Get picked up at your hotel in New Orleans to start your combination plantation and swamp tour trip, which lasts a bit more than 6 hours. The first stop is Destrehan Plantation. Established in 1787 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Destrehan Plantation remains the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley. We invite you to travel from the French and Spanish Colonial periods, through the Antebellum grandeur of the sugar barons, to the ravages of the Civil War and the rebirth of reconstruction. You will find yourself immersed in the rich history of Louisiana when French was the language, and the white gold of sugar drove the economy. Family stories of those free and enslaved set against the fabric of history will intrigue every visitor to the site.

          Great Tour
Great trip all around. Kenny was great. Got to see several alligators up close as well as a family of raccoons. Was also funny.

          Wonderful and fun!!!
This trip was amazing and fun. We took our youth group here and everyone loved it. It was educational and most importantly fun. We were all able to see the gators up close. I would return with my own girls just to this.

          Every boat was the "best"!
We had a large group book this trip (42 of us). The company easily fit us onto three of their large boats (14 on each). Throughout the entire tour, I was convinced our boat was having the "best" tour. When we all got back from seeing multiple alligators, learning about the history of the swamp and river system, and getting to hold a baby alligator, I was thoroughly impressed that all three boats felt they had the "best" experience. Each boat got to see alligators up close and hold a baby alligator as well. Each tour guide was phenomenal and got everyone excited. Even though we were in New Orleans for a national youth conference, many in our group said that the highlight of our entire trip was THIS swamp boat tour.

          Awesome swamp tour experience!!
This swamp tour was so fun!! Captain Ernie was so knowledgeable and interesting!! We learned so much and had such an awesome time. I think we were very fortunate and saw about a dozen alligators 🐊. I totally recommend this trip to anyone anytime and will do it again myself if the opportunity presents itself.

          We loved it!
We loved this airboat tour. The guide was knowledgeable about the area and wild life. He introduced us to Bubbles, Coolio, Kevin, and Gatorade. We learned so much about each of them. This is a tour you have to experience.

Fantastic tour! Robert was an exceptional tour guide on the bus - he kept everyone's interest with his unique way of relaying information as if he was telling a story! Oak Alley Plantation was wonderful - very enlightening about life on a plantation. Swamp Boat tour with Tom was amazing - learned all about life on the bayou. Highly recommend this tour! thank you GrayLine.

I loved the service that Steven gave us. He wasn’t our tour guide only our bus driver but he gave us a little History of the lovely New Orleans. The tour experience was remarkable. I would definitely book them again on my next trip. See you guys soon

          Great Tour!
Awesome experience! Captain Ernie has amazing knowledge and appreciation for the swamplands, and it was very insightful and fascinating to hear his stories and information about the swamp. The air boat tour was thrilling, zooming through some parts of the swamp and then slowly cruising through others, it was an amazing way to experience the different landscapes of the swamp

          Great experience
Great experience. Didn't use hotel pick up service as we had our own car. But what a great experience. Saw lots of Allogators and other wildlife travelling through the swamps. Really great guide. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company

We booked the Destrehan Plantation & Airboat Swamp Tour thru our points, memorable and informative tours . Really recommend it from start to finish. The tour company made arrangements for transportation directly from our hotel. Ms Cynthia called us 15 minutes before she picked us up in an SUV - she was our own private chauffeur for the morning . We had a delightful conversation with her, our first stop was the Destrehan Plantation. We were greeted and provided a map of the grounds. Our tour guide led us to a 10 minute informative little video - kind of like Cliff notes and then we started our tour with James (i think was his name) He was dressed in attire from that time period, he was very informative . Me and the Hubby are history geeks so we enjoyed listening . One of the highlights was that there was an original document signed by Thomas Jefferson about the Louisiana Purchase that we were able to witness (no pics though & kept under high security). It's the oldest and probably the smallest plantation in the area. Next Ms Cynthia made pit stop at Wendy's for quick bite & then dropped us off at Airboat location. Let me tell you it was a cold cold day . This was probably the best part of the day. Captain Ernie was fantastic, he showed us some small baby gators & other swamp friends. He told us that due to the cold and then time of the year the big gators were hibernating and somewhere in the mud hole sleeping. Capt. Ernie gave us great knowledge about gators, the bayou , and awesome airboat speed. Tour ended with a bus ride dropping everyone off at their respective hotels . Absolutely great day

I loved this tour, and I read the reviews on the baby alligator and how people felt it was inhumane but our tour guide said these alligators have a 30% chance of survival in the first 3 years of life. Their parents, predators and boats are many ways they can meet their demise, so with that in mind people need to chill. Holding the alligator made me so empathetic and amazed by this creature. When we went fast it was an amazing experience. Our tour guide was informative and had a hilarious humor and honestly knew how to work a crowd! I will come back again my next visit and even referred my friends that came in to town after we went!

One of the best days we've ever spent with a tour company. We took our 9 year old grandson, who was fascinated with both the plantation tour and the swamp. The tour of Destrehan Plantation was an unvarnished presentation of the slave-based economy, with a guide who was an expert in the history. Brad, our guide on the swamp tour, was so knowledgeable about animals, environmental change and degradation of the wetlands, and the economic impact of policy on the way of life of people living in the area. I HIGHLY recommend using this company. If you do both tours, take snacks and drinks for the bus. We were picked up at 8:15 and dropped off at 2:45.

Airboat was awesome - got us a bit wet to start but it's definitely an upgrade from the slower pontoon I did 10 years ago. Overall amazing tour - got lucky on a good sunny day and saw lots of gator, wildlife and fun boat. Oak alley is something to see to appreciate the beauty that it is, but also understand the tragedy of slavery and raise awareness of what the past was like and how to move forward.

Our tour started with a fantastic driver in a first class bus, and the trip was comfortable and pleasant. He was very personable and informative during the trip to and from the plantation and swamp tour.
The airboat ride was beyond expectations, it was exciting and informative. Our guide Rocky was native to the area and full of information, he ensured that we saw as much wild life as possible and introduced us to his professional assistant (baby alligator). Rocky was lots of fun and brought the tour to a whole new level of enjoyment.
Best experience of our first visit to New Orleans.
I would strongly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
