About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 50cindyx0 contributions9495004899Very terrible experience, worst travel agency! After the payment, no confirmation, no service, and very bad attitude when you call them, kindly reminder never contact this travel agency, give me the worst memoryWritten 21 October 2024
- luttsy0 contributionsYOU HAVE TO SEE THISAwesome!!! Loved our guide Shari. Amazing. I loved the factt they accommodate people with mobility issues. No one should miss this.Written 17 October 2024
- Charles R0 contributionsSherry was a great tour guide! Our tour operator Sherry ( little one who talks a lot) was wonderful. She was amazing at showing us the high points, and her knowledge of picture taking was awesome!Written 16 October 2024
- Patricia O0 contributionsHighly recommendAntelope Canyon is a beautiful example of nature’s gift to us all! We had the best, most enthusiastic, well informed, and interesting guide, Jane. The beauty of the canyon and Jane made it a wonderful tour!Written 13 October 2024
- Steve S0 contributionsUpper Antelope CanyonTrip Advisor is charging you more than double to book through their website ($330 for my wife &I). $80 @ the window. 7:30 a.m. time window had many, many available slots. We were told to arrive 45 minutes early or your slot would be given to others - no refunds. Kinda shady, I'd say. We arrive more than 45 minutes early so we don't forfeit our money, or worse, the experience (which was beautiful). Gate is closed, no employees have arrived when parked on highway with other cautious guests at 6:40 a.m.. Employee shows up to open gate after 6:45 and then we wait in line to get our tickets. You don't get tickets in advance. You pay in advance and are given instructions to arrive at the ticket office. Several employees start rolling in but tickets office is still closed. Finally at 7:00 - ticket office opens and a rude woman starts handing out tickets - zero customer service skills and not a pleasant person at all. Highlight of the morning was meeting our guide, Roger. Knowledgeable, kind, fun, etc. He likes his job and likes people. Gave us a fantastic tour and really turned my the event from sour to sweet. Pro tip: If you're staying for a couple of days - walk up to window at 7:25 and it'll be a much better time than a knucklehead like myself who paid double and waited almost 60 minutes for the same experience as a walk up customer!?!?!Written 12 October 2024
- Pablo W0 contributionsNice place, really mediocre tour guide, transportation and operatorThey ask you to arrive way more in advance of what’s needed, they have you waiting in a very uncomfortable place. Then they put you in a bench in the pickup of a large truck, hot, dusty and very, very bumpy, almost dangerous, no belts, no handles to grab, nothing. Not recommended for old people or kids. Then our guide didn’t explain almost anything while we were able to see the other guides receiving a lot of information. Some people tipped the tour guide in advance so she was like their personal photographer and the rest had to take pictures very fast and treated very different, despite the really expensive tickets, way more than as advertised. Then the ride back to the parking was the same, hot, dusty, bumpy. The only good thing was the canyon itself, really nice place and sights, but the operator is really damaging its image, try to go with another tour if possible The only nice thing is the place itself, beautiful canyon and sights, but the operator and guide experience really damages itWritten 29 September 2024
- Sherpa5584130 contributionsPLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE 9:30 TOUR IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANTELOPE CANYON AT PRIME TIME, WHICH IS NEAR NOON.PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE 9:30 TOUR IF YOU WANT TO SEE ANTELOPE CANYON AT PRIME TIME, WHICH IS NEAR NOON. THIS IS WHY THE TOUR RUINED MY ENTIRE TRIP: “Your booking is now confirmed for Antelope Canyon Prime Time Glen Canyon, Horseshoe Bend 4 hour Sightseeing Tour. Thanks again for booking with Tripadvisor” 1)THE 9:3O TOUR IS NOT PRIME TIME. PRIME TIME IS AROUND NOON I made this mistake because I did not read the fine print: it does say that the tour of Upper Antelope Canyon is at 9:10. Because it said it was a 4 hour tour, I thought that it meant the canyon tour was at the end of the 4 hour tour. 2) IT IS NOT A 4 HOUR TOUR; IT IS A 3 HOUR TOUR: It is advertised as a 4 hour tour, but we were actually on a 3 hour tour, as stated by every person doing the actual tour informed us. 3) USING THE TOUR WASTED OUR TIME: We got up a little at 6 a.m. to make sure we had eaten and checked out before we boarded the bus at 8 a.m. We got on the wrong bus, even after I pulled out my e-ticket, which the friver said I didn’t need yet. While waiting for the people at the next hotel (who did not get up early) it was discovered that we were not on the 4 hour trip, we were on the 3 hour trip—even though I showed them the booking receipt. We had to go back to where we started to get on the 3 hour tour bus. 3) I AM DOING YOUR RESEARCH FOR YOU: I did not do my homework. We could have driven to Antelope Canyon from PAGE, AZ in 18 minutes,8 miles from the town. It cost $100 if you buy it from Navajo Tours, $120 for the 11;15 prime time tour. Horseshoe Bend is 8 minutes. 5 miles from town. It costs $10 per vehicle. The Glen Canyon Dam Overlook is free. 4) DO NOT USE A THIRD PARTY Book directly through ANTELOPE CANYON NAVAJO TOURS. (929)691-0244, NAVAJOTOURS.COM, antelopenavajotours@gmail.com My bus driver connected me to an administrator of Navajo Tours who explained to me that, because I booked through a 3rd party, nothing could be done. The Antelope Canyon tour was great, the booking of this tour was a giant mistake on my part.Written 26 September 2024

- Tanyabogue0 contributionsUpper Antelope Canyon Early TourIt was a great tour of Upper Antelope Canyon, our tour guide Jay was fabulous. He helped us w our camera settings to get beautiful pictures and told great stories throughout the tour! I highly recommend the 7:05 tour w the lights from the morning sun, during the week early there were no other tours there but us! And going early it’s nice and cool in Az August. It takes a total of about 90 minutes.. getting through the actual canyon is not a far walk. When we left it was pretty crowded.. definitely checking out Lower Antelope Canyon next time. Well worth the money for the experience especially if you love photographyWritten 29 August 2024

- Deb T0 contributionsPhenomenal location to visitWe were lucky enough to have the canyon to ourselves so it was a brilliant experience with a great guide. I’d imagine if it were wall to wall people, it might detract from the experience BUT it was gorgeous. We took this tour to avoid the walk in, which was beneficial to our group.Written 27 July 2024
- madelond20150 contributionsBoek niet via TripAdvisor je betaalt dubbele! The tour is great really beautiful and with a great guide who gives you advise how to take the best pictures. But don’t buy it here on TripAdvisor. We paid double the price. It’s $120,- p.p. We are with five so that would be $600,- For the tour at 11.15 and here we had to pay $1.145,- for five persons for the booking via TripAdvisor!!Written 24 July 2024

The guide is not professional as we asked her questions regarding the formation of canyons. She couldn’t answer our questions. Besides the shapes of rocks are not as beautiful as lower canyon. As we have joined the lower antelope tour in the morning, those rocks in canyon X are simply incomparable.

We had the most amazing experience! Arleen was our guide. Her Navajo family has owned this particular cavern area, but they only opened it to the public 7 years ago. It’s incredible. There is one steeper area to walk down and back up but most of the hiking is easily done.

Do not buy this thinking you will be hiking upper or lower antelope canyon. This is a different part of the canyon. The tour was still beautiful but a bit of a disappointment when we found that out. Not canyon x tours fault. The tour guide was very nice and took many pictures.

This was the only tour available at the time I was going to be in Page, and it is fantastic. Our guide Mark was very knowledgable and shared many insights about the canyon as we walked through. I'm handicapped and unable to do strenuous hikes, so Canyon X was just right for me. If you think you would like to go on this tour, consider the photo tour, because we were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted, and go at our own pace.

I had come to Page with my daughter and family. My daughter and son in law were running a 55 k and I took my grand daughters to Canyon X. It was 12 miles out of town easy to find. Our tour guide Vangie was wonderful. She was informative, friendly and she offered technical help to take better pictures plus offering to take our pictures. The canyon was incredible. Amazing sight to see. The steps back up to the top was difficult plus the sand at the top was hard to walk in. The description says should be able to walk 1000 ft but not that it was steps down and back up. Also directions were outdated. No covid release or masks needed and no bottled water given. I also found multiple prices for same trip. However, we loved the experience, canyons were amazing and the people friendly.

I recommend this your only because the slot was beautiful. If you can look beyond the lack of customer service. Proceed. Our tour guide was ok, very stoic, but helpful and knowledgeable. The check in was least desirable. We arrived early and was greeted with barking of many orders. Then due to lack of whatever, they forgot to put our names down and were last to enter the crowded van. Was somewhat rushed through. If you do not mind being regarded as cattle, and as if you they are doing you a personal favor by letting you visit their slot, move forward. I would not use this company again.

We were torn between this tour and the Upper/Lower. The price difference made the decision for us. I don’t see how the other slot canyon experience could be any better. Our tour guide Arlee was phenomenal! Highly recommend.

My daughter (15 years old) and I took this tour. It was a good length of time, a good short walk; down and up to the canyon. The canyon itself has several interesting features. We were in small groups and able to take photos of everything we wanted. Our experience was the staff was helpful and friendly.
