Great overview of New Orleans history both in the distant past and in the 21st century. Cruise included a stop at the War of 1812 battlefield and an overview of General Jackson's victory against the British in 1815. Extensive treatment of the Katrina Hurricane given we passed by a number of areas where it hit particularly hard. Cruise Tour Director Charles was outstanding. We thought he was reading from a script but in fact it was all extemporaneous. (We also thought he could talk underwater!) I would say that visitors to New Orleans should have this as a must do.

Excellent experience. We loved Charles, our narrator. He was worth the price of the ticket alone. His storytelling and knowledge of history of the city of New Orleans, the War of 1812, and Hurricane Katrina made this excursion very memorable.

This is a great family friendly, outdoor, relaxing event. Give it a try if you get a chance. The cost is reasonable. We did not take it with the meal. The narrator( forgot his name, Veteran, Lawyer, Historian, Native) is awesome.

Charles was an excellent narrator! We frequently visit New Orleans but had never done a River Cruise. Great outing for the day.

Trip was kinda boring, narrator seemed kind of full of himself. There isn't much to see at the battlefield itself either. Both my wife and I wished we'd spent the time doing something else in New Orleans.

My sister and I loved this tour! Our narrator, Charles, was phenomenal. His knowledge base and sense of humor kept us intrigued and even laughing. We enjoyed both the scenic boat and stopping at the battlefield memorial. Highly recommend this tour if visiting New Orleans!

AWESOME!
I have been on a Mississippi river tour, but this historic paddlewheel tour was excellent!
Kudos to Charles for a great narration. He was the difference between a good paddleboat ride and a great experience!

Fun trip down the river. We enjoyed the historian prevention both in the boat and at the battlefield. We only had 30 minutes at the battlefield. We would have liked a bit more time to explore the visitor center at the battlefield, but other than that it was a great trip!
