Our amazing guide Peter, took us on our adventure and can I say he needs a raise!! He went above and beyond to make sure we were all having an amazing time and took time out to answer every question we had. Whilst quad biking through water crossings, mud and rocking terrain, you get to see the stunning views and how beautiful Hanmer Springs countryside is. It was just my daughter 21 year old and I together with our guide Pete. We never drove a quad before but that was no problem. Pete took his time to explain everything and then let us do some turns on a practice course. After that he took the lead with a buggy and we followed with the quads. This made us feel very safe because he made sure that we had sufficient practice before picking up speed. We travelled through the beautiful countryside, stopped to take pictures and took in the amazing views. The max speed was 35 - 40 km/h.Written 16 November 2024

Right from when we arrived until we left, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Peter made us feel at ease and explained everything we needed to know. His knowledge of the area was great. The scenery was breathtaking, and there was a great mix of easy riding and the more adventurous stuff. There were stops to admire the scenery, and the pictures Peter took for us were great. Our driver Brendan has decades of experience so we were in very safe hands. He is skilled enough to give his passengers a thrill and also keep them safe. He has great knowledge of the gorge and stopped occasionally to talk about the things we were seeing. Two of our party could not manage the walk down to the boat so his staff went out of their way to get them to the boat by an alternate route.
It’s a ride that really puts roses in your cheeks and keeps you smiling the whole way.

WOW this would have to be up there as one of the best activity's we have done as far as value for money goes...Great staff, Amazing boat driver, great river etc....We highly recommend this to anyone that wants a bit of a thrill in hanmer springs.
Just for the record we have done other boat rides and without naming the opposition companys, this one makes the rest look lame. A++++++++

If you are looking for something exciting, unique and brand new to New Zealand, this 2½ -3 hour trip ticked all our boxes – an inflatable with a jet outboard motor. An inflatable jet can go places a jetboat can’t owing to its shallow draught. With Andrew at the helm our party of five boated to the Lost Canyon, spectacular scenery and a surprise close encounter with a 14-pointer stag who was just as surprised to see us. Andrew is highly skilled and experienced. We felt totally safe under his watchful eye, constantly ‘reading’ the river for safe manoeuvres. A thrilling adventure. Amuri, a family-operated business, is a pleasure to deal with, professional, friendly, prompt communication and highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the experience and had a great time. Very friendly, knowledgeable driver and told us a lot about the area, which we enjoyed. The driver was very experienced and felt very safe the whole time. Would recommend this the gorge trip

Excellent experience. Must do when you come to Hanmer springs. Booked htrough a website with much discounted the rates, but didn't think we have got a discounted service at all. The young man Chris was polite, knowledgeable and very passionate about the jetboating, neither to say his driving skill were amazing!!. We had a big smile on our face through the whole trip. I am also pleased to know that we have supported a small local family business!!

We drove to Hanmer for the day from Chch especially to do these activites and they didnt disappoint.
Despite it being 9 degrees and raining we flew along the river at 85km/hr with Brendan as our driver. It was a thoroughly enjoyable ride and he is a skilled driver. Personally, we would have liked more thrills and spins but it was fun and exciting.
After having lunch in Hanmer we returned for our ATV adventure. Matt took us over to the property and we had a blast!
We were wet and muddy but loved every moment. We saw wild boar, wild deer and got stopped by a grumpy bull. A fantastic combo of hills, water crossings, scenery and more.
An absolute adventure which we would do all over again.
Apologies once again for the muddy state of the 4x4 and borrowed jacket but we dont regret it. 😋😋

The best experience of our life. Jet boating and Quad biking. The operators Chris and Andrew were marvellous! Enjoyed spending every bit of our time with them. Both of them were highly knowledgeable regarding local area and their profession too.
Best part about Jet Boating - the famous "360 spin" and how fascinating the boat itself was.
Best part of Quad Biking - riding through the creeks and the ability of the 4WD riding through those muddy terrains.
We would highly recommend this place to all the tourists looking for some adrenaline rush.

We booked a short jet boating adventure at very short notice. Amuri couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The river was quite full that day, making for some impressively turbulent and choppy water. But our driver Brendan took it all in his stride and showed us what can be done in a jet boat. It's fast, bouncy, and quite a thrill. During a couple of quieter moments, Brendan pointed out some interesting features of the landscape and some of the history of the area. Wear decent shoes, a hat and sunnies that won't blow away as you blast along, and don't get all precious about maybe getting a bit wet. Highly highly recommended.

Kind and great people. They went over and beyond to help my Mum not miss out (as she has breathing problems), took her to the other side of the river (as it poured down the night before) to hop on the jetboat and also picked her up. We all had a great time and plan on going back.

This is a must do when you are in Hanmer Springs. Value for money and the staff are just so lovely and friendly.
Our family had an awesome time. We learnt a lot from our driver about the river and it surrounds and loved the number of 360 degree jet spins.
There is a steep walk down to the boat, but there is a rope to hang onto.
Would highly recommend and when we are back in Hanmer Springs we will go jet boating again.
