About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Allison S0 contributionsJames Bond and Matera HistoryWe had a wonder experience with Martilli on the James Bond tour. We saw all of the filming sites and also more importantly we got a great understanding of the history of Matera. So fascinating, we really enjoyed it.Written 15 December 2024
- Traveler036880950600 contributionsSolo travellers bewareVery disappointed with Martulli Viaggi. I booked a Matera: Sassi di Matera Tour with Entry to Cave Houses on November 19, 2024 using Get Your Guide and paid upfront as a solo traveller. With only one day in Matera, I arrived at the meeting point at 3pm to be met with the receptionist stating that there was noone to take me on the tour. I couldn't understand why and no reason was given. She called her supervisor who stated I had to pay a further £30 for someone to take me. I refused. It felt like it was solely because there was only one person on the tour. They could have cancelled a few weeks before to allow me the chance to rebook with another company. They proceeded to issue a refund stating the reason was due to inclement weather. It was a beautiful day. I will never recommend this company who effectively ruined my one day in Matera with no thought or consideration.Written 19 November 2024

- fionaj6970 contributionsWalking tour of MateraThe guide was friendly and welcoming. However, we didn't feel that we were given much history about the place and its people.Written 8 October 2024

- jane1608640 contributionsDisappointingHonestly £50 for two, started late, over 30 people. Guide was hard to understand, couldn’t hear, no passion at all in such a historic area. Found out more from Google - so very disappointing. We left the tour 15 minutes from the end, so disappointed after paying so much money! Recommend discovering this magical and historic area by walking and googling! Have always found Free walking tours to be so much more informativeWritten 30 September 2024

- anniehI98HX0 contributionsAmazing hike, beautiful viewsClaudio is an amazing guide, so friendly, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The hike is amazing and there are so many cool things to see along the way - the Tibetan bridge, cave churches, local plants, the river, beautiful views os the Sassi, and more. Make sure to bring hiking shoes and water, this trip is a bit strenuous!Written 21 September 2024
- V5078CDloris0 contributionsNot pleasedOur guide was very broad strokes. No major details. Left not knowing how caves got there. Felt like I wanted a historian or architect to explain things but instead got a sweet older woman who didn’t provide insight.Written 20 September 2024
- rijo_eshaya0 contributionsWorst Guide. Awful ExperienceWe would like to place a formal complaint with regard to our Alberobello tour (booking # GYGG46YHXB24) which took place September 16 at 10:30am. As we discussed with you on that day, we are very angry at the tour guide who left us stranded early on the tour during a moment of photo opportunity. When we were finally able to reach our guide, INGO, by phone, he was very arrogant and condescending. He went as far as saying it wasn't his fault that we didn't catch up to him. His impoliteness was most unacceptable. In total dismay, we had no choice but find our way around and likely missed important information and many photo opportunities in this once in a lifetime trip. We have taken many tours through get you Guide and others and have found that the guides were always friendly, looked out for us, and confirmed the group was together. So this was a very frustratingly unique situation we found ourselves in. We finally walked around ourselves and eventually were able to get to our start point where our car was parked. Needless to say that we expect a full reimbursement of the tourWritten 20 September 2024

- tdsjp0 contributionsAlberobello wonderful tourOur guide took a small group around the town . Interesting facts and good humour busting myths. This is a wonderful town to visit. Lots to see and do. Plenty of shops and restaurants.Written 15 September 2024
- WanderingJane44970 contributionsTuk Tuk Your Way Around Matera!I would recommend using this service, especially if you have difficulty walking. Made my life so much easier and our guide, Andrea, was kind, informative and made sure we saw all the key sights. Matera involves quite a bit of walking and on a hot day, it can become arduous. Tuk Tuks are a great solution...and fun!Written 6 September 2024
