About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Fearless220287578560 contributionsThe real inside experience you want!Brett was AMAZING!! The information he shared and also on the insider information that you know that is not easily available. I never expected New Orleans to have that much of history and also after hearing from Brett, I have new appreciation about the quaint lanes and homes. Thank you so much Brett! we truly enjoyed ourselvesWritten 8 May 2024
- MikeP03720 contributionsEntertaining and informative tour by a resident MusicianIncredible. Holley, our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. I’ve been to NOLA before but learned so much about the history of Jazz and the city in general on this tour. (And if you’re really fortunate perhaps Holley will sing you a couple of her own tunes. She’s extremely talented) It’s an easy 2 to 2.5hr walk. We tour the sites close to Armstrong Park. I am happy to recommend this tour if you are interested in the history of Jazz MusicWritten 13 August 2023
- CarmanS890 contributionsGreat Experience! We had a wonderful time with Ana Paula, and without her guidance, we wouldn’t have known about the hidden secrets and shortcuts to some of the best views of Lisbon!Written 27 June 2023
- Susan W0 contributionsArchitectural history of the French QuarterGetting the views of someone who grew up in the area was a real treat. If you're really interested in architecture and architectural history, this is the tour for you. Brett pointed out one of the most architecturally incongruous buildings I've ever seen.Written 6 June 2022
- samflick0 contributionsLove a Tour by a TeacherHollie was so knowledgeable about the history of the city's music. Anyone can swing by the Jazz Museum for the basics, but she took us into hidden gems (hotels, laundromats, etc.) that all had key pieces of jazz history (we got to touch an actual Louis Armstrong horn!). It was a fabulous and informative tour.Written 10 February 2022
- Benny_15_Epp0 contributionsAn essentialThe tour was fantastic. An absolute essential if you come to New Orleans to learn about its rich music history. The tour guide we had (Hollie) was very experienced both in knowledge of the history but also was skilled in her art of singing. This tour was fantastic and would recommend.Written 9 July 2021
- lynzeeschweigert0 contributionsGreat food, even better host! Perfect way to get the “must eats” in!This was one of my favorites of the trip! Neil Stevens is such a great guide! Very knowledgeable and personable, someone great to spend the afternoon with. We had a genuine po’ boy sandwich, gator, crepes, muffuletta, charred oysters, beignets, chicory coffee…. Definitely bring your appetite and walking shoes! It was just me and my husband and the portions were huge! Much more than just a sample. Neil knew all the local places, and you could tell he visits often. He’s a well respected guy and can adjust when necessary. We were touring on a Sunday/Holiday so some of his first options were closed, but he quickly redirected and found us some awesome food. He was also helpful in finding drinks and places to sit/cool down. My husband had great conversation around history and military stories. We spent an hour just chatting after the tour was officially over. We highly recommend!Written 4 July 2021
- judyr9040 contributionsTaste NOLA with Neal!!A whole new perspectiveHad a wonderful time. Neal is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of NOLA. The food selections were delicious and portions very generous. First foodie tour and won't be our last. FWritten 11 June 2021
- AzGirl851200 contributionsNot what is advertised at atNot a good experience. MARY met us, my husband and I, as planned. The listing showed every 10 minutes you were at a different spot. Highlights. Our tour started at 7:30pm. At 7:50 pm we should’ve been to Bourbon St for the 1st of 2 stops. At 8:00 she had us heading away from Bourbon St not towards it. So I said “ aren’t we going to Bourbon St ? My husband was really counting on the stops at Bourbon St”. She said “ fine, if you don’t want to hear what I have to say I’ll take you to Bourbon St”. With that she took off 1/2 block ahead of us. We literally were running to try to keep up with her, which we never did. When we reached Bourbon St she took off to some side Street and left us. That was about 8:10 and our tour was till 9:00. Gone. Horrible to say the least.Written 18 April 2021
- Yaivon0 contributionsPoorly Organized & Waste of MoneyThe one star is for the tour guide who was friendly and tried to provide an ok experience. First, we were asked to meet at one location and the tour guide was given a different location. Second, the cost of the tour is supposed to include refreshments at Cafe Beignet, which we never even stopped at. I had to ask the tour guide to help us locate one of the Beignet cafes at the end because I couldn't remember which one was supposed to be included in the tour. At the beginning of the tour, she asked if we wanted to hear the ghost and vampire stories of the city, which we declined and asked for more history, music and architecture details. But, all we got were ghost stories... Huge disappointment. After getting back home to check the original itinerary, we realized we didn't see half of the spots that we paid for. I would not recommend this tour or this company to anyone. $250 wasted on our first day in NOLA. Luckily, we had a beautiful day to stroll around by ourselves and enjoy the city, culture and food after the botched tour. We are really sad that we didn't learn as much about the city as we thought we would from this tour.Written 8 March 2021
- trusting_type10 contributionsAMAZING SAN FRANCISCOWe had such a good time on the Golden Gate Park tour with Agatha. She has a wealth of knowledge about the area as she's lived in San Francisco for more than a decade. We really enjoyed the pace of the tour, starting off at the Cinderella Bakery for a coffee and a pastry. The park was so nice when we got there, we didn't want to leave. Agatha led us to the Conservatory of Flower (a must see) and then to the De Young museum. We went to the Haight-Ashbury district and explored all the cool little shops. It was amazing how much there is to learn in such a small area. I think we could do the tour like 10 more times and still have stuff to do and see. Thanks again for the tour, Agatha, it was a blast. She took us to a cool vegan restaurant at the end of the tour called VeganBurg (also highly recommended).Written 16 February 2021
- johnbaxxter0 contributionsTHIS TOUR OF NEW ORLEANS IS AMAZINGHaving Brett share his depth of NOLA history & architectural development truly gave me a deeper appreciation of this amazing city. Navigating a lovely Autumn Wednesday ‘slightly Post-Covid’ offered some surprises & some disappointments, but overall, we made the best of it!Written 16 February 2021
- Chanelle10100 contributionsFind the best New OrleansWe had an amazing tour with Brett! He is knowledgeable and passionate and we learned so much about New Orleans and its history. He was also very mindfull of how we were feeling, bcs of the cold. Brett made sure we stopped for a coffee in a lovely warm cafe, which was much appreciated. We will definitely use him again for a different tour and would highly recommend taking a tour with a person like Brett, who knows his stuff!Written 1 February 2021
- Chanelle10100 contributionsGreat insights on New Orleans' Food SceneWhat a superb way to enjoy New Orleans! Brandon was an excellent host! He made our tour of the food something to remember. We went to places I would not have thought of and we found how truly diversified the food scene in New Orleans is. Best Schrimp we had for ages!! The tour was build up in a very nice way, with a good mix of local food spots and enjoying the highlights NOLA has to offer! I recommend both Brandon as well as the tour provider Withlocals, as I use them always on my travels, and nevery nog disappointed!Written 1 February 2021
