      Centro Storico Otranto
Stop: 90 minutes - Admission included
You will meet the guide at the Castle of Otranto and you will begin the visit of one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, overlooking the sea. Otranto is located at the easternmost point of the heel of Italy, which is why it has always been considered the gateway to Italy for populations from the East. It is certainly one of the most historically and culturally important centers of the Salento, thanks to the presence of ancient churches and buildings, of the Aragonese castle built at the end of the 15th century, the towers and walls that protected the city. During the guided tour you will discover its characteristic historical center, meeting, from time to time, glimpses of landscapes where the village meets the famous crystalline sea. You will have the opportunity to enter the Cathedral of the Annunciation which houses one of the most beautiful mosaics in southern Italy, built in the second half of the 1100s and which represents the tree of life.

      Great experience in Puglia
It was a wonderful experience. Alessandro was an amazing, knowledgeable, and passionate guide. The car was spacious and comfortable. In spite of the bad weather, this tour became one of the best moments of my trip to Italy.

Excellent tour with Erika, highly recommend.
The tour was brilliant, Erika was a great guide, extremely knowledgeable and brought the history to life. We learned so much about the tragic past of Otranto and the hope for now and the future. Highly recommend. Thank you, Tara and Tony, Ireland

      minor pilgrimage
unequal and molested exceptional drive up the 840 m. town. However the burdened complexity of uses, consecration, conflicting utilities, awesome building molestations, fine views, touristic overexploitation, crowds and pilgrimages renders this perpendicular promontory of value in two singular respects: 1. The Umbra views eastwards 2. The Manfrediana views towards the Adriatic 3, Walking opportunities, few eating clear shots 4. Kind hearted responses from strangers

Excellent itinerary and highly recommended tour
We did the 6D 5N Unesco Puglia & Matera Wonder Holiday Package. We booked directly with Turisti in Puglia. The itinerary was great. We loved all the places/towns visited and stayed in. All the hotels we stayed in were charming and well located. In general, all the drivers we had were excellent and all the tour guides were professional and knowledgeable and spoke good English. I particularly liked that the guides were real locals. I have done lots of "free walking tours" in Italy and can speak from experience that the guides we had on this tour was by far superior. Another thing we liked a lot was the ease of dealing with Enza and her team, whether by email or by whats app. I highly recommend this tour agency.

Beautiful preserved sanctuary surrounded by gorgeous scenery and welcoming culture
Tonia, our guide, was wonderful! She provided interesting history teachings and was pleasant and professional. The Monte Sant' Angelo sanctuary is beautiful and the castle where we met up for the walking tour was also rich in history. The little town is filled with friendly people and the scenery around the area, breathtaking! It's well worth traveling to visit. It's like a best kept secret. So if you need a private guide to learn the history of the area and sanctuary, Tonia is the best person for the job! 😊

      Walking tour ostuni
Lucia is lovely. Whilst her English was OK, to be honest it wasn't good enough to provide a good overview without confusing us a little.

      Great walking tour in Locorotondo!!
Very informative tour around the historical center of town. Our guide was Luciano and he gave us a lot of information about the town and answered our questions about other towns as well. He was very friendly and loved telling us about the area.

      Steeped in history
Beautiful city giving exactly what you would expect - lovely views. A town steeped in history and should be seen in conjunction with Cisternino and Alberobello for comparison.

      Just right
Excellent experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful. Our group was both Italian and English and she handled that with ease. We were lucky in that there were only five people on this tour. I don’t know what the maximum number is.

Helpful guide with interesting historical stories
The guide was right on time. She took us through much of the historic area and gave us descriptions of buildings, fountains, and the limestone used for the streets and buildings. She answered our questions fairly well and helped us find a taxi for the next day’s visit to Alberobella Where she would be our guide.
