      Amazing authentic experience
Absolutely fantastic experience. An incredibly authentic experience with a genuine guide who cares about the locals and the country. Rimas did a fantastic two hour tour of the tea plantations with incredible details, views and opportunities to pick leaves. After this we did a tour of the Norwood estate factory which was again in-depth with a tea tasting. He was so kind to all of us and to all of the local workers. This tour gave a thorough overview of the tea making process with the utmost respect to the local people. I highly recommend. Make sure to enquire about buying some tea at the end! Thank you Rimas again!

      Highlight of our honeymoon
Me and my wife went on this trip with Rimas on our delayed honeymoon in Sri Lanka. Rimas was incredible, showing us in and around Hatton. We stayed at the bungalow where he was the manager, it was by far the best part of our trip to Sri Lanka trip. Since we enjoyed the tea so much at the factory tour, he even managed to give us half a kilo (!) of factory fresh tea on our last day. It was meant for the bungalow and was not for sale, but he fixed it for us as a gift. I cannot recommend him and his tours enough, he really goes the extra mile.

Epic experience within the tea fields
We stayed for one night at the Royal Majesty bungalow within the Norwood estate. Miras took us for a walk through the tea fields to experience the real life of the tea pickers. We were able to see the newyear ceremony. What a great experience. People are so kind and friendly. I really would recommend this place.

I definitely recommend this unique and very beautiful place.

Fantastic guide! It talks about the history of tea, its biology, collecting, processing and Sri Lanka. Extremely interesting.

What is also important and distinguishes it from many other "similar" places. It is non-commercial (no one sells tea for x10, as is often the case in this type of attractions).

Great visit, super interesting from the tea field to its factory design until its tasting as well as the visit to the workers village. The history of Sri Lankan tea in its entirety. Our guide speaks extremely good English and answers precisely and easily all the questions asked.
Thank you very much it was one of our best visit to Sri lanka! 🙏😁

Our recent visit to the The Tea Fields (Hatton), was brilliant. Rimas, our guide, was well-informed and passionate about his craft. He introduced us to the hard-working leaf pluckers and took us into the tea slopes with Hatton tea landscape vistas.
Stepping into the historic factory, established in 1930, was like stepping back in time. Learning about the intricate processes from withering, rolling, fermenting, drying, sorting, and packing that each leaf goes through was fascinating. Rimas' thorough and clear explanations gave us deep insights into the science and artistry behind every cup of tea.
We can't recommend this tour highly enough for anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Whether you're a tea connoisseur or a casual traveller, Rimas' tour, offers an in-depth look into a significant aspect of Sri Lanka's culture.
Thank you, Rimas, for an experience that will stay with us when we sip tea.

This was a really fulfilling tour, covering the history, process and people of the tea industry. We learned so much from our guide (Remas?). We saw the fields, the villages and the factory, covering bush to market ready tea. It was also visually stunning and we finished with a great cup of tea and coconut cake.

This was such a unique and memorable experience! Our guide Mr. Rimas was very knowledgeable. He presented the history of tea production in the country, parts of the tea plant, the machinery in the factory, and even how the finished product gets exported. It was wonderful to see each step of the process--now I can more deeply appreciate each cup of ceylon tea that I drink! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Hatton

It's been few days since we did this wonderful activity along the tea fields of Hatton and we are still amazed as is definitely one of the most genuine experiences in these lands. During the almost 4h tour, a passionate guy, Rimas, guided us through all the insights of the complex tea process starting with the leafes plucking up to the tea factory activities. I definitely recommend this experience as is not only a tour in the tea fields, but a real journey into the history of Sri Lanka and one of its traditional industries.

I will never look at a cup of tea the same way again! This was an amazing experience with some really in depth knowledge from the guide - the best part is that it wasn’t a tourist trap vibe, small group size with plenty of opportunity to engage with the very knowledgeable guide, no exit through the gift shop, in fact no gift shop at all, no hidden agendas to buy stuff or sketchy commission vibes.

Seeing the village and factory were highlights - this was by far the coolest thing we have done in Sri Lanka one week into a 2 week trip!

we got a very very friendly guide who told us lots about tea planting and harvesting in very good and clear English while walking through the tea fields and enjoying the beautiful view and the tea smell. In addition we also went to the village of the tea workers and got impressions about their lifes. In the end we went to a factory and we have been shown complete process of tea production with a tea tasting in the end and the possibility to buy tea in a local shop for normal price. We can really highly recommend to do this trip...not only if you love tea but also if you are interested in the land, its people and its culture.

Our guide was really expert, he guided us through the tea production process (history, plants, tea production). During the 3 hours we were walking through tea plantages, tea workers’ village and the tea factory. We had also opportunity to taste some types of tea. We definitelly recommend this place!

Highly recommend. The most authentic tea tour I’ve been to. It’s 3 hours and you get to see the tea fields, the ladies who pick, a visit to the tea workers village, and ending in the factory to see all the process tea leaves go through to end up in your cup. Truly breathtaking and important to learn such knowledge and history. Our guide Rimas is truly the best guide in Sri Lanka, he tells it as it is, and is someone you can trust for his knowledge and wisdom. Grateful we found this tour! Definitely my highlight of the trip :) I also suggest bringing rice and dal to the ladies who pick tea as a kind gesture.
