- 1Ellawalla Cycling trek is one of our most popular cycling treks for two reasons. First, it is almost entirely downhill and you will return uphill by our vehicle. Yes. Second, it provides many unforgettable experiences like village life, paddy fields, rivers, amazing views and a beautiful waterfall. To get to the waterfall you will trek 1.5 km through dense jungle, rocky river beds, and fast-flowing streams. It’s fabulous but please be careful. Villagers use the water from the falls for just about everything so please don’t use it as your toilet facility. You can bathe in the waterfall’s natural pool and during the trip, you can study Sri Lankan village life and enjoy a coconut drink, on us.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 5aleksandern0 contributionsA great safariWe took an amazing safari with very friendly and professional crew- everything started with great contact and setup with Dhanushka, who was just lovely, and a pickup from Arugam Bay by Priyantha who drove us around the park in his tough jeep. We’ve seen it all- birds, water buffalos, elephants, even a leopard! We highly recommend this trip to anyone 👌🏻Written 17 September 2024
- isabellao9110 contributionsBrilliant dayWe booked the evening before we went on this trip and everything was organised so quickly. The whole day felt really smooth, no issues at all. We saw so many elephants 🐘 really close up which was amazing!! Both our driver and the safari guide were really nice people, both stoped to show us sights on the way to the park and throughout the safari. Highly recommend!Written 15 September 2024
- mikerJ8929CZ0 contributionsStrongly recommended! AAA+++I strongly recommend this Kumana National Park Safari while in Arugam Bay! Half day spent watching wildlife in the park is definitely worth going for. Very good contact with the tour operator, pickup on time and very polite and nice driver.Written 7 September 2024
- lelelelelelelle0 contributionsAmazing experience with seeing SL wildlifeWe really enjoyed our trip to Wilpattu and were glad we went with a guide. The company was also able to arrange a private transfer to the park for us at our request. At the beginning of the Safari our guide explained that it is not always possible to see a leopard which we appreciated as we entered the day with the right expectation. We got to see a lot of wildlife including a crocodile, bear, mongoose, toucans, buffalo, eagles, monitor lizards and more. We had a wild elephant come up to our jeep within about 5 metres. Our guide was particularly good at spotting/identifying birds and even though our package was supposed to only include water he brought fresh cut fruit and other snacks for us.Written 3 September 2024

The driver was on time, very friendly and even showed us a local herbal garden on the way to the National Park which was quite interesting. Our Jeep driver and guide in the national park was also very friendly and attentive, and showed us the hidden birds, lizzards and crocodiles throuthough the tour. And of course, we saw a lot of elephants 🐘👌🏼Written 29 August 2024

- catarinamalvess0 contributionsGreat experience, great price! Definitely recommend it!It was a great experience, the driver was really attentive, stoped to show us every kind of animal and was really patient, stopping for as long as we wanted to appreciate the view and take pictures. The trip lasted even more time that was expected ,due to his kindness and patient. On our way back the team provided us watermelon and water was also provided during the trip. The price was really competitive when compared with other safari programs.Written 25 August 2024

Tbh we booked this thinking it was purely cycling experience but it was so much more. We were collected from hotel and picked up our bikes in a safe countryside area. Didn’t really see any cars on our route just the odd local with Tuk Tuk so want to emphasis how safe this trip is. Got to see lots of beautiful countryside and locals going about their daily lives. Duni our guide was fabulous. He explained about daily life / history and had a thorough knowledge of plants and flowers along the way. He was really chatty and we loved his company. We arrived at the waterfall and wow !! It was amazing. Just us and a few locals and we were able to swim and take in the rays. The ride itself isn’t very long as we had lots of stops along the way. If you can ride a bike you can do this tour. Loved our day and highly recommend.
