Excellent Experience - Engaging Staff
Feb 2020 • Couples
Overall this 7 night trip was outstanding for seeing the beautiful western islands and getting the opportunity to see what the non-city life is like for Fijians. The cruise staff works to ensure you understand Fijian culture expectations, provides historical background, extends warm hospitality and outstanding personal service, and strives to ensure everyone’s wellbeing and safety during water, land based & shipboard activities.

The food served is very good and varied. The bar servers seek to please. The on board staff work as a seamless team to get the job done (their on board & nationally recognized marine biologist, Amos Daniel, also supports the working crew, assists in the bar, and dances with the staff during cultural demonstrations).

Water based excursions for dives, snorkeling and beach time is well coordinated and again, safety is paramount. Glass bottom boat operator, Ice Iskulathan Amos, uses dry wit and humor while giving clear to understand instructions after gaining all on board his boat’s attention with a loud and hearty “Bula!” All staff involved with excursions are constantly scanning the group for indications of any need for assistance.

Accommodations on board are pleasant. The ship is older and the cabins are basic yet functional. Realistically, you are in your cabin to change clothes and sleep on this cruise because they have you on the go from breakfast until after dinner which ends around 8:30pm (with the option to stay in the lounge area or various decks for several hours while listening to live music).

The cruise is also a wonderful social experience. You meet people from all over the world on board and truly build a camaraderie with other guests and the staff quickly.

My wife and I hope for the opportunity to have another adventure on the Reef Endeavor in the future. The 7 days aboard were one of the highlights of our 6 week South Pacific adventure.

Cruise AMAZING, crew BETTER than AMAZING
The 7 day cruise was amazing. Great snorkeling, diving, food, entertainment... but the crew makes this experience.

From:
- Ilisani the entertainment director who was organized, funny and was great at explaining culture and keeping us organized. “Good try..... but no that isn’t the word of the day”
- Amos, the marine biologist who made sure we saw great things on our snorkeling trips
- Billy, the award winning (literally) bartender who made us unique and tasty cocktails.
- Ice, the glass bottom boat driver who got us to the ship after church in rough seas and who was amazing with the children
- Nurse Boo Boo, who is the happiest lady on earth...a big smile constantly
- Susie, Suzanna, Raibe our amazing severs....I’m sure I’m missing a bunch
- The Padi dive crew who kept us safe and ensured we had amazing dives.
- Patricia, the infamous curry cook
- Aspiring deck officer Jack, who ensured I made it back from the hike
- Mela our female 1st officer .... #girlpower! Go Mela!
- and many others we are forgetting but will not be forgotten.

The crew took this experience from great to amazing. We had a blast! Beth & Brian Canada

Wonderful 30th Anniversary celebration!
Extraordinary vacation aboard the Reef Endeavour, Fiji. What a treat it was to spend time cruising the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands of Fiji. Captain Ian and his crew exceeded all expectations with service, entertainment, food, cultural experiences, diving, snorkeling and beaches. The Fijians are such lovely, warm and welcoming people. We experienced a Kava ceremony, a Fijian Church service and school visits. Ilisani did a beautiful job coordinating our daily activities and providing us with a schedule for the day. Captain Ian and crew took us to some of the most beautiful coral reefs and beaches in the world. We had daily information sessions, with Amos, about the coral reefs we were visiting. My husband was thrilled to get his dive certificate during our week long stay. We had a wonderful cultural experience of song and dance from the crew on our last night. Many thanks to Captain Ian and the Reef Endeavour crew for making this an unforgettable experience!

Bula. The best cruise and the first small ship cruise I've been on.
Oct 2019
What a trip this was. It was my first time to Fiji and to cruise on a smaller ship. Had a fantastic time. Island adventure right from day one. Snorkeling, swimming, kayaking or what ever you decided to do. Staff were just lovely and always a smiling face and so eager to assist. Loved Amos' quiz hour. Hilarious and great fun. Food was delicious and great choices. An amazing way to explore Fiji. Would recommend Captain Cook cruises 100% and hope to one day return to do another adventuress cruise. Kathy B, Williamstown, SA

Authentic Fiji - AMAZING
The cruise is a complete island and cultural experience of the Yasawa Islands. You get to wake up each day to a new amazing island. Fiji is such a beautiful place and this cruise let’s you be part of it. Highly recommend!!!

Crew - Family
The crew are what makes this cruise. You are family the minute you get on board. Ilisoni is a fabulous host, Amos the marine biologist is hilarious but also VERY informative on each of the reef visits. Manasa is a great entertainer too. Everyone is always happy to help and make your holiday amazing.

Activities
If you want to just relax you can, for us we snorkelled everyday, twice a day. The water was a warm 27-28c every day. The fish in abundance and so relaxing to just float around with. Cultural visits to schools, churches, villages were also so so good. You can lie on a beach, go snorkelling, go glass bottom boat exploring, or relax on the ship.

Food
Food was extremely good. Every night a different menu for dinner, a sit down alacarte meal. Lunch was also a different buffet each day. Breakfast is a buffet and morning tea, afternoon tea and canapés for supper - never a short supply of food!

Accommodation
All Cabins feature private ensuites and picture style windows,Internal telephone, On/off air-conditioning, Hair dryer, Soaps, Shampoo, bottled water, linen, towels.
Cabin: Open to an inside passageway and have portholes facing the outside. Bedding is 1 Double Bed OR 2 Single Beds OR Bunk Beds. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children.

Amazing staff but maintenance needed on ship
Oct 2019
We went on this cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. The staff on the Reef Endeavor are amazing and are so friendly, welcoming and can't do enough to make sure you have a fantastic holiday. Our only criticism would be the condition of the ship which is in desperate need of maintenance including the cabins. There was work being done during the cruise which I don't believe was acceptable as the last thing you want to hear while trying to relax is the noise of grinders etc....this is by no means a budget priced cruise so I do think they are doing there brand damage by the let down of maintenance. There were only 42 passengers on our cruise which was fantastic but I would imagine would not be financially profitable, maintenance may improve these numbers.....

Please accept our apologies for the maintenance. We do schedule maintenance every 6 months but the ship is of mature age and requires painting a little more often. We limit the noisy work to 9.30am to 11.30am as most passengers venture ashore at this time. We have lots planned for December during dry dock. Thanks for letting us know the crew looked after you so well and that you had a fantastic holiday.

A great restful cruise
Sep 2019
We enjoyed a great week on the Reef Endeavour touring around some of the Fijian islands. The program had many options that allowed us flexibility to choose our daily activities. Some days we wanted to go snorkeling while others were just read a book days. We could be as active or relaxed as we wanted.
The crew were excellent and went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable.
We enjoyed the opportunity to experience some off-ship activities and meet some of the people of Fiji. Our visits to the schools and meeting children were a highlight.

First cruise experience
Aug 2019
This is a stunning part of the world and just what was needed to escape the southern hemisphere winter. The water was warm and the air balmy.
We chose this trip because of the variety of activities available. Every morning offered a snorkelling experience on a different reef. Those who did not want to snorkel were given the options of spending time on the beach with the kayaks and umbrellas delivered by the constantly cheerful and obliging crew and/or a trip in a glass bottomed boat to view the reef from above. Afternoons often offered another beach experience or a visit to a village or school. There were also short talks on board for anyone interested in Fijian culture or aspects of marine biology.
At first we exhausted ourselves by attempting to do everything for fear of missing out! But after a while we settled into boat life and gave ourselves a few afternoons just lying on the sundeck. The most standout experiences were the cave swim and blue lagoon so make sure you don't miss those.
We enjoyed the food - fresh and a wonderful variety - just way too much of it!
We made the mistake of booking one of the cheapest cabins(D porthole cabins). Luckily we were able to upgrade as we found these cabins quite noisy. Probably fine for good sleepers but we slept a lot more soundly once we moved.
This was a very relaxed and casual cruise where everyone seemed to mix easily. The crew topped off their warm, caring service with some wonderful, energetic entertainment on the final evening. All in all a great first cruise experience.

Vinaka (thank you), what a great review. Do as much or as little as you like is such good advice! It is such a great way to unwind from the pressures of work. You can stay busy until you get that busyness out of your system and can finally relax. I hope we can welcome you aboard again soon. It sounds like you really enjoyed you Mamanuca and Yasawa cruise on Reef Endeavour and will have to try a remote discovery cruise soon.

Toxic ship
Aug 2019
The Yasawa islands are beautiful. The blue lagoon was stunning and the cave swimming was awesome.
The ship, however has seen better days and it appears needs constant maintenance and I don’t mean the odd door or window. These guys are sanding & stripping the lead paint, removing rust and painting whilst we cruise the islands, The noise, but mainly the toxic fumes were absolutely not acceptable. Why they think they can expose passengers to hazardous chemicals without advising them is beyond my understanding. Passengers don’t have a choice. We were sunbathing with the molecules of these chemicals being absorbed through skin, nostrils and lungs.
Together with cockroaches on the food, upset tummies, and foggy heads, migraines etc from the paint, it’s one toxic ship. Sad and incongruent for the Fiji Yasawa islands.
When a number of us complained, we were singled out as ‘Sensitive, fussy and extremists! We were informed that ALL ships carry out this type of maintenance whilst cruising. Smokescreen... In our opinion this heavy maintenance should be carried out in dry dock, at the very least passengers must be advised of what is being carried out and what chemicals so to make an informed choice whether to go or not, but it’s not acceptable to expose anyone to harmful chemicals. The workmen were wearing masks but we were not. We came home today feeling sick and totally toxic from the 7 day cruise.

We were expecting your review as you threatened. The paint is very safe and not lead based. The maintenance was on the boat deck aft and not passenger areas. You didnt report cockroaches and we do treat every week. We will dispute this as completely wrong.

Outstanding experience
Jun 2019 • Family
We took a family party of 27 people aged from
“old” to 5 year olds. From the very first email enquiry to the final Isa Lei sung on deck as we concluded the cruise everything was done to perfection.Overriding was the Fijian friendliness , warmth and sincere desire to help and please. The ship is a little dated but has been refurbished and is comfortable. The meals plentiful, varied and beautifully presented. The onboard crew went out of their way to make us feel welcome and a part of their family.
The itinerary and islands visited could not have been better. For those of us who have been to Nadi all our lives this cruise presented the real Fiji.
Our family have had numerous cruises on major cruise lines. If you want crowds, having to stand in
Line , casinos and professional entertainment this cruise is not for you. Nevertheless we encourage you to try an alternative!!!
We will be back to enjoy another lifetime memory
