Lovely City
Jan 2020
It's quite a long drive to Valencia from Benidorm but our lovely rep Katie gave us lots of interesting information about the scenery on the way, without being too intrusive with the microphone! We enjoyed the bus top tour of the city (optional, and cheaper via Round Town than booking it on line). The trip was definitely value for money.

Good trip despite the weather
Jan 2020
We booked this trip before "Storm Gloria" hit Costa Blanca. The trip went ahead, and I have to say, the coach driver was amazing for driving in such horrendous conditions. Valencia was interesting, and Katie, our guide, was quite informative. Some people on the coach had booked an open top bus tour, but the buses weren't running due to the weather, which wasn't identified until we had arrived. As we hadn't booked that trip, I don't know what else was suggested in its place. The weather in Valencia, though a bit wet, wasn't as bad as on the coast, but we still stayed dry by spending a couple of hours visiting Valencia Cathedral and attached museum - well worth a visit. Valencia is a pretty city, and in good weather would be a great place to spend a day.

Brilliant day out from the beginning to end. Valencia itself has everything a city should have, historical elements, state of the art buildings, wonderful shops, restaurants, and sunshine (most of the year).
The Roundtown trip is good because they take you right into the center of the historic area where you have the option of 3 different routes of tourist bus, for which tickets can be prebooked with Roundtown at a discounted rate.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day, and arrived back in Benidorm at approximately 7.30.
Great to have a no stress day.
Thanks to Roundtown travel.

Our visit to Valencia was fantastic our only issue is that we had to much time in Valencia 3hrs but could have done with having more time at Oceanographic, which is utterly fabulous.

Great travel company
I’ve booked a couple of excursions with Round Town before and can’t fault their professionalism and detailed expertise. The tour guides are very clear in explaining itineraries and are extremely helpful should you need assistance. A complete contrast to the shambles I encountered with the Elche trip the other day (booked through RT only as a booking agent) which was run by Local Tours (refer to my review there fo more clarification).

I can’t fault Round Town for their service, however a couple of friendly suggestions I think might be something to consider. As most of the passengers are predominantly English or British, it might be helpful to have your leaflets and brochures in translations for those who are foreign but might not be native Spanish as well as Spanish translations (even if to save paper you might put them onto your website). Secondly it might be a good idea perhaps to offer perhaps an excursion which includes Elche and Alicante tours with free time. After my experience of being the only two English speakers on the trip and being neglected a lot of the time for Dutch (to a degree understandable when there’s a majority), I would in future find a way of going to Elche on my own.

I would definitely recommend booking with Round Town again as they do a lovely selection of tours themselves and the Valencia one especially! Avoid the optional extra for bus tour as it’s a waste of your free time you could enjoy exploring the old quarter. (Again RT only act as an agent for the València tour buses.)

My top tips: use your whole free time as it gives you time to avoid rushing, especially the cathedral. Audio guide is included in the price of admission which is cheap compared with Westminster Abbey (the cost there will give you a fright).

I’d do that as soon as you get to València because you need time to soak it all in. La Santa Caliz is a must see, especially beautiful in that you can just sit there in peace, saying your silent prayers and reflect. Incredible place which marries architecture and influences centuries and millennia old.

La Lonja is only 2€ entry and you can get audio guides if you need to , unless previously you’ve read up on this amazing marketplace. Stunning little patio decked with beautiful orange trees as you enter.

Plenty of horchaterías where you can experience the delicious taste of an orxata and farton to go with it. You’ve never tasted anything so sweet and satisfying. Try an agua de valencia- unfortunately still on my to do list as couldn’t drink one in this heat when I was out.

For football fans, you might choose the Mestalla and for an alternative way to spend a few hours you might fancy the oceanografíc.

Don’t forget this place is also a shopperholic’s paradise - treat yourself to a beautiful ceramic piece or unique jewellery or leather goods. Or there’s Primark!

Avoid red bus tour, museum and market closed before we got there.
Jul 2019 • Family
The positives are that, the travel was very comfortable, the tour script during the travel was all very good.

Now, the negative, we were sold the red tour (equivalent to hop on hop off UK) stating it would be a trip of the historical places in valencia.
We went ahead with it. Big mistake.
All the main places are within the drop off area. We were sold paper tickets and we all stood in the queue for the bus, however since we didn't have the little actual ticket, the operators let the people behind us get into the bus, which meant we got the bottom seats and missed out on sitting on the top level of the bus.
What we got to see where some new buildings, just like any other UK town and at the end we reached back to where we started and that's where all the beautiful buildings are.
By then, we all were hungry. This is not just us four family, another old couple were also very upset by this.
We had to eat some lunch.

After which we planned to go to the museum and indoor market. Walked over to both places, only to be told its shut. This is at 3.15 in the afternoon.
Had we not taken the red bus tour, we would have seen both museum and the market. Eventhough we did ask about things to do in Valencia and especially about these two POI, we were not given this information about closing times.

We didn't have anything to do after this and had to spend extra money to sit in cafes and ice cream places to spend our time.

Back in the bus, there was no excitement when asked how the day was.

I regret not visiting oceanographic instead, as I could have spent it on that instead of ice cream, cafes and red bus tour(avoid)

If there is another way to travel to Valencia, I would take that next time around.

Very nice day out
We went on a day trip to Valencia with round town travel. It was a very good day out. We were picked up down the road from our hotel. The only fault we found was when walking around Valencia the guilds were walking a bit fast for some of the older people in the group. We did the optional bus trip around the city which was very interesting.
