About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- P3719RVkeithm0 contributionsLess safari, more road trip!Driver was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. It was less a safari and more a drive around the roads in the Camargue. We stopped twice on the trip, once near some Camargue horses and once in a field of bulls. The wine at the tasting was good. Overall, not quite worth the cost.Written 6 September 2024
- S2803WAelaineg0 contributionsGreat tripRequested a guide who could speak English and Jonathan did not disappoint. He is a superb guide and clearly very passionate, informed and a great supporter of culture, traditions and general knowledge of the area. Very extensive tour in the jeep, we stopped several times to take photos and got up close to the horses and bulls. Jonathan relayed some interesting information and clearly enjoyed sharing what he knew and we really enjoyed his company. Stopped for a wine tasting break at a local cave towards the end. A well thought out trip. Booking was easy and accommodating. Would recommend. We were glad to be a group of four in a jeep to ourselves, on a hot day.Written 1 July 2024
- erikabP7220BU0 contributionsGreat guide — gorgeous sceneryCedric was an amazing guide! He was so knowledgeable and took very good care of us on the tour. He knew so much about the birds and the local history. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with him. Would recommend 100%.Written 6 May 2024
- jenniferlX7410LM0 contributionsWarm welcoming guide to a special cultural placeWe had a 3.5 hour trip starting from Aigues Mortes. We saw bulls, horses, a great view of migrating birds and some other special places. We thoroughly enjoyed time with our guide, Sandro, who spoke French slowly enough for us to understand. He is very knowledgeable about the area, the culture and the people. We highly recommend this to others.Written 4 February 2024
- RichardO9550 contributionsNot-so wild horsesAlthough we specifically booked the trip to start in La Grande Motte it took a telephone call to persuade the organisers to collect us there. We asked for an English language guide but most of the commentary was in French with the English translation being much shorter and quite difficult to understand. The vehicle was old and quite uncomfortable. We had to ask for a bottle of drinking water to be provided. Whilst we did see quite a lot of white horses we came to the conclusion that their wildness is a myth; they all appeared to be kept in enclosed fields. The wine tasting towards the end of the trip was pretty decent.Written 3 September 2023
- singer20180 contributionsNot what I had envisionedMy husband and I did this e-bike experience in September 2022. My expectations of the tour, and the reality were a bit different. I had envisioned biking in the remote countryside and seeing wild horses. Instead, we actually were riding quite a bit on city streets, dealing with traffic and my inexperience with an e-bike, compounded by the fairly inadequate brakes on my bike. We also road alongside the river on a dedicated walking/biking path. At times, it was quite nerve-wracking to keep up with the group while waiting for a safe time to cross the street. The over-ear radio devices we were given didn't work well if the group was spread out, and hence at times, we didn't hear instructions of where to turn. Thankfully, we didn't get lost. We saw flamingoes (with buildings in the background), pastured horses, and some fairly young black cattle. It was a fun experience, just not the one that I was looking for. Would I do it again in the Camargue? Probably not, as I would want to get into more remote areas.Written 14 October 2022
- D4972XYjoanl0 contributionsAn in depth tour of the CamargueThis was a fantastic tour! The people who run it are so nice! We saw lots of flamingos, Camargue horses, including some foals, and many Camargue bulls! We drove into a field of the bulls and horses. Our guide explained all about the animals and how they are prepared for the arena "bullfights", He told us about the salt hills and the rice. After our tour, he dropped us off at the train station because we had to walk I highly recommend this tour!Written 24 July 2022
- LievenV1080 contributionsjeepsafari CamargueInteresting to see different things such as salt fields, fortified city of Aigues Mortes, flamigos, white horses and bulls. The guide gave interesting info during the trip. Do not expect to really enter full nature and see horses and bulls in free nature. Most of the trip you stay in the jeep. The last part with wine tasting was nice. The word safari is a bit exagerated, jeep trip should be more in place ;-).Written 1 August 2019
- Fisksk0 contributionsInteresting and a very good guideThe venue was a bit away from the village centerr, but the driver did not mind at all to come and get us at the hotel and to drive us back afterwards. We learned a lot of intresting facts from our enthusiastic driver/guide even though her English might not be perfect. Our's is not perfect either and we found a good level . This is absolutely recommended. You have to do it.Written 30 July 2019
- Boogie w0 contributionsToo much fun!!I don't know what to expect, but wow!! And wow!!the tour was amazing! The wine tasting was incredible, and the bull sausage was delicious. Shout out to Laurence! Thank you for the showing us the unknown world and history of camargue. And you are funny too! Mercy.Written 19 July 2019
- Ed_Maggie3630 contributionsUn Guide ExtraordinairePhil le guide is a passionate about and devoted to the Camargue culture. Her has a deep and rich knowledge of this fascinating area. He has many friends (human and animal) through out the Camargue and you will benefit from those relationships. He offered a compelling introduction to the music, history and culture of the Camargue. He offered great insights into the role that the bulls and horses play in the Camargue culture. He led us through a thoughtfully planned excursion with a special tasting at sunset. Overall, this was a most unforgettable experience. Phil le guide is a large-spririted person with a gift for storytelling and teaching. For us it was a highlight of our trip.Written 27 April 2019
- James H0 contributionsThis YOU must do.Wonderful way to see the Camargue, easy to book, English spoken. Guide/Driver fantastic so knowledgable, we learnt and experienced so much of this fabulous area. Included a stop to taste and buy wine etc. This YOU must do, very happy to recommend.Written 6 October 2018
- Danut U0 contributionsGreat expectationsAvoid having great expectations. In essence this is a simple trip at country side in the Camargue region. You will get very picturesque views but not so spectacular. Our guide was doing everything possible to be funny and welcoming and she was very good informed about the area. We may return another time and explore ourselves.Written 20 August 2018
- An B0 contributionsGreat Camargue SafariIt was a nice ride through the Camargue, with a great guide Valentine, who showed us the nature, animals, ... all little details and stories about the Camargue. The stop at the end was a nice break. Thank you for the lovely morning. A must-do when you are in the neighborhood !!Written 19 August 2018
- Lenore H0 contributionsA wonderful experience....As a family of 4, we had a wonderful morning with Sylvia! She gave us a taste of everything from viewing birdlife; to watching the semi-wild black bulls and white horses of Camargue; to discussing the history of Aigues-Mortes as we toured around the ramparts; to visiting a farm and seeing the local riders/guides;and to tasting local foods and wines. It was a very satisfying and enriching experience as we drove along back roads among the canals, marshes and grasslands where the local animals shared grazing space. Sylvia was delightful, funny, insightful, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She engaged everyone in both French and English. She helped to make the experience even more memorable! Thank you!Written 13 May 2018

We had a sublime time thanks to Anne during our 4×4 Safari to discover the beautiful Camargue region!
We set off for a walk of almost 4 hours on the roads and trails of the Camargue, getting as close as possible to these beautiful white horses and the bulls in the herds.
The little stop tasting local products and wines is a real plus and really completes the excursion.
Our guide, Anne, is a person passionate about her region, she is very attached to it and this can be felt in all these explanations embellished with little anecdotes.
We now know all the secrets (or almost) of the traditions and customs in the Camargue
A great adventure that we will not soon forget!
Thank you again Anne and see you soon I hope.

What a joy this beautiful walk through the Camargue, guided by the wonderful Anne. During more than 3.5 hours of walking, Anne showed us and experienced the Camargue, getting up close and personal with the horses and bulls, ... all with humor, kindness and friendliness. Thank you for this discovery.

Simply brilliant, Alicia knew how to pass on to us her passion for nature and animals. The explanations were clear and I learned a lot (birds, bulls, horses, heritage, salt). The tasting of wines, charcuterie and regional delicacies in a farmhouse was also just top notch. Bravo to Camargue otherwise for this great activity, essential in my opinion, which is well worth the 59€. A must do if you are in the area, but remember to book as it is very popular due to the quality of the excursion. Bravo, bravo, and bravo again!

Objectively, 3/4 of the walk can be done with your own vehicle since we travel on "real" roads that are mostly paved and perfectly accessible to everyone. This is therefore absolutely not the idea we had of a safari in a 4x4 which was an opportunity for us to explore paths that we cannot do with our city vehicle. First disappointment...
Then, of course, these are animals living in their natural environment and for some wild ones and you can be sure that I respect that, but... We are far from being amazed... By quoting you: 1/ The site promises us a sense of wonder at a flight of pink flamingos, so certainly, a flight of pink flamingos is not on order but in all, we saw less than ten flamingos in the water and from the road (objectively , go a few more kilometers and you see much more and much closer). 2/ The site promises us to thrill during a visit to the herd, so don't think that we were looking for thrills but frankly the bulls are so far away that we really risk nothing. So I understand that we are staying on the planned path but then the photos on your site are misleading, not to say false. Finally, the horses where I was hoping for a special moment because they are more used to humans but no... We pass almost without stopping, my 4 year old daughter who was on the opposite side of 'em in his car seat couldn't even see them up close and let's not even talk about petting them. In short, the disappointment only grew throughout the journey.
To the point that I even checked during the walk if I hadn't misunderstood what was offered on the website... But no...
And my disappointment is even greater because I called to find out which was better between the bike and the 4x4 with an 11 year old child and a 4 year old because I wanted them to see as many animals as possible. as close as possible... I was told that by bike we could not approach whereas in 4x4 yes and we could move in the vehicle... I wonder then what we see so by bike... And moving is only possible if you are not strapped into the child seat because as we are mostly on normal roads, the seat is obviously obligatory...
In short... In summary, my feeling: a visit to the vineyard with wine tasting without forgetting a visit to the shop obviously with a few animals in the background from time to time. Note the dilapidation of the children's games and the lack of safety (swing not fixed in the ground). Also surprised by the commercial placement of other activities to do in the region (unusual accommodation for example)...
You will have understood, we are a family disappointed with the experience. We got back in our car and stopped on our way back to look at the Flemish people and see horses which this time we were able to caress and even ride for a few minutes while talking with locals who delighted our children... For 0 euros...
Only recommended for tourists who do not have means of transport to move around on their own and want a quick overview of the Camargue and the surrounding area in a short time...

Sept 2024 • Friends
Yesterday we went on safari but we stayed hungry. We left with Anne very friendly Driver Guide who had no equal to comment on his area We piled up to 9 in a 4x4 where the passengers in the middle had no possibility of movement We saw or saw a large number of manades whose names were quoted to us all the owners (I do not remember any).We would have preferred to see less but enter one and know how it works. We haven't seen a single guardian. We saw a few bulls and a few goats but it is not the Camargue that the advertisements praise us with the large herds. However this walk that was not all negative has a feeling of incomplete circuit We expected more and feel that this service was not worth the 64€ you asked us

This safari is definitely worth it. We discovered the hinterland, the history of the region, the salt marshes, the herdsmen. The tasting break was also very good.
Special mention to our guide Anne who is passionate, and helps us discover the region with anecdotes and humor.
To do without hesitation 👍

We loved this 3.5 hour experience which allowed us to see the Camargue from another angle. We appreciated the explanations from Freddy who was able to share his knowledge with us which showed us that he was a native of the country. He is very attentive, we particularly appreciated his humor, his kindness and his professionalism. We highly recommend this activity

We booked on the trip as we wanted to see more about the Camargue nature and as we were having to travel almost 2 hours from out accommodation we wanted to book with a tour which was more organised than others we could find on the web. Reassuringly, the organisation from that point was good with only a 10 minute change to the departure time which was notified by text. On arrival it was obvious that it was a bigger organised trip as around 8 land rovers were on the mornings excursion. We were allocated to an English speaking guide and there was a very nice Swiss family with us in our 4x4. The tour was a more general familiarisation with the area including the flamingoes, bulls and wild horses and some of the history of the area including the unique vine production.. The wine tasting and food was also really enjoyable without any sales pressure. It was a great familiarisation trip and we’ll done to Romane, out tour guide who was first class at making it fun and informative.

Excellent tour of the Camargue with a super interesting and very friendly guide! Johan taught us a lot of new things that I didn't know even though I'm a native of the region. My daughters had a great time, Maëlys, 20 years old, and Elena, 10 years old, really liked the visit and Johan's very interesting and very clear explanations. A real pleasure to rediscover our beautiful region and its traditions. The tasting was very nice and the Mas du Notaire is a beautiful place. Really great. Thank you very much to Johan for this experience. Best wishes. Vanessa Medan
