The way of teaching us beginners was perfect. Basics on the sand and soon enough we got in the water. With helpfull tips and a good surfspot you felt a real surfer! We were very happy with both the instructors, after lessons they even had helpfull tips what to visit in the vicinity of Lisbon.

Amazing time learning the basics and applying them with longboards. Fully recommend them for an introduction into one of the most amazing water sports

Ricardo and Marco are two great surf instructors! They teached us very well and they made us enjoy one of the most diffcult sports in the world. We had fun togheter while surfing and not! I did five lessons and now thanks to Ricardo ( and Marco ) I want to start surf as my main sport. I higly recommend South adventures! Surfing with them it was one of the funniest experiences I’ve ever done.

We (me and 4 grown up children) had surf lessons with Nuno and then Ricardo. Both of them were excellent, teaching us everything we needed to know and spending a lot of time in the water with us. They were very patient and a lot of fun. I want to come back again and continue with lessons ( I could feel myself getting slightly better each time). If you want to try surfing, these are the guys to call. They really want everyone to learn to surf. I highly recommend lessons with South Adventures.

I spent a week in Lisbon of which I went three days surfing with South Adventures. Ricardo is just the best teacher you could wish for as a first time surfer - very patient, encouraging, and really great at enabling you to make fast progress. Can only recommend this school! It was really fun and great to get to know new people!

My husband and I did three SUP surf sessions with Ricardo last weekend. It was already the third time we did a session at South Adventures and it will definitely not be the last time. Being „intermediate beginners from the Baltic Sea in Germany“, where you never have the same glassy conditions as in Lisbon, there were a lot of mistakes to work on 😅. Ricardo always had the right words and suggestions that took us to the next level within just a few hours. Watching the videos with his comments also helped so much to improve our skills. And apart from that there are some things that make Ricardo the best teacher you can find in the Lisbon area, maybe in all of Portugal: - he is super reliable! If you book a lesson at a certain time and place, he‘ll be there right on time and prepared. - his English is very good, so you can always understand what he‘s trying to teach. - he has so much experience that it just takes seconds till he knows what you’re doing wrong and how to improve it. - everything‘s always very uncomplicated. Just drop him a message and he‘ll find a way to let you have a good time - he loves his job. He‘s so enthusiastic about your improvement that it pushes you further! Thanks Ricardo, we‘ll be back!

I took my wife on a trip for a half day with South Adventures as a surprise for her birthday. We were originally do to go to Cachilas, but due to the waves not being safe, Ricardo took us to a beach about 20/30 minutes away which was absolutely perfect! It was a sun trap, really quiet, and the local restaurant let us store our stuff whilst we were paddling. The boards were great quality, as were the wetsuits. We are both pretty good at paddle boarding, but Ricardo ensures that we knew where to paddle and double checked safety measures. We had an amazing day, we would highly recommend using South Adventures, it was a brilliant experience and a must do if you’re into SUP or surfing.

My wife and I took surfing lessons with South Adventures. We had no prior surf experience before this. The first 2h session was taught by Antonio and there one one other person in the group. Antonio was really professional and was constantly in the water with us, giving instructions and helping us to catch the waves. Surfing is very difficult but we both managed to get up on the board and ride small waves. The next day we tried kite surfing together with Ricardo, the owner of South Adventures. Ricardo is probably one of the most experienced instructors in Portugal and we’re very happy that we had the chance to learn from him. During a 3h session we trained how to control the kite (and not the other way around) without going into the waster. That would have been the theme of the next 3h session. Therefore, we recommend all to do at least two or three 3h sessions to really get the real kite surfing experience. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for more than one session due to bad planning. We’re both very happy to have tried surfing and kite surfing in Lissabon. We’ve found a new hobby and something we’re going to keep doing whenever possible. Thank you Ricardo and Antonio!

Since minute one Ricardo transmits trust that will make your kitesurfing learning experience honest and transparent, confident and fun! Ricardo has dedicated his life for the sport, competed in professional competitions and started with the sport in 1997 when it was nothing even close to popular! His experience in kitesurfing is the best source of knowledge to suck in your very first times with the kite. I immediately saw my safety is crucially important to him from minute one, so he could easily make me - a total lightweight - feel confident with the kite. And BTW if you are lucky and you hit the right spot he's the best god damn storyteller in Portugal!

My friend and I had a great beginners lesson in KiteSurfing. Ricardo picked us up at our hotel and took us to the beach. We learned the basics of handling the Kite and after our 2 hours, we went from dangerous novice to learned novice. We still have a lot to learn, but Ricardo provided an excellent, knowledgeable (and safe) environment. Thank you Ricardo!

I had a perfect SUP private session! The Lokahi wave board worked out just right, Ricardo had the best ideas to improve paddling technique, wave catching and riding! Super friendly and motivating atmosphere! It couldn’t have been a better Sunday. Can’t wait to be back in Lisbon to take my next lesson. Thank you Ricardo! Keep it up!

Ricardo is a great person and superteacher. I spent a day with him learning surf and it was great. The beach is wonderful and he picked me up at the hotel, he provided all the equipment and he brought me back for a very honest price.
