About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Coreen B0 contributionsAMAZING!Schindler, our tour guide made this tour fun and exciting. He was also very knowledgeable. This was my first trip to Hawaii so I truly appreciate his kindness.Written 14 October 2024
- Myriam P0 contributionsBest Tour in town with Shelly! We loved going around town with the best guide ever, Shelly! She gave us cool tips while visiting town and treated us like family (like the masaladas at Leonard’s) and brought us to the palace, Kamehameha’s statue and the PunchBowl Crater ! Thank you very much for helping us booking our activities in Oahu! Myriam and KathleenWritten 25 September 2024
- R9889IHlindam0 contributionsTerrible no tickets when arriving. We booked this tour on July 3 2024 and the tour was to take place on September 25 2024. When I booked I was very careful to make sure they had all the right details. We were arriving by cruise ship at 9am. And I also booked a luau later that day. Only because we bought wifi on the ship I received an email the day before on the 24th saying they were changing my pickup time to 630am. I emailed them 3 times that day with no response to advise them again we would not be in port till 9am. I did not get a response till the morning of the tour asking if we would be at our new pickup time. Finally talked to someone that said they did not get the later tickets and that was that. How does a company book your tour months in advance take your money and not get the needed tickets? This is unexcusable.Written 25 September 2024
- 887rachealc0 contributionsLocked out of bus and negative driver - City tour a joke. The USS Arizona memorial was wonderful. The bus driver was 75 and very negative talking about politics and herself most of the time. The city tour was dismal and it was a waste of time and money. The bus driver locked her bus keys in the bus and we had to wait in the heat for the owner of the bus to bring keys. I would not recommend. I give it two stars because the memorial was very well done but could be done on your own.Written 17 September 2024

- tatianasV5082AK0 contributionsCriminal activity! Scam! This company stole the money! This company Aloha Hawaii tours is a scam performing a criminal activity! I have been invited to participate in a webinar wia Zoom meeting to learn about their promotion and be rewarded with the Travel Certificate for 5 days 6 nights in 5 star hotel in Hawaii. I accepted the meeting on June 26, 2024 and the host insisted that I use my personal computer or laptop but not the phone. I used my laptop where all my personal data including the access to all my bank accounts. The host pushed the link to get full control of my computer saying that is the link to a webinar. I found it suspicious because I was already in a Zoom meeting with them among the other participants. Suddenly, some person screamed"leave this meeting immediately! This is a scam, they are after your money!" I ignored the link, and the host said that I need to accept it in order to get the Travel Certificate. I did. And my computer immediately gave me a message that their pushed program accessing all my files and data, having full control of my computer and stealing information and personal identity. It took me a few minutes to understand what is going on. When I realized that I am a victim of a criminal activity, I discovered from this webinar. However, the harm was dane, and I will report this company to a Best Business Bureau, and will seek a legal advice how to sue Aloha Hawaii Tours Company, registered at 1130 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816, USA. I am attaching the screenshot of theirs email to the webinar.Written 27 June 2024

- Kerrie0m0 contributionsTicks the boxOur driver Mary was fabulous, funny and informative. The tour operator was great we just found Pearl Harbor a bit dull without human interaction. Everything is very organised and well run, but it's watch a video, read info boards and never any actual people talking about what happened. Compared to other war related memorials around the world we found this one lacked feeling and emotion.Written 8 June 2024
- 588kellys0 contributionsVery moving experienceThis was a very organized tour. Our driver, Shelly, was very personable and knowledgeable explaining the sites throughout Honolulu. I don’t have other circle island tours to compare but I guess you sort of “have to” do a circle island tour when you are in Oahu. I went with this company mostly because Groupon deal (wait for days when Groupon offers even bigger discounts). My biggest complaint is the small van (we have 19 people in the tour and I think it pretty much filled up the whole van), dirty/uncomfortable Seats, guide also didn’t cover his mouth when speaking (well he had a mask but just didn’t cover nose or mouth). I know the social distancing/masking policy is being relaxed but still... Macademia farm stop was best because you can taste all kinds of macademia and coffee for free there. Other stops were just ok, but again I do see most tour buses stop in the same stops...at least we get to experience a bit of the north shore without having to pay $300 plus parking per day to rent a car...Because of Groupon, we didn’t feel we were ripped off but if I paid full price, I prolly would feel differently.

First off beware when buying this. I asked for a snorkling excursion. Was told to do the sites and bites because it included beach time at Turtle Bay where we could swim and snorkel. Several others on my tour were told the same thing. It was to the point that our bus driver had to make an announcement saying that there was no snorkling, beach or even the bakery. He even offered to let us off so. Except since it was well after the 24 hour refund period I was going to be screwed out of my money anyways and the three of us had nothing better to do. So we went.
The tour guide aka bus driver did a great job of pointing out interesting things and sharing funny stories. But sadly that was the best part of the trip. The "sites" part of the tour were either skipped entirely or short to the point of being given 15 minutes in each location. Made all the shorter by trying to get off the bus with 50+ other people. The "bites" parts were almost entirely self-paid for. And quite a few were cash only. Even at the dole pinneaple plantation we only had 30 minutes. Which meant there was barely time to get a cup of dole whip (again self-paid for) let alone explore before having to head back.
Overall this was a highly disappointing trip made all the worse by the beach gear we brought with us that never saw use.

Should say upfront that it was good to see parts of the island. However the experience was very disappointing. We were picked up last and had the two seats at the back of the small bus which meant my wife sat on the wheel arch with legs cramped and the air con was above us so we received none of it. The trip felt like a cheap package tour stopping at very commercial and fairly unauthentic places to eat and seeing little of the sights or culture. Would be better doing this by car and exploring for yourself.

Our tour around the island was incredibly beautiful. So many things to see and it was made so colorful by our driver Johnny who brought everything to life with his witty personality. I definitely would recommend this trip to all of my family and friends; especially our driver Johnny that made us feel so comfortable.

It goes without saying that the sights along the way were beautiful, as expected with Hawaii, but the real selling point was the guide for this tour.
Our driver Johnny was a charmingly hilarious guide and offered lots of good information about the island from both a tourist guide AND a local standpoint. He makes it a point to get to know his audience by asking questions about where they’re from and does a great job of keeping everyone engaged with jokes and trivia questions. He also made it feel very easy to talk to the other people on the bus, so it wasn’t as awkward on the trip.
Admittedly, he was a bit strict on time, but it was with good reason, because we were able to get to all of the locations ahead of the bus crowd, and we managed to beat all of the lines and get first dibs on everything. It was very fast paced, but there was definitely still enough time to see everything and take plenty of pictures.
The tour felt more like a road trip with friends than your typical guided tour. 10/10 would recommend.

Overall, it was great to have a guided tour of the island. The food was delicious, but we booked through a storefront instead of this website and weren’t told that nothing was included. There were donuts at the first stop and free samples at the macadamia farm, but everything else was a separate charge.
The driver was knowledgeable and very friendly, but many of the stops felt rushed, and some felt like we were being pushed to buy things, especially the fruit stand. All of the stops were also busy. It seems like every tour operator on the island does the same route in the same order leaving at the same time.

This tour was the highlight of my short (5 day, 4 night) stay. The tour van picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel. I liked this because I was traveling solo. The island is beautiful and you get better views of the ocean and mountains then just staying in Waikiki. The tour driver was from the local area and shared both historical and personal stories of the areas we visited. He was also very entertaining (humorous).
It would have been nice to spend a little more time in some of the locations. Maybe they could have a separate tour to some of these locations allowing more time. I would have loved to spend more time at the Dole plantation where they had a train ride and corn maze.
There was a loud rattle at the window that I was sitting at, but I eventually figured out it was the metal emergency window handle tapping against the window so I put a wad of napkins between the window and handle and that fixed the problem.
I was worried about bathroom breaks, but the tour makes many stops, so it was not an issue. One suggestion, they stop at a shop for a bathroom break and to get a cup of coffee or something. I think it was our first bathroom break stop. Anyway, they have some beautiful sun dresses in the back of the store. I was going to buy a dress, but thought I would just wait until I got back to Waikiki. I should have bought the dress there because I could not find anything in Waikiki with the same quality or price. So if you see something you like, get it.
Our tour guide (Si) made sure we stayed ahead of the larger tour buses (2 large 1 small) so we would not have to wait for bathrooms and could spend more time at locations instead of driving behind the large tour busses. Thanks Si (spelling on name probably incorrect)

This should be named “sights only tour.” The bites part comes out of your pocket after each individual stop. It is not included in the tour package. Our family got lucky because we used a Groupon deal to purchase this tour. I felt sorry for the people that paid full price because they were expecting the ‘bites’ part to be included in their payment.
Dole plantation is not worth it. Subpar ice cream plus long lines. Pro tip if you intend to go, do not follow the crowd. There is a line on the other side of the shop that nobody tells you about.
Another pro tip: bring a large tote bag. You will be buying a lot of food/souvenirs at every stop.
Summary: Do not pay full price. Tour consists of stopping at places to eat and sightseeing along the way via window of the van (only time you get to go out is in the beginning of the tour to see the view at diamond head). Bring extra cash and a large tote bag!

Johnny was both amazing and wonderful, he demonstrated his love for the Hawaiian culture through his own personal experiences and vast knowledge of the island and surrounding islands. He was both entertaining, full of local facts and had a great sense of humour . He explained the key areas of interest and highlighted the spectacular beaches along the way. This was a fantastic trip and well organised , especially enjoyed the treats along the way. My only recommendation is that we had a opportunity to stop at one of the beautiful beaches briefly and have a paddle in the sea or so…

Uncle Johnny was a great guide. Great tour and nice stops. It gives you a good overview of the island. Things I recommend you bring are a water bottle and sandals if you want to get your feet wet at one of the stops. Everything else is taken care of.
