In puerto Vallarta on a cruise. The cruise port is directly across the street from a nice mall, Walmart and Sam’s Club. After having been there previously, we were dismayed to discover that the area is now totally fenced in with no exit other than the one a shuttle drops you at near the duty free shops and flea markets. If you attempt to exit through one of the three openings a port guard will deny you access and point you towards the duty free shops instead. The only pedestrians they allow in or out are employees of the port or cruise ships. The shuttle is misleading, it claims to take you to the shopping center for free. The shopping center is that cluster of shops and flea market. It’s not downtown or even across the street. Then they request tips for the service of driving you to the entrance. You might as well forget shopping directly across the street if you have any mobility issues. It ends up being a long walk. By the time we realized this, it was already too late to make a quick run across the street for some last minute shopping especially after we had already walked to and from that only exit already. Might as well catch a cab to dive you across the street and back since they only allow vehicles in thru the nearby entrances.

I had a group needing hotel transfer. We were met as promised and quickly transfer to our hotel. The return trip, vehicles were early and drivers were friendly and helpful.
