          Great Alaskan Tour
The tour was awesome! We had Gina as our guide and she definitely went above and beyond to make our experience great. The Ice museum was nice, the martinis made it even better. The food was good at the restaurant. The hot springs were not crowded and fun for everyone. The locker rooms were a bit outdated but overall not too bad. The Northern lights were better than we could have ever expected. Every part of the tour was well planned which made for wonderful memories. Gina did an incredible job making sure we’d get the best view of the lights possible too!

Easily One of the Best Alaskan Tours
Gina was an awesome guide. My family and I had a blast and Gina did her best to make sure we’d get the best view of the northern lights possible. She was great to talk to and more than willing to help take photos and set up camera settings for the best shots of the lights. I tried the smoked salmon pasta at the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. Highly highly recommend trying it. The spring was so cool too, it wasn’t insanely crowded and there was lots of space to explore. There’s also different heat levels the deeper you go and the closer you get to the vents. There’s also indoor options and even an outdoor hot tub.

          Amazing lights
We were the first to get picked up. Total of 9 plus guide in our group. Drive to resort was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. One person saw a moose. Got to the resort and checked in. Tour of the Ice Museum was first on the agenda. There were 3 or 4 other groups so it was crowded. Museum was smaller than I expected but still nice. Appletini was great. Dinner was the next thing on the agenda. Food was good. I had the halibut. Clam chowder was the best. Lots of clams. Hot Springs was next. Felt good. Some areas were too hot for me. Came out and cooled off in the pool. Locker room was crowded. Not enough room for everyones stuff with people coming and going. Lights started to show before midnight. Guide suggested we go and find a better location. We did and it was amazing. Very active. Green and touches of pink. Very bright at times. Glad we chose to look for a better view.

          Northern lights
Kevin was very knowledgeable and a great host! Although the KP Index was not what we were hoping, he was making great efforts to find it. All the fun facts were cool too! Would highly recommend!

          Horrible
This was the worst excursion we went on. The told us we were going up the mountain and see the Northern Lights but when we got there it was not offered. We stayed in a ice house waiting on all the group because they only opening the door twice to get and to get out. The resturant was very expensive and the food was horrible.

Best experience of the trip by far!
Kathy gave us the best ride. There were four of us in our group and she was able to read our comfortable speed level and adjusted accordingly. We enjoyed going fast so we were able to see a lot on our tour. We went moose hunting along the way with success! Kathy was a wealth of knowledge and gave us some local tips for other activities while we’re here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We debated going again before we flew out it was that much fun!

          Greg is the best
Greg was a great tour guide, knowledgeable and friendly, keeping us all entertained as he drive us to see the Aurora and to experience the Chena Hot Springs! And when the Aurora suddenly appeared while we were driving, he immediately pulled over to a dark spot with no lights to make sure we could have the best experience.

          Oh what a night!!!
Our guide Christopher was awesome! He had lots of local culture, information, and history to share. He set up everything at the hot springs from the ice museum tour to dinner to soaking and when we were ready to go I. Search of the auroras, he took us to various locations to get the best views and opportunities. We had a cloudy night, but he tried. He gave us a list of viewing options for on our own which we found great success at the following night. I’d highly recommend this tour and cross your fingers you get Chris!! Oh, and the hot springs…🩷

          Absolutely amazing!
Our tour guide, Gina, was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable about all aspects of aurora sightseeing ...never realized how much is involved in ensuring best possible chances of seeing this amazing natural phenomenon. She took the necessary time and steps to ensure her guests could see this ...for many, this is a bucket list item and, because of her efforts, we all enjoyed an amazing time! While this is now checked off my bucket list, I definitely hope to do this again!

Unfortunately we did not see the Northern Lights due to cloud cover and snow, but that was no the fault of the guide or the tour, in fact the tour guide (Jim) was very friendly and helpful and made the trip enjoyable. My only issue was with the van. We were the last to be picked up at our hotel so we ended up in the back seats. We could not hear the guide and due to window frosting on the inside we could not see out. I suggest the tour operator give the guide a microphone and maybe scrapers for the windows (I tried to use my plastic room key and it helped a little). Overall I would recommend this excursion and was very happy with Alaska Wildlife. They texted us with the pick up time and were on time for all three tours we took.

We took a trip the Aurora Borealis Lodge and it was incredible. We got to enjoy the Northern Lights and sip hot coco. This is a once in a lifetime time kind of experience and I highly recommend to take the trip and take a tour with Alaska Wildlife Guide and ask for Mok!

First, I am aware that seeing the northern lights is a roll of the dice on any night so I kept my expectations in check. But for the cost of this excursion to see them, I do expect a few niceties. The lodge provided dollar store cookies (🤮) and bad coffee for the 3 hour wait for a lights showing. There were more people than comfortable seats. Our guide, though informative on the drive out, gave no updates, no interesting stories…just sat with her phone while we waited. Did get a 10-15 minute glimpse of the lights, but compared to other ‘Aurora watching’ tours my husband and I went on, this was unsatisfactory - boring - not worth the substantial fee.

We did two nights of the Aurora Lodge Tour which took us to two different locations. I am not sure how the lodges are chosen but they were quite different from each other.

The first was a business dedicated to hosting Aurora Tour groups. They had a large space with tables and couches. There were games to play while waiting. They had complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, wine, and other treats. They give a lecture that explains the science behind the northern lights as well as having cameras set up inside so you can monitor what's happening outside without being outside.

The second place was a private home that had lots of sitting areas facing large windows. They had coffee and hot chocolate with oreo cookies. The owner was outside most of the time and announced when he saw the stirrings of an Aurora. Then you would go outside on a large deck.

One thing that is messaged over and over no matter what tour you're on is that there is no guarantee you will see lights. You can try to guess by the weather but our experience showed that was not predictable.

The first night was clear with amazing stars. We had high hopes. No lights.

Second night - cloudy and chance of rain. Low expectations. Clouds cleared and the Aurora showed up. It was amazing.

Both guides were good. The reality is they pick you up, drive you to the place and return you to the hotel.

Had an awesome time! Didn't get to see the Aurora, but the company there and the lodge itself was super cute and very warm. Stayed until the early morning hoping for the lights to show, alas, the clouds were too heavy in the air and the lights must have been just as sleepy as we were. It's not always garunteed to see the lights themselves, but the experience and thrill of even going was more than I hoped for.
Our guide was awesome! She was super informative, and spritefully full of cheer despite the lights not being present. We constantly monitored the skies and made every possible minute count as we waited, with warm conversation, a relaxed and homey snow covered log cabin, and plenty of drinks and snacks to feel right at home. I would 100% recommend this tour and hope that anyone who does gets to see this amazing spacial phenomenon.

Gina was our tour guide and she was awesome! We saw an amazing display of the northern lights. She was very knew things about the lights, the science, the ways to make sure you saw the best display that we had not heard before. The lodge was casual, laid back and relaxing and all emphasis was on having a great viewing experience. This was a bucket item for us and it did not disappoint - The lights were so great - even when we were told the number was low to be able to view anything - we still got an absolutely awesome show! Highly recommend

Unfortunately for us, the weather forecast turned out to be correct about the clouds. The sky was completely covered and while we were expecting active activity, we were not able to see the lights at all from the lodge. BUT, we still had a very enjoyable trip with Tony! He is full of interesting life stories and we were very entertained for the entire duration of the tour. The lodge was very cozy and nice and we were provided with hot cocoa/tea and cookies to nibble on while waiting. Luck wasn’t on our side this time but I’d definitely recommend touring with Tony! I think on a clearer night, you’d be able to see a beautiful view of the lights.

Rebecca was a very good guide. She is local and very friendly.

We were picked up from our hotel and taken to lodge called Aurora Pointe that was 15mins away from Fairbanks. We were lucky enough to view the Aurora the night we went. After that we were dropped back to our hotel.

We paid 260 per person. If you want to save money, you can reserve a spot at Aurora Pointe for $40 - $50 per person. Then, drive directly to the lodge in your rented car or Uber. Paying $200 for a shuttle service seems a bit too much.

Hello! We are very happy that you had an excellent experience on our tour. The current price for our Aurora Lodge tour at the time of this review is $145. The round trip Uber fare from downtown Fairbanks to the Aurora Pointe Lodge would be approximately $80. With a $50 ticket, we feel that having a local guide drive you there and back for only $15 more is quite the bargain! -Alaska Wildlife Guide
