    Nice Savannah tour
Martin was an excellent tour guide--extremely knowledgeable about Savannah history. The walking tour proceeds at an easy pace, with time for a little sitting.

Our guide Joe was terrific. Interesting, informative and fun! He made sure to only give accurate information, looking to answers once or twice to be sure. Perfect way to begin our visit!

    Wonderful Walking Tour!
Very pleasant walking experience and interesting historic details! Strangers asked my tour guide for information about local sites and he was very knowledgeable and helpful to them, too.

    Walking Tour of Savannah
Our guide was Martin S. The tour lasted two hours. Lots of history, architecture, places to eat, parks, wars, and key players in Savannah's history. Well worth the time and money. For the most part the walk was easy and at our pace. This is not a group tour just the two of us.

Great overview of Historic area and worth doing to start your day
This was an excellent tour to do first thing in the morning. It was great to just walk around for two hours and get a general sense of the area … learning a lot of history along the way. Keith was a very good tour person and knowledgeable.

    Lackluster
If I could pick one word to describe this tour it would be Lackluster. My husband and I had already been in Savannah for several days prior to taking this tour and walked around many of the squares and historic downtown. As such we had encountered many walking tour groups which all seemed to be high energy and having a great time laughing and talking with their guides, so we were really looking forward to our tour. When we arrived at our meeting point about 10 mins early we encountered a large group with a friendly guide-all were wearing headsets and the guide was talking clearly into a microphone relating some fun anecdotes. Alas, this was not our group. Our hearts sank when our guide Martin sauntered up wearing an N-95 mask...and promptly told us that we would all have to wear masks throughout the 2-3 hour duration of the tour...even though the entire tour was OUTDOORS. Plenty of room for social distancing, absolutely no need for this. Perhaps Martin should check current CDC guidelines. Needless to say, if you’ve tried to hear someone speaking in an N-95 mask...it was muffled at best. Overall energy level of the guide was very low. Basically walked to a destination, uttered a few lines, no funny stories, repeat. Mumbling the information you could read on any sign around the historic sites. After about a half hour we really wanted to just depart the tour but since we had paid $60 we decided to stick it out. Obviously this wasn’t the tour for us. There are MANY other walking tours of Savannah, unless you want to walk around in your sweaty mask outdoors for over 2 hours listening to the guide drone on...I’d suggest skipping this one.

    Enjoyable Walking Tour in Savannah
Took the tour with Martin. He was extremely knowledgeable about Savannah’s history, architecture and culture. He made it fun too with his cute sense of humor and pride in his hometown of over 30 years. We also could bring our dog along which was great for those of us traveling with a pet. We highly recommend both this tour and Martin.

    Great morning in Savannah
We had a great two hour tour. Martin was a very informative guide with amusing and interesting insights into the city, its history, its buildings and its culture. We’re glad we did this early in our visit to the city as we left with ideas as to what to do during our remaining time there. Well worth the money and the time.

    Great Tour!!!
My mom and I took the Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil tour with Martin and it was awesome! Martin was really great, he has a good personality and well informed! It isn't necessary to know the book and/or movie to take the tour and learn something good about some of the colorful individuals of Savannah! Highly recommend this tour, if even to spend a couple hours with a great guy who can give you some interesting facts!

We are very familiar with everything Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. We've toured Mercer House a number of times and visited Bonaventure Cemetery several times. Our tour guide was Martin. He is very informative but a little hard to hear. I can't understand why these tour guides don't wear lapel mikes because of all the street traffic and noise, sometimes some information was lost. Otherwise, we enjoyed the tour.

Hi Patricia - I’m glad you enjoyed the tour. It was a pleasure taking you out. Lapel mikes (and the accompanying earphones for guests) are for tours with large numbers of guests, with minimal opportunities to interact directly with their guide. I don’t run my tours that way. I keep my tours small. Maximum 10 people, for a more intimate experience where guests can easily interact with their guide at any time - including asking for me to repeat something they missed. Like when downtown Savannah street noise occasionally interrupts. Thanks for the review! Martin Sinderman, owner Savannah Sidewalk tours LLC

Great tour! Saw everything we were hoping to and our guide had some funny stories too. Watching the movie first helps. A great mix of not just Midnight stories but also Forrest Gump and Savannah history. Once we did this tour we found that all the other tours hit the same spots, so saved some $$ not having to do others.

We read the book and watched the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in prep for our trip to Savannah. The walking tour did not disappoint! Our guide also was able to point us to a couple additional sites not included in the tour. A really fun couple of hours!

Boring and flat. Didn’t get much from it. Was ready to leave half way through tour. The description of the tour made it seem like it would go through the grave yards and explore more of the haunted areas. Did not stand up to the what was advertised or reviews. Would not recommend to anyone to take this tour. Waste of money and did not like the experience at all! Had a very hard time understanding the tour guide. Was not scary, haunting, or fun! Reached out to chat message of company said I would hear something from “upper management” we shall see what they say. But I felt like it was a waste of my hard earned money and a scam! Had other. Would give a negative stats if possible.

Hello Garrett - You have obviously gotten my tour mixed up with that of another company. My Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Narrated Walking Tour focuses on the book and movie of the same name. It’s not and never has been a tour of graveyards and haunted areas (around here we call those “ghost tours”) nor has it ever been advertised as such. You said you reached out via chat to whatever company you think gave you this tour and received a reply that “upper management” would get back to you. My company does not utilize online chat facilities - but I would be delighted to speak with you directly to help clear up your confusion. 912-508-1348 is the direct line to me. The guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable who provided us with a great deal of information about the book and movie as well as the general history of the area. My only complaint is their is just too much walking. As a reference, I am in good health and can walk a decent number of blocks. A tour of 1 1/2 hours would seem more appropriate.

Hello Cman - Thanks for the review, and I'm glad you basically enjoyed the tour. As far as tour length, that's influenced by a multitude of factors - no. of guests, their physical condition, how much time spent on answering questions. group participation in discussions, etc. Frankly, i think around two hours (the current length most of the time) is about right for this particular tour of downtown Savannah. Some may disagree. In any event - Thanks for walking with me! Martin Sinderman, owner Savannah Sidewalk Tours LLC

Savannah is as lovely as city as we expected, and our tour guide Martin captured its narrative beautifully. He was funny, engaging, open to questions – and invariably ready with an answer to each. I would highly recommend.

So much fun! If you're a fan of the book and/or the movie definitely take this tour. You learn interesting secrets from the period when the book was written, when the movie was filmed and stuff that happened afterwards. A great way to get the tea, as it were.

Our tour guide Martin was terrific. He knew so much history about Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. It was a small group so it made it even more personable and he also shared some Savannah history with the group. Martin even offered suggestions on places to eat, shop & visit. I highly recommend this tour and hope Martin is your guide.

Our guide was compassionate with his delivery and very knowledgeable about both the book and the movie. He didn't rush anyone, found many shady spots ong the way and a planned break along the way. We were able to ask questions and he provided Savannah history along the way

Great way to learn about Savannah. The tour guide was entertaining and the small size made it a lot of fun. Also no open container laws makes it a drinking tour if you want it to be.
