Great views along the Verde River. River was a little low but moved at a nice pace. Emily our guide was very helpful and friendly.

      Fun time tubing the Verde
9 of us, ages 12-65 & we all had a fun time, good mix of slow chill sections and fast crazy sections. Bus driver was helpful and informative.

      Expected more...
Two of us were the only ones doing the Tubing Madness which lasted 3 hours. While we enjoyed the scenery and wildlife we saw along the way we were disappointed and expected more rapids. But it is what it is. Also the $10 additional fee per person for the Winery afterwards was not worth it.

      Tubing
The tubing was great! Beautiful scenery with mild rapids. Perfect family event for kids aged 9 and 12 years old. Wine and pizza were ok.

Tubing is so much fun! And the best way to stay cool in the heat
Amazing fun and such a nice company. The guides couldn't have been more helpful or more friendly. Floating down the river is the best way to stay cool on a hot day, and I laughed so much fighting with my kids with the water pistols. Highly recommend. One tip for any other foreigners like us - when they talk about "cooler tubes" they mean a spare floating tube that you can bring your snacks / drinks along in an ice box. It just attaches to your tube and floats along beside you. We were very jealous of those with picnics and cold drinks to enjoy along the way!

      Best time ever!
Matt was an amazing and funny guide with lots of knowledge of the river and surrounding area. The water was calm and smooth and cooling. This will be a regular stop for me when visiting Sedona from now on!

      Tubing madness fun
My 7 yo and I went on the tubing madness float. It was efficient and the employees were fabulous. I'd do the kayak next time if it's just us, cuz it got a little long for my kiddo but overall we had a lot of fun!

Great Adventure for those that love the outdoors
Great adventure and a happy ending. The kayak group was friendly and helpful. Provided some great history and safety briefings. Once finished its off to winery where the wines are lovely, the food menu is good and the services was good.

      Great tubing trip, but overpriced
We had a great time on the river. The trip exceeded our expectations. We were concerned with the temps over 100 it was going to be too hot. There were plenty of opportunities to jump in the water to cool off. Bring lots of sunscreen and water. However, it was pretty expensive for renting a tube and getting transport 10 minutes up the road. The $10 forced "credit" at the winery and the multiple reminders for 10-25% tips was our only turn off for this tour. Floating down the river was a lot of fun for our group.

Excellent Addition to a Yoga Retreat
A group of fifteen women kayaked down the Verde River for part of a yoga retreat thanks to the great opportunity offered by Sedona Adventure Tours. The guides were knowledge, friendly and entertaining and explained the river route, obstacles and paddling tips in detail. We were greeted at the end of the 2.5 mile stretch of river by the guides who helped us out of the kayaks and directed us to showers and the winery. The river was mostly smooth and easily navigable, even for the novice paddlers in the group. The kayak trip was fun and capped off with a perfect place for food, wine tasting and chatting about the river. Sedona Adventure Tours is highly recommended!

We booked the "Classic Water to Wine". It did not state "inflatable" when I booked back in early January, but the kayaks are actually really nice and comfortable and there really isn't any "wine" included. You purchase $20 for wine tasting and do that after kayaking. There is not a guide, so you are driven to a spot where you take a kayak and get into the water. You kayak down for about an hour and get out. At that time we were told since it is a Saturday and most likely busy - good luck getting a table to taste the wine. Oh, also...the "changing room" means two disgusting little closets filled with junk (one with open air windows and the other with a dirty microwave covered in splattered food). We had to hop around and change out of freezing cold clothes in a dark, dirty room. When we did get up to the wine tasting...there were plenty of tables. The wine tasting, entertainment and food was great. I would think a couple reserved tables for those paying for the kayak tour would be better - as I am sure the guide was just warning us there might not be tables. But that was very off putting...especially since we thought we were having wine while kayaking. I would have given this an excellent 5 stars rating if the description matched our experience. We did have a lot of fun- the marketing just needs to be updated so there isn't higher expectations.

My (adult) son and I had a great time on our kayaking trip! The GPS instructions led us right to the parking area, plenty of parking and basic campground facilities. Kenny met us there and got us up to the launch area while telling us some interesting history of the valley. The equipment was in good shape, the inflatable kayaks were comfortable and made it over the occasional boulder without issue. It was a Friday afternoon and we only saw a few other people on the water, mostly had the river to ourselves. It was a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon outdoors, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in getting out and enjoying the river! I see the covid-related questions at the end of this survey, hoenstly...if you're worried about that while kayaking, you should probably just stay home!

    Verde River Adventures💦

If you ever get a chance to go to Cottonwood, AZ and go tubing or kayaking..I highly recommend doing it with Verde River Adventures. It was such an amazing day!!! The staff was funny, friendly and efficient.

It took us about 3 hours, the water was perfect and they set you up with a ride, hard core tubes, paddles and even water guns!

When we were done we headed right next door to Alcantara Winery and had an amazing bottle of Chardonnay bottled right there and some snacks. We sat outside in the beautiful back patio next to the vineyard and laughed about the perfect day we had.

It was a great end to a perfect day and I recommend it to anyone young and old!!

Unfortunately, the water was quite low at the height of summer - from ankle to 5’ depth, mostly mid-calf range. But the staff was very friendly, attentive and genuinely concerned about guest satisfaction. It was very hot and a cooler of ice water at the end would have been very welcome. Bring lots and lots of water, food and even music. Alcohol is allowed. A small/med soft cooler will fit quite well on the single duckies. This is not a guided tour, which we loved considering the low water circumstances. We took our time, even stopping in a shallow riverbed to sit in the water and chat and took a full 3.5 hours to get to the end. FYI - There are NO bathrooms, anywhere at all. The last 1/4 mile is on gravel roads and parking is a small dirt lot. The duckies were great quality and nice to float with. Thanks to Ken who texted the night before to make sure we had a direct contact.

Group of 7 signed of for the kayaking. Yes the drive to get to the meeting location is kind of sketchy, all dirt road. But we made it and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The water at this time is very low, we got stuck in a lot of rocks while kayaking. The water is disgusting, being so hot u wanna jump out and cool off but not in this water at all, all kinds of bugs in the water. Was told of a spot to stop to have a nice picnic to relax but there is not one spot that was decent enough to stop because all the rock area were covered with HORNETS everywhere. Even followed us as we went passed them. This took us 2.5 hours to finish because we took our time (kids got tired of rowing) but it was the longest 2.5 hours of our lives, the kids wanted it to end. The price is way too expensive compared to some of the other tours/excursions we did and this did not compare. Would not do this again. We chalked it up to a one time experience and we learned our lesson. Again, the staff was amazing and it wasn’t their fault, but all the reviews and description of this kayaking trip were misleading.

What a fun day date! Our guide was so personable and friendly and did a fantastic job preparing us for the experience, as we are not super experienced on kayaks and needed some pointers. The water was mostly smooth with only minor speedy turns throughout, so we did get some adrenaline but also felt really relaxed and got to enjoy the scenery and peaceful river view during the calm parts. Live music was playing when we returned to the winery for our complimentary tasting, and it was such a treat afterwards to spend time outside at such a gorgeous place. Highly recommend for those of you who are looking for a way to get exercise and have a memorable experience on vacation!

Our family of 5 enjoyed the trip down the river overall. We did not like that we had booked 4 individual kayaks and instead one person in our party was given a larger tandem to handle on their own. Also, we had some confusion over the pull-out spot as there was a sign to go to the right so we we started looking at this location but it turns out one had to go further down to find the location.

We felt there was an "over the top" emphasis on leaving a tip given this was simply a shuttle and an un-guided tour. A reminder in the reservation, again by text before we showed up, on site we were told we could leave our car keys in their tip cup so we didn't forget before leaving, and then at the end we were reminded where the tip cup was located before we left. We did not enjoy this part of the trip.

    Friendly folks.

River was low so we kept getting stuck on rocks which was unfortunate, but its was pretty and quiet.

We really enjoyed the day on the water. The weather was perfect; the few interesting bubbles of water made the ride interesting. The scenery was lovely - we saw a baby goat on the rocks and cave dwellings.

The site is rather remote and the guides texted a google maps link directly to the pick-up point - very easy to follow. Two of our group had kayaked before; one had not and the guide's instructions on paddling or getting unstuck from the riverbank were easy to follow for all.

We would highly recommend this activity be included in your trip to the Sedona/Flagstaff area!

When the temperatures started hitting up in Sedona, going on a hike in the middle of the day was too daunting for our teenage kids.
Only an hour drive from uptown, we had a great cooling adventure! Thomas was extremely hospitable and entertaining.
I will definitely recommend for anyone looking to experience something a little different than the gas guzzling, environmental ruining, eye sore of the pink Jeeps.

We really enjoyed our time on the Verde River!
As we approached the meeting point, we realized that we were running a few minutes late. I called Thomas, and he let me know not to stress about it. He said they "go with the flow", and I thought it was very clever as a river outfitter!
When we arrived, Thomas was waiting for us in the parking lot and guided us to a parking spot in the shade. He escorted us to the river to show us the take out point and to introduce us to Dakota. Afterward, we loaded up onto a bus to the put in point. As a note - it's a pretty steep walk down to the river. Thomas let us know ahead of time to take it slow, and we all made down the hill with no issues.
Once at the river, Thomas gave us a safety orientation and explained how to effectively maneuver the kayaks. I'm a very experienced kayaker, but I hadn't used an inflatable kayak with no fin before. It was different than I'm accustomed to, but a lot of fun. Most of our group were inexperienced kayakers, and they all did well on the river.
We were also given water guns to shoot at each other on the river, which made even the slow floating times fun.
The water was a bit low on the day we were there, so it was a little slow going to get down river, but we made the trip in about 3 hours. When we got to the take out point, both Thomas and Dakota were there waiting for us, and helped us all safely exit the water.
All in all, this was a nice, safe, easy float for beginners, and we felt very well taken care of by Verde Adventure River Trips. I hope to go back in an adults only group in the future so we can do the water to wine experience next time!
