Great Tasting Room and Informative Tasting
We were a group of four that visited for a tasting. We started with the history, progressed to a tour of the winery and finished with an extremely detailed tasting in their brand new tasting room. They were extremely well organised and gave detailed information on each wine and the Burgundy region and Burgundy wines in general. Definitely a must stop when in the Nuit-Saint-Georges region. The wines were fantastic too!

      Great experience!
Beautiful place with beautiful wines. Jean speaks perfect English. Full of passion and enthusiasm he tells about the wines. We have been able to taste delicious wines. Watching a short film was an interesting addition to all the information about the wine. An absolute must to visit! Thank you Jean!

      One of the best
Having been to many tastings in burgundy, I am happy to recommend this as one of the best. A large and light tasting room, a warm, generous, and knowledgeable owner/guide, a long list of wines to try, older vintages - all adding up to what a great wine tasting should be. It ticks all the boxes. The real differentiator was Jean. With his knowledge of the wines and his joy in sharing them, it made for a 5 star experience. I recommend ringing ahead so you can get him all to yourself.

Superb Wine Tasting Room Experience in Nuits St Georges
I recommend visiting this brand new and well equipped wine tasting room "L'Oenotheque" run by the Dufouleur family in their beautiful estate. Its situated on the main road leading from Dijon into Nuits St Georges and has sampled parking space in the park of the estate. What made this wine tasting experience so different and unforgettable was the passionate presentation by Jean Dufouleur who presented some fantastic wines to us. We ended up buying 18 fine bottles of wine and will treasure this experience. Tasting rooms like this are rare in Burgundy and the tasting fees are waived if you purchase some of their wines, which was an easy decision considering their fine quality and taste. While the tasting room is open without the need for a prior reservation, we recommend to make a booking to get Jean's undivided attention and share his passion for wine making. This was a truly unforgettable highlight of our trip to Nuits St Georges.

An outstanding, informative and passionate presentation of what makes Burgundy the most extraordinary and unique area of wine production in the world.
Jean also shared his vision of a more ecological and nature oriented future for local viticulture …deeply impressive.
The wine tasting session was a master class…I cannot speak highly enough of this experience and would strongly recommend a visit.

This was a fantastic experience, both educational and delicious! Jean was a great tasting guide, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with. He is passionate about the vines, the wines, the history and the environment. If interested in learning about the Climats of Bougogne and sampling some lovely wines, I highly recommend a booking here

Super nice tour. We were first shown around the site where we were told all about the biodiversity and its conservation on their site. Like let the gravel path and grass path become. Inside we got a very detailed explanation about the Burgundy and the different terroirs etc. We got to taste beautiful wines, and were able to take the wines we chose directly home. All in all a very personal, extensive tour with a very enthusiastic Tour guide.

Had a fabulous afternoon with Jean teaching us about their fabulous wines. His passion for wine really came across and would highly recommend for anyone visiting the region either by car, bike or train. Only a 10min walk from station and the village centre is really pretty too.

A truly excellent wine tasting and experience. Our host Jean spoke perfect English and he could not be more welcoming and hospitable. We watched a short video and were then shown the winery and provided with so much interesting information about the Burgundy viticulture and wine making process, far more than we were expecting. Later we were treated to an amazing range of Pinot Noir wines to taste and given plenty of time to taste and compare them. This is a Château where the personal touch and friendliness abounds. We left appreciating the huge amount of effort that goes into making these delicious wines. We really enjoyed this wine experience and highly recommend it.

Our group of four adults had a wonderful experience with Jean learning about what makes Burgundy such a special place in the wine world. Jean’s passion and knowledge helped us better understand the complexities of this unique wine region. This was the highlight of our trip to Burgundy and we couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough. Thanks, Jean!

As the organiser I arrived early. I met Jean. Charming and helpful. My group of friends were delayed having cycled from Beaune. Jean made it clear it was our wine tasting and a delay was no problem. The wine tasting started with explanation of the history of the family and the how they approached wine making. Jean was knowledgeable obviously but he had such enthusiasm and passion. We had a good discussion before sampling 13 wines at a relaxed pace. We all enjoyed the experience and Jean was a perfect host. He treated as guests. I said I would write a review. We were delighted with the experience

Jean Dufouleur was absolutely amazing. The experience lasted for more than 2 hours and 30 minutes, during which we had the opportunity to taste 15 different wines. He displayed an incredible passion for his job and successfully transferred that passion to us. I highly recommend this activity.

We arrived at the Chateau and were met by Jean, a charming french gentleman who spoke perfect English. He was a little busy so he poured us a glass of wine and we sat in the sunshine for a minute or two. He then devoted the next two hours to teach us about the wine process. He was informative and interesting, as well as entertaining.
Then came the tasting. Some of these wines were just superb and with our new knowledge we were able to savour them. There was no pressure to buy although we did because they were just so good.
We had a wonderful time and left feeling we had spent the afternoon with a friend.
