- K8394KTnancyt0 contributionsGo for the Fells Point HistoryMary Margret was as great as the reviews said. I fully enjoyed learning about the history of Fells point. One of the restaurants food was outstanding, the others were good but not my style. A great value for the price if you enjoy eating and want to learn more about this area.Written 13 January 2025
- June P0 contributionsMust do!Mary Margaret was the best!! The group was great people too! The history was so interesting and the food stops were great. My favorite was Bunny’s buckets & Bubbles. So fun!! Snow on the ground & all… I had a great time!!Written 11 January 2025
- MadeleineK900 contributionsGreat Tour!!Margaret Mary was the greatest! Went out of her way and gave us more tidbit than just restaurants/food. This was my first tour with Tripadvisor and was really wonderful!!Written 14 November 2024
- HolyLandHuckster0 contributionsGreat Food, Poor GuideThe food was great. The guide, however, presented a stream of basically unrelated facts about "unknown" local residents (not Washington, Jefferson, etc OR how these great historical figures interacted with the history of Annapolis). The guide set no historical or geographical contexts within which individual facts could become meaningful. There was no discussion of how the food we were served was relevant to Maryland or the Annapolis area.Written 1 September 2024

- quahaug0 contributionsGreat tour guide and food tour value.Charm city Food tour’s Fells Point Food Tour in Baltimore was the perfect tour. We booked it through TripAdvisor but it is available directly as well. Combining some local history with a great combination of foods from local restaurants with historic significance of one kind or another. Mary Margaret our guide, is a Fells Point resident who knows everyone and everything about the neighborhood. Four food stops including an unusual dessert and drink made for a full three hour plus tour and was enough food to count as dinner. The group was small, eight adults total, and everyone seemed to enjoy the tour immensely. Overall, this was a really good tour and an excellent value. We give it five stars and the rare five clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.Written 14 July 2024
- Z880EZdonnap0 contributionsSuch a great afternoon of history, delicious food and laughsOur office had a private tour for 18 with Mary Margaret through Fells Point. We stopped at Alexanders Tavern, Barcocina and Prima Dopo. All of these locations had great food and drinks. The crush's at Alexander's Tavern were amazing, everything at Barcocina was delicious and Prima Dopo was not only very yummy, but the decor and history blew me away! Mary Margaret was so pleasant to work with and you could tell she really does have a love for the Fells Point area and history. She was so excited to hear our own personal connections to Fells and how it related to the tour. It was a great experience all around. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.Written 18 June 2024
- YouReign0 contributionsDo It like a localCarolyn, our tour guide, was a delight! (This was our first walking food tour) We sampled food from 4 different restaurants with accommodations for dietary restrictions. She is very knowledgeable and we had lots of fun. Who knew I could learn the history of Annapolis in such an informative way with loads of laughs! You gotta do this.... Thanks Carolyn 😃Written 9 June 2024
- LacrosseMD0 contributionsGood Food. 3.5 hour duration longer than other tours we've takenGood tour. Guide sure knows her history. Could have been shorter at 3.5 hours. Really long gap between restaurant #1 and #2. Other historic food tours we've done in other cities were about 3 hours, which we found was more than enough.Written 4 June 2024
- dorothyl520 contributionsAn Enjoyable Sunday AfternoonIf you like good food, history, and unique architecture, this tour is for you. We walked about two miles through the picturesque side streets of Annapolis, stopping at three very nice restaurants and then ending at a busy ice cream shop. The food was delicious, although it wasn’t really reflective of the Chesapeake location. Carolyn—who is knowledgable, articulate, personable and enthusiastic—is the guide who usually conducts this historic food tour. The fact that she loves her job elevated the experience for us.Written 3 June 2024
- 229rickj0 contributionsFells Point Food Tour with friendsWe did the Fells Point Food Tour with friends and Mary Margaret was our host. She did an excellent tour, loaded with history and good food. She took care of all the guests (there were 13 guests). Highly recommend this tour with Mary Margaret!Written 28 April 2024
- wifeNmommy0 contributionsFoodies experienceMary Margaret was our tour guide and did a very good job informing us about the history, tidbits, recommendations for awesome food & drink establishments in Fell's Point. She was personable and lighthearted. This is a walking tour. Unfortunately, the March weather was too chilly for this. We enjoyed meeting the others in our group of 10 and eating family style at the 4 restaurants we stopped at. The food samples tasted good, were plentiful and filling. I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed that we did not visit top rated restaurants in Trip Advisor, nor were some of our food samples original/unique to the Baltimore area.Written 27 March 2024
- jamesbH7310WW0 contributionsGo experienceGreat way to connect with a new to you town/city. Carolyn is experienced and entertaining. The first two selections of restaurants served top draw entries . Last one, Red Red Wine pizza was so-so. Overall, ample servings, very good food, entertaining for those interested in US history, and highly recommended.Written 24 March 2024

Our son recently moved to Baltimore and we took this tour while visiting him for the first time. I can't say enough good things about it! Our guide, Mary Margaret, was warm and knowledgeable and had a close relationship with the owner of every restaurant we stopped in! The food was plentiful and delicious. We got history lessons as we explored the area, as well as information about current offerings in the city. We will definitely return to the places we visited.

We really enjoyed our food tour. Our guide was Timmy. He was a native Baltimorean and you could tell he had a lot of pride in his city. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. Our first stop was at a Jewish deli in the Jonestown neighborhood. We had a lot of food to sample there, including a delicious corned beef sandwich. The other three stops were restaurants in Little Italy where we sampled two different kinds of pasta, caprese salad, pizza, and tiramasu. Along the way, Timmy pointed out various significant landmarks. Overall, it was a great way to spend an afternoon in Baltimore and we really enjoyed having Timmy as our guide.

We had a great time! We were originally booked for the Fells Point Food tour, but it was cancelled due to not enough people signing up. The company promptly reached out to us to see if we would like to do the Little Italy tour instead. I’m so glad we did this tour! Mary Margaret was a fantastic guide and every place we stopped at was so welcoming! All spots were also very accommodating for gluten free. 10000% recommend!

Mary Margaret was fabulous!! She was gregarious, and witty and ALL the food was spot on. each place had their own special something that makes you want to go back. Our group size was just right (7) and the walk between each stop is what you need to make room for the next course. You will enjoy this tour!!

The Little Italy and Jonestown tour was the best and Mary Margaret was a superb tour guide in spite of the freezing weather! Her knowledge of the area is endless. We've done a lot of food tours and this was by far the best. When we make our next trip to Baltimore we'll do the Fells Point tour and request Mary Margaret as our guide.

We had so much fun! Mary Margaret was so knowledgeable and just really friendly and fun. My out of town visitors loved the tour and so did my 13 year old daughter. These locals cannot wait for the next tour!

I was given this as a gift from my wife and even though I'm a lifelong resident of Baltimore, I had a ton of fun touring Little Italy with Mary Margaret and my good friend PJ. We went to some places I'd been and many I never was (all great and very welcoming). I would highly recommend and will definitely do this again (and give as a gift to others). It was such a fun experience!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Baltimore! Our guide Mary Margaret was excellent and we ate way too much food. You will not leave hungry and will not need dinner after the tour! Also appreciated the history of the area. Two thumbs up and highly recommend.

Our family recently went on the Charm City Food tour of Jonestown & Little Italy. It was a cold windy day, but Molly our guide paced the tour just right. The restaurants we visited were friendly and provided plenty of food. I found the Charm City tour people very considerate to deal with, as I had to cancel the original tour and reschedule. They could not have been more co-operative or helpful. Try it, you certainly won't leave hungry.

This food tour doesnt include the food? I don’t understand?
Written 14 February 2020
The tour includes food but not drinks. The food in Jonestown was ok, the food in Little Italy was good. I have been on better food tours overseas but then the food there is more exotic and the history more unfamiliar thus interesting to us.

I can't imagine it would be a problem to have an infant with you. It's an easy stroll in between places to eat. Every place has bathrooms so that you can do diaper changes. Our tour guide had a lot of stories, so at one outdoor stop, we just stood there for a good solid 15 minutes while he talked. If the baby needs movement, you might have to step away from the group, but you should be fine. Make sure you're hungry!

I know it’s about 3-3 1/2 hrs long but how much actual walking is involved. What’s the distance involved?
Written 4 April 2018
The distances are short. Most of the time is spent in the restaurants. I had a knee injury at the time and had no problem.
