We did the 8pm tour so that by the time we finished around 10:30 it was a 5 min walk to Bourbon Street to end the night. I’m already a history buff and my husband found this tour online and said we need to go do it. Not only did we find out MORE than what I already knew but Adelle made it funny and enjoyable. Most tours you go on are…bland…and they just spit facts at you. She took us to spots we walked past about 5x and didn’t even notice it. Pirates alley was definitely a favorite hide away and you need to try the absinthe if you never had it, was definitely interesting because again if you never have learned about the alchemy itself…just wait!!! She even took us over to Frenchman street to end the tour and gave us literally so much history it was awesome. And also we’re from Pittsburgh and she just so happened to have lived there previously so that was an awesome bonus to kinda of “know” someone from home 🤣 12/10 I’ll be back to see her when I get my friends to come downWritten 9 October 2024

Randy was so funny, he was engaging, very knowledgeable and told some great stories. Loved his enthusiasm with the way he told the stories. He did a great job not going into too great of detail for my younger kiddos. As an adult I left wanting to know way more! We will definitely make an adult trip of it and do this tour again. Another thing I loved was he told stories of Hollywood stars who have lived here and little tidbits about shows pertaining to the area. We also were able to stop and use bathroom and also grab a cocktail. Great tour, will do again!!

Our family friendly ghost tour in the French Quarter was how we (family of four, two boys 10 & 12) kicked off our vacation. I really wanted to enjoy this tour but it just kept falling flat. The guide (won't mention names) was difficult to hear and understand at times. Often attempted to be funny but the humor was just kind of awkward and fell flat. The tour was ok in terms of combining some scary stories while mixing in some historical elements but it it was just missing the right vibe. Lacked the right energy. All the above is why I knocked off one star. The other star removal was due to our guide providing our group with an unsolicited referral to what he told us was a great family friendly must go to. authentic New Orleans restaurant for dinner. We took him at his word and walked 25 minutes from where the tour finished to get to this restaurant. It ended being a very basic bar with nothing resembling an authentic New Orleans dining experience. The restaurant did not allow children inside due to two gambling machines in the premises so NOT Child friendly! Food was average to below average. A rather disappointing dinner considering this was our first night in the French Quarter and this was by no means a dinner worthy of New Orleans reputation for good food. This was what I would expect from a basic sports bar in any town anywhere in the US. Improve the tours and leave out the dining referrals.

I am sorry you experience your experience wasn't to your liking. The whole restaurant thing throws me off, though. Don't know why a guide would suggest a place to take kids if kids are not allowed. I am going to talk to my guides about that! More confusion is taking 25 mins to walk anywhere in the French Quarter is really hard to think about because it takes me 15 minutes from one side to the other from the farthest points. I guess with kids; it could take longer. Still thinks you might of went to the wrong restaurant. Also, removing a star because the food sucked at a restaurant you couldn't go in with the kids.
For things related to the tour, I am sorry you could not hear the tour guide or understand him. I will tell my guides to make sure everyone can hear them. I find that if you stand closer to the guide or just mention it to the tour guide I am having a hard time hearing. They will make adjustments. It is important that our guests on our tours can hear the guides. That is what a walking tour is about.

Mikko was fantastic. Small size was perfect and it really hit home when we’d see other large groups and they seemed bored snd not engaged. He kept all engaged which is saying something since our kids ages range from 9-18. He even recommended a few places to eat. Highly recommended and will be back!

We had fun on this family friendly ghost tour with our tour guide Dan! He kept the stories interesting and spooky enough for the little kids, and also gave us solid facts and history of French Quarter. His acting skill and experience in theater and movies make the whole tour even more entertaining. We had a great night. Highly recommend for families.

So, I’ve lived in New Orleans every day of my 46 years, and somehow I never managed to go on a tour in any part of the city. I’m so glad I started out with such a great one! Randy was our guide. He was super knowledgeable, and sweet to boot! We all assumed that, as locals, we’d pretty much heard all of the FQ lore out there. But Randy surprised us with some new stories, as well as separating some facts from fiction. My whole family recommends this tour, and Randy!!

We stopped in New Orleans for a 2 nights while on a road trip with the kids. My husband had booked this tour based on the reviews and the fact that it wasn’t a creepy or gory one. Melissa, our tour guide, was on time to meet everyone, very polite, and offered a bathroom for anyone who might need it before we went on our way, and cold bottled water for the trip (it was upwards of 85 degrees).
The tour was well paced and the Melissa provided historical notes and background information with each tale which helped to provide context, especially for the kids.
Overall, the tour was pleasant and interesting. I’d definitely do it again with other friends or family members if we came back.

We were traveling as a family of six with kiddos aged 19, 16, 14 and 8. We had been on a voodoo tour and a cemetery tour which the oldest kid enjoyed but the others weren't thrilled with. It was HOT. So, I was very nervous going into this tour, especially for my 8 year old. We picked 5pm which was still hot but lots of shade available so it wasn't so brutal. Melissa was AMAZING!!! She was knowledgeable, fun and mixed history with ghost stories perfectly!!! She was so incredibly patient and kind with my 8 year old boy who had lots of questions. He paid attention the ENTIRE tour!!! My 14 year old boy, who complained on every OTHER tour, really enjoyed this one too!!! It was the perfect way to end our trip on a high note!! Thank you so much Melissa!

Melissa was awesome. Melissa checked in to make sure my daughter was comfortable with the content covered, and she made sure we had a break spot to use the restroom. Unique Tours let us reschedule short notice given a delay we experienced getting in to NOLA.

We loved it! Very informational for our first trip to New Orleans. Dalvin was our tour guide and he was so much fun! He hit all of the highlights of the French Quarter, and so much more. He was also fantastic with our little ones and made sure to involve and interest them as well. My 6 year old said the stories were his favorite. This morning they were playing vampires at the breakfast table, which means they were listening! Lol. We thought if that's the worst they got from it, it's a win! LOL Definitely would recommend and will be doing another tour with them when we return!

Do you have to wear a mask? Also can you bring strollers on the tour?

No mask and you probably can bring a stroller but you will be doing a lot of picking it up and carrying it due to the unevenness of the ground
