Leslie provided an excellent oral history of Brooklyn. She was warm and friendly and ensured that we not only saw the tourist attractions but also the areas that were important and popular to those who call Brooklyn home. I’m not a photographer and knew I would only be using my phone or small digital camera to take photos; nonetheless Leslie made sure I felt comfortable during the tour. The Brooklyn Photo Tour was an excellent way to see Brooklyn, learn some history and see some great landmarks. BTW~ It was refreshing to see Leslie interact with some of local business owners throughout Brooklyn while on the tour. Her love for Brooklyn and photography is unmistakable.

I booked this tour at the last minute hoping that I would be able to get some great photos of Brooklyn and I was not disappointed. Leslie, our guide, is a Brooklyn native and she was able to give some history on Brooklyn as it was, and a unique perspective on its transformation. In addition to providing history, Leslie went out of her way to help me take some wonderful shots of Brooklyn that I will appreciate for years to come. I think what I appreciated most about the tour was that it did not feel like a tour. It felt like I was walking with an old friend and they were sharing parts of their life. In addition, I have been on several photo tours elsewhere where the guide is also taking pictures, which in my view takes away from the experience. Leslie helped me frame my pictures and showed me some examples of her work that were inspiring. My girlfriend and I definitely got more than what we probably paid for from the experience. It was my girlfriend's first time to New York and Leslie definitely made it memorable for the both of us. Even after we left New York, we were still talking about the tour and how enjoyable it was. If you want to photograph something different in New York besides the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge (although I took pics of it on this tour), Leslie provides a uniqueness that will make the experience more than memorable.
