Day Tour from Malindi to Robinson Island and Marafa Hell's Kitchen
My family did the tour from Malindi to Robinson Island and Marafa Hell's Kitchen. We were picked up from our resort. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride through the various towns to get to Robinson Island. We saw how salt from the Indian Ocean is harvested, we crossed a bridge, looked down into the river below and saw hippopotamus in the river, there were several traffic jams with cattle and goats crossing the roads. The canoe ride crossing to get to Robinson Island was loads of fun because the gentleman ferrying the passengers sings African songs the entire trip there and back. The seafood lunch was very good. There is enough time spent on the island to walk down to the beach to splash in the Indian Ocean. We visited Marafa Hell's Kitchen late in the day to avoid the excessive heat of the canyon. The canyon is absolutely beautiful. It is amazing that the canyon formations are sand and not rock, as I have thought. You can not be frighten of heights to take the walk down into the canyon. The walk back out if quite a hike. We had an amazing full-day of activities and was conveniently dropped of back at our resort in time for our 7:00pm dinner reservation.

          Amazing Hells Kitchen
An amazing place of its own, formed due to geological effects of the world. Both soft and hard-stones eroded by wind, rain and torrents forming Deep gorges and long Chimneys - I deal during sunset view.

Stay away from captains that are unable to operate a boat!
We had booked the Sea Safari in a glass bottom boat including a lunch, as described here on Tripadvisor. Our first unpleasant surprise we had when we discovered that the boat actually did not have a glass bottom. We were about 25 or 30 passengers on the boat, which was in my opinion about 5 too many. There was not enough room on the lower deck to offer all passengers a seat. The first part of the trip was out in the open water for some dolphin sights. We did spot some dolphins, but we had to return to shallow water when some of the passengers became seasick in the rough waves. When heading towards the calm water in the shallow streches close to the beach, the captain steered the boat into the surf. Right at the spot where the waves broke, he went parallel to the waves - so we found ourselves right in the surge of waves, and finally a huge wave broke into the boat. We had the impression that the boat almost capsized, besides the fact that everybody on the waveside got soaking wet, including bags with cameras, cellphones etc got soaked. After that we had plenty of water in the boat, which added to our overload. This was the point in time when we wondered about lifevests - of course there were none. Further on our desastrous ride we got stuck on a sandbank in the shallow water. Passengers had to get out and push the boat. We managed to get the boat free about three times, but each time the captain manoeuvered the boat into even shallower waters (during outgoing tide). Finally the boat got stuck so badly that we could not get it free again, so we had to evacuate. All adults had to leave the boat and walk through the shallow water onto a sandbank where we waited to get picked up by another boat with less draught. This sounds easier than it was, since most people had only flipflops, and we had to go over rocks and corals, with plenty of sea urchins. Smaller children and a few women without proper shoes remained in the boat to get rescued by the other boat directly, they only had to walk about 150 m after all, while the rest of us stumbled over the rocks for at least one hour. The good thing about the new boat was that it had a glass bottom (though so dirty that one could not see anything) and the benches were a bit more comfortable than the ones on the first boat. From that point on, with everybody soaking wet, with sore feet and mostly very exhausted, it could have gotten better only - one would think. Unfortunately when we finally reached the spot for snorkling and watching the magnificent fauna at the coral reefs, the wooden ladder to get back into the boat broke. Getting back into the boat now became a nightmare, and I hurt my leg quite significantly during this procedure. The lunch later on was quite nice, so was the folklore dancing show that was presented after lunch. Still, that day held way too much adventure for our taste, and we felt seriously in danger during some moments. Unfortunately during these moments, and while being evacuated, nobody bothered to talk to us and give us proper instructions. The operators spoke Italian, as 80% of the passangers were Italian, but English information was more than sparse. Just to put this right: the Marine Park is gorgeous, and absolutely worth exploring. The lunch was good as well, the entire tour could have been lovely. But after all you are going in a vessel on the sea, and that bears risks and requires some skills that our boat operator apparently did not have. If you go there, make sure that you are in a proper boat that is not overloaded, with a skilled captain, with an additional guide who watches out for shoals (as done by all the other boats there). Ask for lifevests, and make sure that the staff communicates properly. If all these preconditions are met, you will have a lovely day.

Our Amazing Trip to Kenya whit IN2KENYA SAFARI Whit Samuel Giovanni! First class safari and service!
We wanted to use a local operator rather than one of the home travel agents and went with IN2KENYA given their good ratings here on tripadvisor. Samuel Giovanni is the boss and was able to put together a great itinerary for us, a couple, 2 daughters and son. Samuel collected us in the airport and dropped us off, and also took us round Nairobi for a day. Why a safari? If you are uncertain about taking this kind of vacation, rest assured - it will be the trip of a lifetime. We spent our 10 days safari in Kenya. We visited Masai Mara, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Lake Bogoria, Amboseli NP, Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Kenya a land that is so diverse - from forests to lava flows, from deserts to swamps, to crystal clear springs and beautiful plains - most within sight of one another. The animals are so plentiful and majestic. We lost count of the number of elephants, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, impala, gazelles, klipspringers, kudus, gerenuks, monkeys, baboons, mongoose, warthogs, buffalo, wildebeests, hippos, did-diks, topi, eland, reedbucks, waterbucks, hyena and jackal, black and white rhino. We saw over 60 lions and 6 cheetah. And were amazed at how they coexisted and served their own unique roles in the ecosystem. Samuel and driver Salim, know the area so well that they were able to find all of the beautiful animals in their native habitat for us to view up close. And what great pictures we were able to take of these gorgeous creatures of all sizes. All of our accommodations were very nice and comfortable. Contrary to what a few friends believed, It was never a scary or daunting experience. Instead it was awe-inspiring and eye-opening : a whole new world to those of us cloistered in our cities and suburbs. Safari is also a very freeing, "in the moment" experience - you think only of the beauty surrounding you and absorb as much as you can. It's both exciting and calming. They assured our every comfort, while happily sharing their vast knowledge of the tribal cultures, the animals, and the history of the diverse Kenyan land and people. Thanks IN2KENYA, thanks Samuel Angore, this trip wasn’t simply a “visit” to Kenya, but an incredible “Experience”; full of excitement, adventure, top notch accommodation, amazing activities, and new friends. From customizing a private itinerary, to the unsurpassed attention to detail thru 10 days of travel, this team ensured a 5 star experience where customer service surpasses every expectation. I would highly recommend in2kenya Safaris and hope to take another safari with him in the future! Bernard & family

          safari at Tsavo Est
The Driver was excellent. He did also the guide in the park. what did not work was the return from the park to the hotel. As the organization substituted without preventively told us the jeep with a dirty small bus poorly maintained and that had a wheel down and we had to wait an hour to change it in the middle of the road. This was not nice.

A day of light-heartedness and joy. Raimondo, the guide, always present, highly prepared, patient and available, did not spare himself to ensure that each of us was at ease. Excellent spoken Italian. Lovely places, fresh and well cooked food. Highly recommended
