Arctic Circle Full-Day Adventure from Fairbanks
From US$195.00
Visit the Arctic Circle and explore Alaska’s vast wilderness on a full-day guided tour from Fairbanks. Take walks along the Yukon River and above the tree line on Finger Mountain, pass by part of the massive Trans-Alaska Pipeline, and take a commemorative photo at the iconic Arctic Circle sign. You won’t miss a thing when you travel along the Dalton Highway with a guide who shares commentary about the region’s history and landscape.
What to Expect
Start your day with pickup at your Fairbanks hotel in the early morning. From there a comfortable van takes you along the Dalton Highway.
Pause at the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, one of the planet's biggest crude oil pipelines, and then stop at a rustic truck stop for breakfast. Next, continue across the Yukon River to Finger Mountain, where you hike a high plateau with sweeping views.
Upon arrival at the Arctic Circle, have your photo taken in front of the Arctic Circle sign, and receive your official Arctic Circle certificate.
Venture back across the Yukon River and stop for a look around the riverbank. Purchase dinner at Yukon Camp and stop in the tiny town of Joy to visit the Alaska Arctic Circle Trading Post.
Expect to return to Fairbanks around 10pm after a long day that showcases the magic of remote Alaska.

First of all, know the weather was crummy (until we arrived at the destination). This is a very long trip from Fairbanks. But, if you're bound and determined to visit the Arctic Circle stop this is a pretty good way to go. We traveled on...More

I am gluten free, but not celiac. I don't have a bad reaction to gluten, but I do have some reaction. I recommend you take food with you. Most of what's available is sandwiches and pie, etc. Not GF.

Only to select hotels. You'd have to call the company to see what hotels they drop off at.

Very little walking on the frequent stops. You can choose to walk around or stay near bus. Easy for any age. The bus is a bumpy ride though if that makes a difference.
