A beautiful town in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, Pitigliano is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and Orange Flag. Also nicknamed The Little Jerusalem, because starting from the sixteenth century it hosted a large Jewish community within its walls, Pitigliano is now one of the most fascinating historic villages in Italy and an unmissable stop on a trip to Tuscany. Perched on a tuff cliff, the town rises imposingly on the valleys of the Lente, Meleta and Prochio streams, offering a wonderful view of the wild and unspoiled nature of this area of the Tuscan Maremma.

      Poor customer service
The tour itself was fine but the customer service was unsatisfactory. I mistakenly double booked the Bologna walking tour for two different dates. I attended the first tour which was fine. When I later realized I was still booked for a second tour I immediately cancelled it online. Sadly, however, I was already apparently within the 24 hour “no cancellation” window. Viator said they contacted the operator who refused to help and charged me for a tour which I actually cancelled. The tour operator and Viator got double paid for a tour I attended once. I doubt they actually turned a willing customer away because of my mistaken booking. Both Viator and the tour operator need to be more flexible and customer oriented. The entire experience just leaves a bad taste. Rich McAlpin

      City walk
Nice walk with interesting information about the history of the city. I would have liked some more food/restaurant recommendations.

      Good tour
The pace was relaxed, allowing us to really enjoy the sights. The only thing that could have improved the experience was a bit more time at some of the key sites. Overall, a wonderful tour and highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn about Bologna's charm!

      Absolutely terrific
Sabrina was wonderful. She took us to 5 locations, one more breathtaking than the next, filling in a great deal of history about the early Christian era as well as Ravenna’s evolution. It is difficult to overstate the impact of these huge but remarkably detailed images made of small pieces of glass so many centuries ago. One suggestion would be that the tour could have been even better if she had used one of those radio transmitters that so many guides are using these days. But I can’t downgrade her at all for this. She was always audible and intelligible, and we appreciate what she added to our experience. The company could make the signing-up process a bit clearer, as I suggested to Chiara.

Authentic and informative history tour in city center
Maria guided us through city center, in a small group. She told us stories about the people, cultures, and buildings of Bologna. This was a perfect way to start exploring the city. Big thanks to Maria for the tour.

      Never again!
It isn't worth a penny! You just get a ticket what you could buy yourself for 3€ and some negligible vouchers. Avoid it! It is a mere scamp!

      Very Interesting
This was a very interesting tour, Benedikta showed us and explained to us the kinds of details that put what we were looking at in context. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, the tour isn't overly long, but the ground is uneven.

      Pleasent Italian lady
We've walked around the city the previous day and saw 80% that was presented. It was ok. But during this walking tour, we've got a lot of insights and background stories. It was like opening up our third eye or something. I would have regretted if we had to return from Bologna without knowing these amazing things about the city. We got our little earphones and a wonderful authentic lady with a pleasant Italian accent. It took 2 hours which was enough. We could have had questions in the end of the tour.

      Stock standard tour
The tour guide was very well informed about her town but there was a bit too much information without any small breaks to take it all in. We also purchased the food vouchers which we didn't think were that great regarding choice of items to eat. It was nice being shown the old lanes where traditional Bolognese food items are made.

      Getting to Know Lucca
My husband and I were introduced to Lucca by Amanda who was our guide for a walking tour. Amanda provided the best way for us to become more familiar with the city. Lucca has a rich history and this was best learned from Amanda who was a former art history teacher. She was informative and very accommodating to our questions, pace and interest. She even showed us a great cafe which we returned to several times. I highly recommend Amanda and this tour!

      Not worth it
Not worth the added expense. We could have purchased tickets for the train at the same place everyone else did at 1/3 the price. We had no advantage as someone just handed us our tickets to the train, gave us a map of the city, and gave us a voucher for 10 per cent off at some cafe that was way out of the way for us to even find and two other vouchers for samples at places that were also out of the way. We had to wait in line to board the train just like everyone else. We were not given any priority. Definitely not worth the extra money.

We enjoyed this gorgeous town and the history. Our guide was great and spent extra time on the places we were most interested in seeing. I would say the price was a little steep, but if you've got some extra time and extra dollars, definitely worth a visit with tour guide. The town has a rich history and we learned alot. It's a medieval wonder!!

Elizabetta gave us a wonderful walking tour of Pitigliano. She was born and raised there and is able to speak about the past as well as the present.
