          Excellent service for transfer between JFK & Newark Airports
          We booked a car on-line with Carmel just hours before we embarked on a very long flight to New York. This occured because ETS Shuttles who we had arranged a transfer with from JFK to Newark Airport cancelled their shuttle just prior to us leaving. We contacted the Carmel office when we arrived, the driver arrived at the time indicated and we had a smooth and uneventful trip to Newark. In fact the driver kindly accommodated our request to change the end destination from the Newark Airport, to our nearby hotel. We received a prompt follow up email from Carmel, checking we were satisfied with the service we received. Based on our expereince, we would recommend this company to others requiring a transfer between airports.

          carmel is a bad car service company
          Never use Carmel, they will leave you stranded at the airport. Not accountable, customer service is atrocious and they will lie to you that a car is on its way. Better off taking a NYC taxi.

          Avoid Carmel Car & Limousine Service!
          VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE! We booked mini van curb pickup. They promised online the arrival time is within 10 minutes. However, the car never showed up. The worst thing is that their operator kept telling us the car was coming, even sent us the picture of the car...then after 1 and half hour, still no car at all...when we called their headquater, they said, oh, we made a mistake, there is no available car now, we could cancel it....what??!!! The reason we booked this EXPENSIVE mini van is because it's midnight, we were afraid we cannot find transportation. after one and half hour waiting, you telling us cancelling it!!!! I said what if we cannot find transportation or it cost much more than we expected, the agent in NY told us, I quote"Well,I'm in new york, I don't know how much it cost in Maui. you have to pay whatever you need to pay . we won't make any compensation" . Basically, let us live with this condition. we have kids and grandparents, all tired after long flight...we ended up calling a taxi, surprisingly, the taxi(mini van) is only half of the price of the mini van carmel offered. TRY TO AVOID Carmel Car & Limousine Service!!!! Very messy management! Worst experience EVER!!!!!!

          BAD BUSINESS -RUN FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD
          This place is the worst! AI responds as management- will reply with... We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay! I don't need or want an apology I want my refund as promised by the alleged Front Desk Manager Eugeneal Jen Steed. We are at the end of the year and I have not received my refund or adjustment as promised by that deceitful person. FRAUD is the Practice and Culture of the British Colonial Hotel. . .PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY TO THIS CHARITY CASE HOTEL..... OBVIOUSLY, SOMEONE THERE NEEDS OUR MONEY AS THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT ARE IN CAHOOTS!

          Carmel does not care at all about there loyal customers!
          As a 15 year customer of Carmel, one thing has become clear; they don't give a crap about their customers. While any company can make a mistake, it is how they show Customer care that matters. Last week their driver decided not to pick us up at JFK.. standing 2 older people (one with Parkinson's) at JFK in the freezing cold. Terminal 4 is a mess now, and getting on a shuttle to a long taxi line with 2 bags was not an option for us. That is why we ordered a car to pick us up and paid extra to come inside to help us with our luggage. We ended up taking a pirate car (very scary) to our home in Manhattan. Carmel offered us a $12 credit! This was an insult!!! When I called the next day, they offered to pay me $20, even though I reasonably asked for at least my next JFK ride to be free. They declined and told me to " take the $20 or nothing". They could care less about their customers.. they have now lost a loyal customer. They should be deeply ashamed!

          office needs to read their own paperwork
          The car and driver were wonderful, helpful and timely. MY ROBLEM was with the office staff. I was to call upon landing , the agent who answered the call wanted information on specific hotel street address, which was already provided and confirmed prior to ride. I did not have ready access to this while exiting the plane and airport. HEAVY frustration with the office, but the car and driver were great

          Time to Use Another Car Service
          I've been using Carmel car service for nearly 20 years & was so disappointed in the service received in my last two trips this month. The quality of the car rentals is now more like, 'Rent a Wreck'. Both cars were old, dented, had worn or even ripped upholstery. Our driver for our return trip to JKF December 15, 2024, didn't check he was at the right address but instead was parked a block away! Luckily my husband suspected the driver wasn't in the right location so went looking for & found him. I would no longer recommend this service. Pay a little bit more and look for another private car service.

          Never hire Carmel car service
          If I could give a zero I would!!! I’ve used this car service for 15 years never having an issue, but this past weekend in NYC I experienced two separate occasions where they were absolutely awful. The first one was when we had a driver that I scheduled to take us from NYC to Hoboken, New Jersey… the car smelled hideously of cigarette smoke and was absolutely atrocious as far as dirty and trash. I called immediately after getting to New Jersey and explained to them what it happened and was given the runaround. I was told I would have someone return my call on Monday never spoke with anyone. The second incident happened on our trip from our hotel in NYC to LaGuardia airport. The driver was very rude when she called me as she arrived to our hotel l… all she said to me to @come out now!! No, thank you for choosing Carmel, no please would you mind coming out… it was just “come out now”!!! My sister, my nephew, and I all feared for our lives on the car ride to the airport. I am not exaggerating. Our driver cut several people off and drove at excessive speeds which included a lot of horn honking. I thought that she was going to cause a crash multiple times. I waited until we got to the airport to tell her this, but, when we got out, I looked at her and told her that she was absolutely the worst driver I have ever been with, and that she did not deserve to have a drivers license, and that she would be reported!! She pretended to act like she did not understand me, but I can assure you she did. Again, I immediately called Carmel and complained and told them that I would not be paying those $200 worth of services for a very unprofessional driver on both occasions and an unacceptable vehicle on both occasions as well. I did not mention, but the second ride to the airport also reeked of smoke. Again, Carmel did call me Monday evening once we arrive back into Atlanta, and I explained to them everything I’m saying here and told them I would not be paying for the services and they told me the call would be escalated and that I would be receiving a phone call back within 24 hours. Guess what, we’re now one week later and I’ve received no phone call back from Carmel. I have disputed the transaction charges with my bank account and will not be paying good riddance Carmel.

          Worth the expense
          The driver was very nice. There was a little mix up with meeting the driver but the dispatch was kind and responsive. Best that you go directly to the curb to wait and respond immediately when the driver texts. Nice vehicle. Very comfortable. Will use them again.

          Drive was rude and unprofessional
          Drive arrived on time but was very rude and actually yelled at us at one point. He realized that we did not appreciate his behavior and tried to be nice and talk to us. He was upset at the sizes of our suitcases. He said we should have ordered a larger car, I sure would have, but there were no suitcase sizes on the website. I ordered a car that holds 3 people and e bags, there was no mention of size.. I had to pay an extra $10.00, that is not the issue, his behavior and rudeness is not acceptable.. sorry to mention but his personal hygiene was also a problem. .. we will not use this company again or recommend it.. we have been using the Yellow Taxis, way better option ..

          Avoid it!
          Booked a car to JFK on Thursday 5th for Friday 6th. Got a confirmation by mail. Waited for the car that never arrived… Had to call to cancel it… Really disappointed by a service that was, once upon a time, excellent.

          First time Carmel Car customers - will be a repeat
          I booked two rides with Carmel in NYC on November 21, 2024, including one from JFK. The communication from both the dispatch center and driver, to ensure we were meeting at the same point in JFK, was excellent. The drivers were both punctual, amiable, and drove immaculate, well-maintained vehicles. I had a very positive experience using Carmel, and would absolutely recommend booking NYC transportation through them. The cost is comparable to an Uber, but the cars and customer support are a notch above.

          Tyrone was so friendly, kind, and easy to work with. Our plane was 5 hours delayed and he still met us at 1 AM with a smile & great personality!

        Vehicle failed to turn up for return journey to airport at end of holiday.
        Phoned company, who advised me that the driver was about to arrive at our hotel. Waited a further 10 mins and no driver had appeared?
        Phoned once again to be told "The driver is outside your hotel"!! --Not true--he was not there.
        I had to actually convince the dispatcher that the car was not outside as they would not beliveve me!
        It eventually transpired that the driver had been given the wrong address and was sitting waiting outside that address for us!
        Totally hopeless.
        Created a lot of stress at the end of our holiday as we thought we might miss our flight!
        Won't use this bunch ever again!
