About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- maxfields20170 contributionsShould have been so much more....Hmm the Secrets of Stunning Bali should have been the highlight of our holiday and this tour was picked from the itinerary to be presented even though extremely pricey. Firstly we booked through booking.com and 2 days prior when finding out about pick up through Asian Trails the contact given advised us they did not partner with them and they would not be picking us up as they knew nothing of this tour. It ended up being through another company Bali Jeep Tours that the tour is actually run through. We suffered a lot of stress as we were passed from person to person and eventually were told the tour was on. Thus communication is 100% lacking and had we waited to check up on pick up time believe that the tour may not have ever occured. Being relieved the tour commenced but it was not wonderful like the write up. I feel so much more could and should have been done- especially when I compare to the calibre of some of the other Bali tours that we have done. The tour did NOT keep to the itinerary provided and they did not show us all of Stunning although there were some amazing views. When we attended at a local house to have coffee we were instructed to sit on a mat in an area. We never were told of the house compound- nor showed the area. Instead the driver chatted amongst others and then said it was time to leave. We also didn't do a lot in the itinerary and was not a 10 hour tour. We did NOT have lunch with a local family as in the itinerary but were at a resort to eat. We wanted the authentic and why we booked the tour but didn't get that. The Temple that we were taken to was not a good example of Stunning Bali either as around it was littered completely of rubbish and not in harmony. On the day our tour guide Domi forgot we were the customer and was not really present for us in sharing knowledge and was more interested in creating his own video tour of his day out in the country for his own purposes. We found it hard to gain his attention as he wafted off talking into his phone and videoing his personal experiences continuously. It was very annoying. He stopped briefly when asked if he could stop his personal pursuit of blogging only then to resume again. The views of the rice fields were nice and going for a drive through villages was nice but was it a great tour and worth the huge amount of money asked? Definitely and unfortunately not. It should have been great as in the itinerary write up but that isn't what our tour was as a cheaper sub-par modified version was created for us. There are much better Bali tours to go on.Written 16 September 2024
- AnthonyS8340 contributionsMeh !Very Disappointing ...... You stand in one long line after another , after another being herded like cattle to finally walk through the animal enclosures that are two thirds empty. The place is ''run down'' and blighted. Then you are loaded into a caged truck like sardines and taken for a short ride to see some animals . Their adds feature the one trained tiger that will jump from his fake rock to the top of the truck cage to eat some chicken. Big deal, go to Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai if you want to see tigers. The buffet dinner was just O.K. You spend much more time standing in crowded lines than actually viewing animals. Save your money and go to the fantastic Bali Bird park and reptile park next to it instead !!Written 16 March 2024
- BlushingBride990 contributionsGuardian angels are best!Because we didn’t speak the local language, and there was lack of public transportation, we quickly realized the best way to enjoy our dream trip to Bali without complications was to hire a driver and guide. Ketut and Sugi were wonderful. They treated us like their sisters, always paying attention to details and to our safety. They could translate texts I received about my SIM card. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous holiday. The itinerary for us followed all our specific requests. I can’t wait to return and would hire them again. Highly recommended!Written 20 November 2023
- Central-Aus0 contributionsMefull!!! Mm mmmmmOur guide Lasmini and Nawi make you feel like you’re more than a guest, more like friends hanging out and cooking together. Lasmini took us to the locals market (starts at 3am and finishes at 9am) we went at 8am to suit our desire for a sleep in. Some stall holders were starting to pack up, but the majority were still open. Her knowledge of both traditional and Australian names for the produce was amazing. We were introduced to some spices at one stall and given information on there properties and where we would be using them in our cooking, we were also able to purchase some of those spices to take home (the value was amazing, we purchased ground galangga, lezard galangga, saffron and mild satay sauce cubes ( just add hot water). We also picked up red dragon fruit, white mango and mangostein to add to our breakfast fruit. (Mangostein is now my new favourite fruit). After a leisurely breakfast and chillax, we meet Nawi and Lasmini at the cooking hut at 11am for our lessons. As there were 2 of us doing the lessons we got to choose one menu each and decided to share the meals we made. Which meant we could try everything on offer. First up we made the ‘mother sauce’ for the main course. Then we moved on to making our soups, mushroom & lime soup and a seafood soup. Both recipes were super easy to follow and quick to cook. We had a table set up for us overlooking the fruit & vegetable garden, it was a stunning view to accompany our meal. Lasmini helped us take lots of pictures and videos of our experience also. Once we were finished our soups, we started cooking our main course of nasi goreng & chicken curry & steamed rice. This was also very easy to follow and quick to cook! Both dishes were 10/10 for us. Last up was our desserts - pandan crepes with palm sugar coconut & jackfruit, and caramelised banana & jackfruit in palm sugar. We were very full but still had room in our dessert stomachs 🤣 these were our favourite meals of the day! So yummy and not overly sweet, they were both really lovely. We had the best day learning and eating Balinese cooking with great, friendly guides and chefs and will definitely be trying these meals in our own kitchens at home! Would highly recommend if you’re staying at Wapa Di Ume or anywhere else in Ubud to try this class!Written 19 September 2023
- PriscillaF0 contributionsNice toilet and breezeWhen visiting the rice fields there is a cafe that has a nice toilet and breeze that glows though which is lovely. The food is a good price although a little weird. The chicken satay a were super over cooked and dry. We ordered a palm sugar and nana dish but what we got was totally not what we expected either! I’d suggest grab a Drink only!Written 24 March 2023
- PriscillaF0 contributionsUnderwhelmingWe went here thinking yum yum yum. There were tasters so that was good to sample before you purchase. The tours and factory are closed due to renovations so we were limited to the small shop. The chocolate is nice but not smooth the way we like it. Is it worth stopping in to? May as well but hopefully more to see when you do.Written 24 March 2023
- rcyas0 contributionsBeautiful rock formations in a peaceful tropical settingAbout an hour and a half drive out of Makassar is the village of Rampang-Rampang. There is a boat launch and you travel through mangrove and other forest trees through beautiful karst rock formations. The scenery is lovely, and the surroundings peaceful. At the end you are able to get out and wander on boardwalk pathways through rice paddy fields and perhaps stop at a small stall for tea, food, or even better - kelapa mudah - a young coconut they open for you to enjoy the coconut water and then scrape out the tender flesh. So refreshing! There were caves you could explore, but we didn't really want to go that far, so just stuck to the boardwalks. After that we went to the Karst garden that was just about a half an hour away. That was also beautiful - the rock formations are like sculptures in a peaceful garden. It was a fun get-away from the hectic scene in Makassar.Written 11 March 2023
- archibalda0 contributionsDon't think twice! Sign up for it!We all absolutely loved every second, even the friend who burns water and is a self-described picky eater. Chef was charming and patient, learning classic Balinese dishes was tremendous fun, and eating it all was delicious. Oh....and the cocktails are to die for! Don't miss this incredibly good value experience which includes market, class, apron, lunch and diploma.Written 28 December 2022

- Jackson F0 contributionsIt was interesting and somewhat spiritualThe scenes of the area were one of a kind. The background of the jungle with the temple were very memorable. The people of the temple were playing music while worshipping. The rain began to fall but the people were still worshipping while playing music. I would definitely go backWritten 20 October 2022

- 321metten0 contributionswatersports for allI think it was too windy and too many people on the water, but okay to try :-) there are alot of other watersports going on here so you have to look out, I tried snorkling too but due to all the boats sailing around the water was not still, so not good to do that for kids at least. A lot to look at, but too many people at one time here, but the guides are very helpfull with eferyting and there are many different waterthings to try, so go for it and see for yourselves, but look out for your kids , the beach is niceWritten 18 March 2020
- richardvincent20200 contributionsGreat day out on catermeranNever done a day out like this before but would do do again. Collected from hotel by driver on time. Booked in at base in Buenos and given drink and briefing. Trip had 15 visitors .. French, British, German, Spanish, British, Korean, Chinese mainly adults but also 2 young children. Plentiful pastries, fruit and water (no alcohol on board) during trip across to Lembongan Island. Sat out on deck. Snorkeling over coral reef was spectacular and easy for complete beginners. Millions of colourful tropical fish. On to Waka beach club for a substantial and freshly cooked lunch. Some then went for a visit of local village, others relaxed by pool or on pure white beach yards away. An idyllic setting. Crew and staff all polite, friendly and professional. Back to hotel with same driver (who returned next day with my sunglasses I'd dropped under seat .. thank you). A great day out, not cheap but well worth it. Highly recommended.Written 15 February 2020

- Rajesh B0 contributionsA bit tiring, but worthwhileFascinating temple complex - worth more time than we could give it. We followed it up with a nearby performance of the epic Ramayana, which was excellent.Written 19 December 2019
