About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CherylM7200 contributionsWOW! Our favorite day of a great trip.Read and believe all of the previous reviews because they perfectly describe the wonderful day that Julie provided for my husband and I. She drove us to the top of a mountain and walked us around one of her beautiful acres of vines and olive trees. We waved to both her grandfather and her father when we were driving to her home! Julie - you will be the reason why we will return. Hopefully in August so we can stomp some grapes.Written 15 November 2018
- Aivilotin0 contributionsRobola, Robola, Robola ......It was just the two of us and we did not know what to expect. It was really interesting and enjoyable. Julia was an excellent host and guide.Written 4 October 2016
- scotchollie0 contributionsAbsolutely perfect. Do it.Superb. Julia is the perfect host. Relaxed, knowledgeable and a great driver. As a photo journalist, I've been lucky enough to travel and see most of Europe and reviewing sites, hotels, holidays and must-see places is second nature. So, take it from me, when something stands out and catches my attention, different, personal and utterly charming, it deserves to be explored and enjoyed. You won't be disappointed - please tell Julia I said hello! CraigWritten 21 October 2015

We had a wonderful time with our guide Julia driving us around the island and telling us all about the history of the art of winemaking. She is a wine farmer herself and very passionate about her life. The highlight of the trip was us visiting her families house and having a traditional meal with wine and local food.
Julia was good fun and we enjoyed every minute of the trip.
A must do trip when you are on Kefalonia!!

I cannot put into words what a lovely late afternoon my friend and I spent on this tour.
Julia is beyond the perfect host. She gave us a great guided tour through the countryside, stopping to walk us through a part of her families vineyard and olive trees.
Her grandfathers winery at her family home is a beautiful relic and she told us about the traditional wine making process. We tried wine that they still make today for their family home which we ate with a beautiful, traditionally prepared snack.
At the wine cooperative we tried 8 delicious wines, all unique and it was wonderful to share it with Julia and the other couple who joined our tour.
The perfect day out and cannot recommended more.
TIP: if it looks like it’s is sold out when you go to book, contact Julia directly as she may have space available

What a fabulous afternoon. We were picked up by Julia in an air conditioned car and shared the tour with one other couple. We travelled to the centre of the island and visited vineyards, Julia's family home where she showed us how to prepare a greek snack accompanied by wine and then onto a winery where we enjoyed wine tasting. Julia was very informative and shared her knowledge of the farming of grapes and olives on the island. We booked before travelling and I recommend that you book early as possible as we found that our preferred dates were fully booked quite some time before. I would also recommend that you book to do this tour as early on in your holiday as possible so that you have a better understanding of the range of wines on offer to you when you eat out.
Highly recommended!

Wasn't sure what to expect on this Wine tour on Kefalonia but it was a fantastic way to spend four hours. Julia was the perfect host and the one and only other couple on our tour, Lee and Jodie, were excellent company despite our twenty year age difference. We learnt so many interest things during our four hours and thoroughly enjoyed the wines we tasted. Really enjoyed the light Greek lunch that Julia prepared for us as well. There is the option to buy the wines you have sampled but no pressure at all. If you like wine, we would thoroughly recommend and a huge thank you to Julia for such a memorable afternoon!

We booked this wine tour in the 1st week of September and was on perfect weather. We were picked up from our accommodation by Julia herself and she made us feel so comfortable as soon as we met. Apart from giving us all the infos about wines and region, she was very friendly through out a time.
The highlight of a day was when she took us to her parents' house to show where her grandpa used to make wines. Where she served us her homemade grappa and wine with snacks and taught us how to eat in a Greek way.
All in all, it was very lovely afternoon. she was very easy to talk to. Loved her hospitality.

Julia picked us up and from the moment we were in the minivan it was a great experience, she described the islands history as well as going into intimate detail about her families heritage as wine and olive oil makers. We were taken to a vineyard owned by her family then onto her family home for a light snack with some wine to wash it down with. The last stop was the cooperative brewery. Julia sat with us and took us through the wine tasting with exceptional knowledge and there was absolutely no pressure to buy, though we ended up getting two bottles at a very reasonable price! Overall this is a must when you’re visiting Kefalonia!!

The trip was booked for my husbands birthday by his brother and sister in law who also came with us on the trip.
Julia who runs the wonderful tour picked us all up from our hotel in lassi, she’d already collected another couple from another hotel so there was 6 of us in total.
We were taken to the vineyards where Julia’s family work taking care of the vines and olive trees.
Next we were taken to a family home where she told us the story of her family and how they produced wine many years ago, then we were offered some of the most amazing nibbles which consist of fresh bread, olive oil, tomatoes, feta, olives and of course some delicious wine.
Once we’d finished we were taken to the Robola Winery to finish the afternoon sampling some of the most delicious wines tasted.
We would recommend this trip to anyone.

We booked this tour before leaving the UK and based on the great reviews on this site - I'm so pleased we did as we had a fantastic time. Julia, whose family are grape and olive farmers and have been for generations, collected us from our villa near Svoronata and we discovered we were the only people booked on the tour. We were taken to see one of the family's vineyards where Julia told us about the process of growing the robola grapes through to harvest as well as talking about the process for the olives. We then went to her family home for a traditional light meal of feta cheese, bread, olive oil (their own of course) and tomatoes with dried wild oregano and a glass of wine. She explained how the village had relocated after the earthquake of 1953 and how her grandfather had rebuilt the 'barn' for the family's small scale wine production. Next we went to the winery, run as a cooperative, where we tasted 7 wines - 2 white, 2 rose, 2 red and a dessert wine before being returned to our villa. Julia was a superb host. Her English is excellent so we were able to ask loads of questions, not just about the wine and olives but also about the Greek way of life and differences between her culture and ours. In case anyone thinks a very small tour like this means you'll experience hard sell to buy wine at the winery, there is absolutely no attempt to sell anything. The family's olive oil can be purchased. I didn't get any as we had limited euros with us but I would have liked to. We did buy some wine at the winery (paying by card) so I hope it survives our trip back to the UK!! This is a tour I would highly recommend if you like wine and want to do something different, finding out a bit more about the island you're staying on. This is the second small and personal type tour we have done on Kefalonia (we did one when we visited Kefalonia for the first time in 2015) and they are an excellent way to see parts of the island you may not have otherwise visited and to really learn something about the local way of life from people who are passionate about their heritage.

We learned so much from Julia, our lovely host. Saw a beautiful area of Kefalonia. Enjoyed wonderful hospitality. Tasted delicious wine, olive oil and olives. Julia provided us with such a memorable afternoon - would have loved to have been able to capture the buzz of the bees and the sound of the bells of the goats. Thank you so much. x

Julia is an amazing guide and host and her tour gives you wonderful insights into the tradition and heritage of olive and vineyard farming in Kefalonia.
She adds her warmth and generosity to the stunning scenery and takes you to her family’s carefully tended olive groves and vineyard followed by a trip to her family home to learn more of the process and taste some delicious produce! This is followed by a wine tasting visit to a stunning winery where 2 of the wines we sampled included her family’s grapes.
My husband and I were very lucky to have the experience all to ourselves and the afternoon was wonderful - the trip was recommended to us by a friend and it was honestly even better than we anticipated. Julia’s company and insight into life in Kefalonia is not to be missed!
Thank you for a wonderful experience Julia.

Where is the location of the winery? Is it at one winery or multiple? Is the pickup spot in skala or closer to Argostoli? Would we be able to meet u at the winery instead of at skala? If the pickup is in skala, can we still cancel and get a refund?

We were collected from our hotel in Sparta. Taken for a tour to Julia’s vine and olive groves. Then to her parents house for lunch and wine. Then to the Robolo winery to sample eight wines and visit the shop.
The most amazing trip ever. Simply the best. Julia is a fabulous host.

We have 4 of us staying at a villa in Sami. Is there pick up from there or would we have to go somewhere else for pick up? We are visiting the 2nd week of September.

Julia picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Argostoli. I think you would need to contact her to find out if she could provide transport from Sami.
