Boston, Ithaca, Chicago, San Francisco and more. We did the "Authentic Food Tour in Manaynunk" and were only moderately impressed. Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly; she was perhaps the best part of the tour. Bethany. Group size was too large. They need to decrease group size or get listening devices to allow everyone to hear the guide. It was impossible to hear her much of the time. Need more time to sit - too long on your feet. Even places that were intended to be able to sit, didn't have enough chairs. Didn't like the fact that almost every tasting was out on the street; glad it didn't rain. Could have skipped the bread and jam stop and the over altruistic saga. Also, the Philly cheese Steak was not even close in quality to others we have had in Philly. A disappointment. Loved the ice cream, the macaroons and the tomato pie and pepperoni bread. Needs work.
