This is definitely the best way to see and learn about the Grand Canyon! Our guide, KEATON, had a masterful knowledge of everything about the Canyon and its history, geology and ecology. He made the trip better than we expected and most memorable!! It was a full day of fun, excitement, and definitely new sights and knowledge. We recommend Canyon Dave's tours to everyone!!

Canyon Dave Tours - Top Notch adventure!!
We had an amazing experience on our Grand Canyon Tour provided by Canyon Dave Tours, Inc. Our guide, Leonor, was the best. She is so knowledge about the area and went the extra mile to explain to us what we were seeing and many legends of the Canyon. They operate a small van that picks you up and returns you to your hotel. With a minimum amount of guests on the tour makes it feel very personal. Our guide provided us with snacks, water and lunch at one of the lodges at the canyon. She took us to all the "highlight" spots in the Canyon and did not make us feel rushed. We can not say enough about the greatest tour we have ever taken. We travel a lot and have taken many tours in the large buses and those tours do not even come close to the experience we had. I HIGHLY recommend this company and tour, you won't be disappointed. Consider this tour before booking the train up to the canyon, we did both and this one was by far the BEST!!

Excellent tour, well worth the money.
Keaton was an exceptional guide. He took us on excellent tour, avoiding congested areas as much as possible and sharing a lot of knowledge about history, geology, and Native Americans. Small group of 6, great lunch, couldn't have asked for a better day. Well worth the money. Highly recommend!

Learn the canyon from an insiders point of view - a mountain woman
We hoped for an overview of the history and geology of the Canyon. What we got was Lae - a mountain woman with incredible knowledge and deep love of this countryside. She described the changing fauna as we drove towards the canyon and pointed out herd of elk, antelopes and wild horses along the way. Then she told us the history of the Canyon as far as original American Indian tribes plus the encroaching settlers and the importance of the Santa Fe Railroad. She shared information about the scarcity of water, the winds and wind corridors, census report statistics, average temperatures and snowfall. And of great importance, Lea kept us posted on the proximity of restrooms along with restroom reviews! The owner of Canyon Dave Tours is Dave, retired as a geologist for the Grand Canyon National Park. His wife and co-owner is a retired botanist also for Park. They have put together a professional staff of educated individuals with a love of the Park and a deep knowledge of the geology (past and present) along with info on the importance and use of different fauna. Each guide goes through an intense training period so they understand the makeup of the park geology and history. Lae knows the trails, the mountains, the river and the best spots for viewing (without the crowds) at the overlooks. She pointed out architectural features of Bright Angel Lodge and the Lookout Tower. Shared the inside scoop about the Kolb Brothers photography studio and their loggerheads with the national park system along with their incredible photo business which included fanciful portraits of travelers riding their mules down the trail towards the bottom of the park (they took portraits at rim) then ran 9 miles to the bottom to process photos because the water was available there and then, ran BACK up the trails to have the photo ready for their clients. A wealth of daring and intrepid individuals developed the Canyon as it is today and Lae has stories about many, many of them. Besides an obvious love of the area, Lae has a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. Our tour was so much more than we expected. If you want a tour with individual treatment and great learning experiences, then contact Canyon Dave Tours. And do request Lae. Tell her that Panama Pam sent you!

          Great Grand Canyon Tour
Our tour guide, Keaton was excellent. He was prompt on pickup, interested in what we wanted to get from the tour, and how he could meet our expectations. His knowledge of The Canyon, from hiking extensively in many areas, leading tours for 7-8 years, his studied knowledge of geology and history dovetailed everything into a comprehensive tour. He was aware of all our needs, water, van comfort, and restroom breaks. We never had a need or question that was not addressed immediately and with pleasure. Would book with them for another tour if needed.

          Was worth paying for upgrades!
Good experience - worth it to pay for the glass car/caboose. You get to go outside on back of train will riding, which was a highlight. Nice snacks/spread and beverage choices. Fun music & entertainment. Group of adults & all had a good time. Only drawback was there is a very, very big alcohol push in the morning - lots of stressing buying drinks, which got to be a bit of a turn off. Money well spent!

Great tour with lots of information about the area.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and the area. We learned about the historical buildings, people, geological formations, flora, and fauna. We started with a foggy, snowy morning but the clouds cleared somewhat by mid afternoon and we were able to see some of the canyon.

A rather old tour bus but on the whole an excellent tour with a highly knowledgeable tour guide. Quite relaxing after a frantic visit to all five of Utah's National Parks and so suitable for mature travellers like myself! Highly Recommended!

          Amazing tour with Cody!!
Cody was an outstanding tour guide!! My husband and I were the only ones on his last season tour before vacation. We so enjoyed learning the rich history of the Grand Canyon including the Harvey Girls, Harvey himself, the construction of hotels, cabins, the Village and even the water pipeline. One of our favorite activities was lunch with a view and GEOLOGY lesson, including an identification quiz of the specific types of rocks! Wow- Cody really made us think! In addition, we thoroughly enjoyed walking the trail to view the pictographs. Cody has personal experiences living and hiking the Grand Canyon which added to his story telling style . Thank you Dave for your influence and giving us a first time experience viewing the Grand Canyon!! A+ score!!

          Worth every penny!
We had the best day with Keaton showing us around The Grand Canyon! He was right on time to pick us up from our rental home & took care of everything for the rest of our day together. The binoculars and beverages were a really nice touch! Keaton’s vast knowledge and expertise were most impressive! He kept surly teenagers interested & engaged. Our son loved foraging and our tween who planned to be “super bored” said she loved the tour and the whole experience. Thank you for the gorgeous pictures and wonderful family memories! We would not hesitate to do this again or recommend Canyon Dave Tours.

Cody was well informed and delivered information in a way that was interesting and easy to remember. He kept the tour going without making us feel rushed. We could tell that he truly loves what he does and the Grand Canyon, which made the tour “simply the best” Merisa & Cindy

Keaton was just great! There were 7 people on our tour including our 9 year old. We got to know our driver and our tour mates. Everyone was respectful of the fact that our 9 year old wasn’t vaccinated and our choice to continue to wear masks even though we, the parents are vaccinated. Many people did not wear masks at the canyon but masks were available if needed by the tour guide Keaton.
The tour was an all day tour and Keaton was super knowledgeable and safe and the tour was very educational. The educational piece was important to me being a teacher for my daughter and this tour was perfect for that. The Navajo trading post at the end was a treat. They did require masks due to Covid-19, which is very understandable. We enjoyed shopping there as well. Overall our family had very memorable trip to see the Grand Canyon for the first time and the experience was priceless!

A GREAT tour: Absolutely loved it !!

We were first time visitors to the Grand Canyon, and we decided a guided tour would be a good idea. The Grand Canyon is a huge site, with so many different things to see, that it is somewhat overwhelming.

This tour was so incredibly good! Tim was our guide, he took us to quite a few sites, explained the geology, animals, birds, trees, etc., and we got FAR more out of this than we ever could have done otherwise.

This turned out to be one of the best tours we've ever taken. Highly recommended!!

We had an excellent day with Keaton touring tte south and east rims of the Grand Canyon.

Keaton also provided binoculars and stopped us of for lunch (part of the package cost).

The day commenced when he picked us up at our hotel in Flagstaff at 7.45 and ended when he dropped us back approaching 5pm

He is such a very knowledgeable guide and easily able to answer questions on the archeology, geology, history and wildlife. Also on how the surrounding forests are managed.

For us it was a day to remember and we can't recommend highly enough the expert service provided by the Canyon Dave co.

We saw and learnt so much.

Keaton is an exceptional guide with Canyon Dave Tours. He is very knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Flagstaff. When we arrived at the entrance to the Grand Canyon, it was snowing. We walked to a lookout area and could see nothing but thick clouds. Keaton directed us into the museum, gave an overview of the geology of the canyon and let us look around. We then visited the two hotels in the park and several other museums. We stopped periodically at lookout areas and gradually the snow stopped and the clouds started to lift. We had lunch at a deli that served good food and was included in the price of the tour. We then drove along the rim, stopping at viewing areas. The visibility continued go improve until our last stop was beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour. I know that with the weather conditions we had, we would have been very disappointed if we were on our own.

I cannot say enough good things about our guide, Keaton, and our tour. Very professional outfit! From pickup in Flagstaff to the full day in the GC, lunch and return back, the day was perfect! Highly recommend and would book again, Keaton was fun and gave us so many lessons on the history of the GC, the native Americans, wildlife, geology, plant life, and everything in between. He was amazing. We could never have done so much in one day on our own. Plenty of unhurried viewpoint stops (7), restroom access, and a stop for a nice relaxing deli lunch! Do not hesitate to book this one!

Arriving at the Grand Canyon was for me, completely unexpected. I had expected to travel up a steep mountain to see the views. Well, we were at 7,000 feet. However we drove through acres of Ponderosa pines, when Keanen told us to watch out the left-hand window. Abruptly, through the pine fox st, the ground fell away and there was the Grand Canyon! Like driving through the Pine Gardens of New Jersey and suddenly being at the edge of a sand dune. Jeanne (hope I'm getting his nam erighr) Tod us details about the route, the pines the pioneers the geology, hiking (he has), tourism, and anything else you could think of. We had a group of 9 due to Covid restrictions; what became a group of friends from all over the country.
The tour includes a "you pick your entree" lunch which was substantial enough to eliminate the need for dinner. Only beer was not permitted. I had a delicious elk burger. My husband a 1/3 pound beef cheeseburger.
With my arthritic knees it seemed a lot of walking, and getting in and out of the van got difficult; but not so much I couldn't handle.
Overall, worth every penny we spent.

Dave’s Canyon Tours is the best. My husband & I visited the Grand Canyon on July 5 & Emmi was our tour guide. This was an absolutely wonderful experience. Emmi picked us up promptly at our hotel, had snacks & beverages available for us & took us straight to the Grand Canyon. She was very attentive to our needs & questions & did a wonderful job explaining the Grand Canyon & how it came to be. This company emphasizes education and understanding of the Grand Canyon; Emmi had examples of the different rocks formed when the canyon evolved which gave this experience a much more tangible experience.

We highly recommend Dave’s Canyon Tours if you want a very enjoyable & educational experience.

Very glad we booked a tour through the Grand Canyon. We made about 5 stops throughout the day - all with stunning views. Tim, our guide, was knowledgeable about geology, state history, indigenous tribes, mythology, animals, and flora. He was also kind and pleasant to be with. We all enjoyed the day.

Excellent on time service with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide made our experience awesome. Keaton was simply fantastic. Many people touring the parks were also attracted to Keaton’s explanations and were very interested in taking this specific tour.
