This was an amazing experience. You not only get to enjoy a dog sled tour-you get to meet all of the dogs. They have a nice set up for you to warm up after and offer several choices of hot beverages. Definitely something I would do again if we come back to Alaska.

We took 2 tours with them- a dog sledding tour and the Northern Lights tour. The dog sledding tour was very adventurous! They were very accommodating of our comfort and ensured that we had warm enough gear. Keeley took pictures for us half way through the trip. The dogs are so sweet, you can tell that they are well cared for. As for the Northern lights tour, they picked us up at our hotel, which made it nice to not have to worry about driving on the dark, icy roads. We spent the evening in the dome, which was warm and cozy. They offered snacks and drinks and made sure that we had everything we needed! Keeley and Kirk were very knowledgeable about the Northern lights and shared the app that shows the activity level of the aurora. Throughout the night, they were happy to take pictures for us, which turned out great, despite the fact that the aurora wasn't super active. Their camera really captured the vibrant colors, better than the naked eye. We would totally recommend Howling Bay Kennels for tours in the future!

The dog sledding was the most amazing. Kevin and Tabitha were very friendly and had explained all in details and very much informative. They made us feel very welcomed and comfortable with all the dogs.
We also did the northern lights. It was amazing.
I definitely recommend Howling bay kennels.
And also I don’t do reviews unless that I am very satisfied which is I am totally.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Howling Bay; wife and I made the reservation in person while taking a drive in the area. Arranged for the wife to take a private tour the following morning. When we arrived my wife assisted Tabitha in selecting and harnessing the dogs and off they went. About half way down the trail, and after some instruction, Tabitha allowed my wife to drive the sled while she (Tabitha) sat as a passenger. Tabitha explained the details of their business, the care of the dogs, and took lots of photos of my wife on the sled and with the dogs. At the conclusion of the trip, my wife assisted in unharnessing the dogs and feeding them frozen chunks of salmon. While the dog sled trip was taking place, I stayed in the dome office with Kevin and his daughter. After learned that Kevin is a USMC vet, we exchanged military stories. Kevin and Tabitha run a top rate, family oriented business with plans to expand into other offerings. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

I had a fantastic time at the kennel with Tabitha and Kevin (and their little baby girl!!) during my visit. The dogs are amazing and was so glad to be able to spend as much time and take as many photos as I wanted to after our ride. Tabitha and Kevin were welcoming and I would highly suggest making a visit. See you and the pups in the summer!

My wife and I booked a nighttime dog sledding experience with Howling Bay Kennels and it was one of the highlights of our Alaskan adventure. Tabitha picked us up at our Fairbanks hotel and drove us to their home, a short 20-30 mins away. Immediately we knew we were in for a special, uniquely Alaskan, experience. After a brief orientation in their custom-built Yurt-like igloo building, we walked down to the kennels and met the team that would be pulling us through the snowy night.

The ride through the dark forest was unforgettable. My wife got to mush with Tabitha on the back of sled on the ride home, while I fulfilled my natural gifting (relaxed ballast on the front). We both got what we wanted!

When we returned, we played some more with all the dogs before settling in for a home cooked meal of fresh salmon, vegetables, and potatoes with wine back in the warm yurt. Tabitha and Kevin treated us like royalty!

It was overcast after dinner, so Kevin offered to take us out of town in hopes of finding a clearing from which we could see the Aurora. Thanks to his local expertise we did just that. He drove us all night! To a deserted lake with a clear sky view where we waited. We were ready to give up, but with his technology forecasting a better opportunity soon, he convinced us to waited a bit longer. Boy are we glad we did, because the Aurora in all her glory came dancing into view while Kevin served as our photographer to preserve the memory!

Great experience, delivered by a delightful couple, who are real Alaskan Can-Do people! 7 out of 5 stars in our opinion!!!

AMAZING! This is a must do adventure! Absolutely loved Howling Bay Kennels. Dog sledding was so much fun and the dogs were beautiful and energetic. It was fun learning about the dogs and seeing their personalities. It is obvious how much the owners love the dogs and their business. We lost a cell phone in the snow during sledding and they happily helped us find it. I will be going back next time I'm in Fairbanks!

If I have any friends coming to Fairbanks, I am going to recommend this tour company. Kevin and Tabitha are amazing and such great company. They are so knowledgeable and kind. The dogs are so playful and fluffy, they love pulling the sled and playing in the snow. They have all the gear needed for the two of us. I only wish I would have did our other tours with them during our stay but we prebooked elsewhere unfortunately. Their business is going to grow, they have a lot of future plans beyond the dogsledding. I highly recommend this tour!
