We had a great stroll through the city with some stops at some great bars. Even though it started to storm, the entire group stayed to finish the tour because it was so interesting. We skipped two of the bars we were taken to at the beginning because our group "was large." I do not recommend this tour. We visited a total of 2 bars yet it is advertised as a "pub crawl." There is ZERO madness or mayhem on this tour. This was PG-13 at best if I could stretch it. I tried to do as much research as I could on my last night in San Antonio and somehow managed to find the most watered down, and overpriced ghost tour. We walked a 1.5 radius around downtown San Antonio, and listened to the history of the town. Normally that would be a nice event for me except that's not exactly what i would've paid $60 to do if we could've paid the same price and been on a bus going in haunted hotels and visiting the Alamo. There are just too many other tours out there to settle for this one. so while your tour guide will be very nice and informative, for me and my husband it was just meh and we wanted to leave halfway through and just spend our time on the Riverwalk rather than pretending to be interested walking around downtown for 2 hours

My partner and I love to go on ghost tours when we visit different cities. We’ve personally had paranormal experiences in San Antonio, so we were really excited for a thrilling/scary ghost tour on the last night of our trip. We specifically chose the Madams and Mayhem tour instead of the family friendly one, in hopes to hear more dark and demonic stories focused on paranormal experiences rather than just historical facts. While the tour we received was very informative, it was exactly the experience we were hoping to forgo.
Our tour guide was much more focused on the history and we heard little to none about the resultant ghosts and paranormal activity at the locations we visited. The locations advertised for this tour such as the Alamo and the Emily Morgan Hotel were reasons why we chose this tour and we were disappointed that we did not visit either of these locations.
Additionally, my partner and I wished to take pictures at the various locations and make small comments to each other about the old stories we were hearing. The tour guide seemed frustrated by these things and would make a point to wait until everyone was paying attention (we were not the only group that was treated this way). There was a total of five on this tour, which maybe was why he was focused on everyone listening with such a small number. Even so at one point while we were walking to the next location, he began an impromptu story and attempted to get our attention by calling out, “Girls!” like a teacher scolding school girls. We are in our twenties, but this felt disrespectful as adults who payed for this experience.
TLDR: If you’re looking for a lesser known history tour of downtown San Antonio that starts at night, this is perfect for you! But if you are looking for a ghost tour, look elsewhere.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and kinda fun so this rating is no way on her. This was my third tour by three different companies and they are all the same. I was hoping for something different for the price like actually going into buildings and doing more than just walk and talk.
The traffic and people noise spoils it all. I know they cannot help it, but again for the price I expected something much better.

We booked our tour for Madames and Mayhem for Feb 28, 2023 and were told where to meet and to be early. We arrived nearly 30 minutes early waited and no guide showed up. 10 minutes after the tour was to have started, we called the number provided and were put on hold and then told, sorry, our guide will not be able to attend tonight. We wasted our last evening in San Antonio. A phone call in advance would have been appreciated so we could have made alternate plans. Very poor service. We were given a full refund.

This is a difficult review to write as there were good points and disappointments. First the good points: Our tour guide was very personable and passionate about his narrative. It was obvious that he spent a good deal of time fact gathering. Most appreciated was that he waited with us at the end of the tour until our Uber arrived.
Disappointments were several - culminating in a regret that this is the tour we selected. (1) There were only 3 of us on the tour. We were instructed to be in front of the Bexar County Courthouse no later than 8:45pm. The guide did not show up until about 9:02....we kept thinking we were in the wrong place. (2) The delivery was not at all what was expected. The guide told us that they were given scripts to follow. But he chose to write his own script as he wanted factual information and not legends/lore. What we got was a 1.5 hour tour with a history of San Antonio with 2 or 3 anecdotes about ghosts thrown in. (3) The guide added too much of his life history into his narrative.
As far as a recommendation for this tour.....I strongly suggest that you ask who the guide will be and their approach to the tour and narrative. What we received may be exactly what you are looking for. But it was not what was advertised and we were very disappointed - leaving us to wish we had selected a different tour operator.

Thanks for your feedback and we will take it to heart. We are sorry that your guide was late, we were informed about transportation/traffic issues. Guides do arrive 15 minutes or more prior for check it, but this was an unforeseen circumstance

Our tour guide announced that he doesn’t follow the script and the proceeded to give us an hour and ten minute long history lesson, mentioning one woman the whole time. We went to one of the promised stops, which did not include the Menger, which was a big reason that we wanted to go on this tour. Added a star because the last thirty minutes of the tour WERE about ghosts, even if they weren’t the ghosts we paid for to hear about. We really wanted a scary Halloween tour and it didn’t deliver at all. It seemed like the tour guide just wanted to show off his knowledge about San Antonio.

Alfred was our tour guide. Sadly, he seemed to be more interesting in the gore that took place at each location rather than the history and the ghosts. He was not a good story teller and did not engage well with the people in the group. The tour really should be called the Blood of San Antonio.

Absolutely horrible!!! $80 and 2 hours I’ll never get back. The guide admittedly went off script and didn’t return the group to the starting point. Four people dipped off within 30 minutes of the tour and it was tempting not to. Guide was unprofessional and it was a total disaster. I’ve been on plenty of tours in other cities and this was by far the worst.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We will address this moving forward. Our tours don't always end at the starting location but should be close enough to where if you sk the guide they can take you back to the original starting point.

Jymmi was amazing!!!!! My daughter and I enjoyed this tour because of her. She answered all our questions and told so many stories. Definitely recommend this tour. Nice bc no kids! I love kids but not on a ghost tour. Ask for Jymmi!
