About
Our experienced guides have a wealth of information about the local flora, fauna, history and culture of the northern Coromandel. This is the rugged remote wild side of the Coromandel peninsula that many of the visitors miss out on as the gravel roads up north get hard to travel on. We keep our group sizes relatively small and use a 4WD to access the tricky roads up north.

Fantastic experience on the Coromandel Walkway
Great scenery and super friendly and professional service - just as advertised and perfectly run from pick up to drop off!

You can’t go wrong booking this walk - makes the whole experience easy and safe, avoids having to backtrack three hours
to the beginning of the walkway or handle any transport logistics...

Personal commentary on all the history and geography of the area was a real bonus, and the comfortable van and a cup of tea at the end of the walk were also much appreciated...

No hesitation in recommending this to anybody who wants to experience the best of the Coromandel!

Kia Ora Sandy! Thanks for choosing Coromandel Adventures for your trip to the Coromandel Coastal Walkway! It's great to hear you enjoyed the convenience of the transfers to and from the walk.... in addition to being able to relax and enjoy the views at the end of the walk.... we believe that a freshly made cup of tea/coffee & snack at the end of a great walk is hard to beat too!

Great value for money, amazing walks & great guides!
Feb 2021
I booked this tour on a very very short notice (called at 9:45 pm for a tour the next day). This was not a problem at all and they were happy to take me the next day! This was great news and I don't regret my phone call! I had an amazing day! We had great weather! The walk (Stony Bay - Fletcher Bay) is stunning! I did the walk in 2 hours 45 minutes and had to wait for over 1 hour (till last person of our group finished the walk), but I didn't mind, because of the great view and company (guides) at Fletcher Bay. After this we did the Muriwai walk, which is easy peasy after the first walk and stunning as well!

I was in doubt to book a shuttle/tour to do the Walkway or just drive myself. Well, I would recommend to book this tour, because it is gravel road, you can make the most of your day (multiple walks: no rush) and you can enjoy the stunning views while your guide tells you more about (the history of) Coromandel. Great value for money!

The guides really try to get to know you (if you want to of course) and make you feel comfortable. You are not just a number to them which feels great.

Thank for the amazing day!

Kia Ora! Thanks for your generous review of your time with Coromandel Adventures on the Coromandel Coastal Walkway! We usually advise people book early to avoid disappointment so were stoked that we could adjust the plans and make this work for you at short notice! One of the things we enjoy the most about the Coromandel Coastal Walkway (apart from travelling through such beautiful scenery) is the chance to connect with like-minded people and share the stories of the area.... nothing beats some extra insight into the area to give extra context to the spectacular views!

Coromandel Walkway
Jan 2021 • Friends
We went as a group of six. Sarni was our guide and she really went over and above to make our tour wonderful. Sarni is very knowledgable about the area, Maori history and a passionate conservationist. We enjoyed learning about the Coromandel Peninsular, and also about the walk we had come to do. There were plenty of opportunities on the way to, and from the walk to take photos. Would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Sarni

Beautiful Coromandel
6 of us did this adventure yesterday (most of us in our 50's). Firstly it's a tricky road out to Stoney Bay as it's loose metal and very narrow. Mike our driver was experienced and being a local knows the roads well. I would never want to drive this route myself. It's roughly a 10km walk through beautiful bush and breathtaking views of all the beautiful islands along this coast. At times it becomes quite steep and you need a decent level of fitness and good walking shoes. Mike picked us up at Fletcher's Bay and you have the option of another 50 minute walk. It's a long day due to the road out there but I totally recommend it.

The walk is well worth the road trip at each end. The effort the owner went to to get an extra person so we could do the trip was really appreciated. Mike, our driver/guide, excellent with lots of local knowledge and a great driver. Hen ensured that our boots were sprayed against Kauri Dieback disease, an great step in our view. We highly recommend the company and trip.

Driver (Dave) beyond amazing; hikes stunning
Mar 2020
The entire day was fabulous. We were picked up at our B & B and then picked up two other couples. Van was very comfortable. We were driven to Stony Bay with lots of commentary on the way by our driver. Dave (name is really longer). He was an exceptional driver. Knew the difficult roads and we always felt safe and got to really enjoy the scenery. . He brought to life his Maori culture as well as the efforts of the DOC and other groups to protect endangered wildlife as he directs teams in those efforts. Seems like he splits his working time between driver/guide and conservation team leader. There was a 3+ hour hike to Fletchers Bay (where Dave me us) and then drove us to another area for a 1 hour hike on part of the Muriwai Both hikes were beautiful!! This was a wonderful way to see this part of the Coromandel Peninsula.

Kia Ora Donna Thanks for your especially personal feedback regarding your experience with Coromandel Adventures, our guide Dave and the spectacular Northern Coromandel! Connecting our visitors with our special places and stories is one of the reasons we love what we do, and all work so hard to protect and look after it. We agree, Dave is a super-hero when it comes to his personal commitment to conservation!. It's great to hear you felt safe, comfortable and easy during your time with us.

Lovely walk
Taking this trip saves having to drive for almost 2 hours on mainly unsealed roads. It also makes it possible to do the 9k walk without having to return on the same path.
Our guide Willy was very knowledgable about the Coromandel peninsular area.

This is a fabulous day tour. My Four teenage granddaughters did the walk and I toured in the van to pick them up from Fletcher Bay. Spectacular scenery and a great day had by us all.
