- 55_Isi0 contributionsA "must have seen"Goran thank you for the great and interesting explanations. You are explaining all the thing which are worth to know about bees that everyone will remember you. I learned a lot of new things about bees. Thank you!Written 23 July 2023
- Cazathome0 contributionsEnjoyable and enlighteningWe loved the honey farm, 3rd generation dedicated bee keepers who really care about what they do, really enjoyed talking to the owners about their philosophy of beekeeping. Some great varieties of honey and products to try and buy, we came away with quite a lot! I will be sending some honey from our locality in Buckinghamshire, UK. - 0Carol0 contributionsA must do when visiting SoltaWe wanted to visit one of the smaller islands from Split for the day and came across this experience on Tripadvisor. I honestly think it was one of the best things we did while in Croatia. We caught the car ferry over to Solta and were met off the ferry by Goran who drove us up to his home. He was so incredibly friendly that we felt at ease from the start. His enthusiasm for bees is infectious and the talk he gives is very entertaining and fascinating. You don’t have to have any knowledge of bees to enjoy it. Afterwards you get to participate in collecting and preparing your own pot of complimentary honey. Families, couples, single visitors will be welcomed by Goran who simply loves to talk about his bees and share his knowledge. Such a nice man and such a great thing to do!Written 25 May 2022
- LynMcM0 contributionsSave the Bees 🐝We spent a night on our yacht, moored in Rogac, on Solta - also accessible via Jadrolinija ferry from Split - and took the lovely (though steep) walk up to the village of Grohote to meet our friends who had brought bikes on the ferry and had cycled to Maslinica. We met in the ancient village of Grohote and enjoyed the back streets walk to Tvrdic Honey, the “last beekeeper on Solta” - what an informative and entertaining visit we had in an outside seating area (Goran’s “classroom”) and also in the presentation room. We all left with at least one jar of delicious sage or rosemary honey and an informed knowledge of how and why we MUST protect the bees 🐝- go visit Goran & his wife if you can!Written 1 September 2021

- Flynn H0 contributionsA must do experience on Solta islandWe stayed in the B&B they run which has been amazing. The honey experience was so insightful and it’s great to see Gorran’s passion for bees! If you visit solta you must go and experience the bee demonstration and honey tasting. Also if you want to stay on Solta there isn’t a better place to stay than their B&B found on Airbnb. The accommodation is idyllic and the pool area is surrounded by lavender and olive trees. Gorran brought around two pieces of a delicious cherry cake that his wife had made which was amazing. His advise about the island was fantastic. The local restaurant is incredible and walking distance. Hire a moped and see the island!he will pick you up from your apartment and take you to the rental place. Would recommend to anyone!!Written 4 July 2019
- jenniferjV4990UV0 contributionsGive Bees a ChanceGoran and his wife are passionate about their bees and doing their part to make sure bees survive so humans survive. We all learned a lot about the magnificent workings of a bee hive and the importance of protecting our bees. The kids were fascinated!Written 11 June 2019
- Jack S0 contributionsJust wonderful interesting manCame here as part of a group and found Goran was just engaging knowledgeable and is here to talk about the importance of bees and all the products that are produced not just honey. - leftygolfer00 contributionsA fantastic visitWe stopped here as part of our Solta island bike tour. Goran is so passionate about bees and honey. He took the time to explain the whole honey making process. Tasting the different honey he made was also interesting. We loved his map of all of the honey samples he has received from all over the world. We are sending some local honey to him to add to his collection.Written 24 October 2018
- Garrick L Y0 contributionsSurprise Highlight of our Croatia Trip!My wife and I were were struck immediately by Goran - words cannot fully explain his passion and advocacy for bees. We were the only two visiting that day and we fell into a very easy discussion on bees, hive maintenance, and honey production. Goran was enthusiastic, patient, and encouraging - pushing us to seriously consider taking up beekeeping even though we live in NYC. before we knew it, we had spent 3 hours with Goran and hadn't even tasted his honey yet. Spoiler alert, it was delicious. The sage honey was good but the lavender really stood out in its mild and refreshing taste. Then the real treat. Goran had some fresh honeycomb and invited us to taste. Holy jeez was it delicious. It was a shame he didn't have enough to sell. Still, we bought several jars of honey and his special pollen / honey blend. Goran also noticed that my wife had a minor sore throat and gave her a small spray of bee propolis to use. Our visit was the start of a fantastic day on Solta and definitely one of the highlights of our week in Croatia.Written 3 October 2018

Goran and Natasha are incredible hosts! This was a once in a lifetime, unique, fun, and informative experience. We learned so much about bees and the amazing benefits they provide for nature. Without them, we’d all be lost! I highly recommend this tour and please make sure you buy some of their special local products. They put so much love, passion, and care into everything they do.

Amazing and educative experience. We visited Tvrdic honey in august during our stay on Solta island. It was the most interesting thing we did. Mister Goran is very friendly, professional and charming in his exposure. Also he played and learned our 4 years old son how to make a wax candle. The place exudes creativity and its decorated with originality. We highly recommened to visit this beautiful place to feel the love mister Goran has for his job

30 of us were riding bikes around the island and we took a slight detour to enjoy this. The owner was very informative and was quite humorous while teaching us about his honey bees and their value. Lots of goodies to shop for inside their store. Definitely stop and see this!

The tour itself was a delightful and enlightening experience. Goran and his wife Nataša are the embodiment of passion and knowledge when it comes to beekeeping. With three generations of honey-making under their belt, the stories and insights they shared were both fascinating and heartwarming. As a fellow beekeeper, I found a kindred spirit in Goran. Our discussions were rich and engaging, and he generously offered to stay in touch, extending his expertise for any future bee-related queries or challenges I might face.

Our bike tour stopped here as it was near the top of the hill. I thought that I knew most things about bees, but what a surprise! Goran gave a great energetic presentation, and taught our group so much. We had such a great time that our bike guides had to cut us off and send us back on the road. Tvrdic Honey is definitely worth a stop. For me it was the highlight of Šolta!

This is a wonderful and informative program good for people of all ages. A third-generation beekeeper explains the importance of honey bees, how they are kept and why they are different from wasps. I leaned much during this visit from our charming, and frequently funny host.

It is not often we encounter an experience as special as this one. Not only was Goran charismatic and informative he was also hilarious! A very special and kind soul, the passion that the family have for saving the bees was nothing short of inspirational!
We learned so much about honey, propolis, polin and royal jelly. The talk was so engaging and interesting.
Goran's outlook on life and nature was something me and my partner also shared, it was very special to have such insightful conversations.
Give bees a chance! (Also booo to the flying A hole wasps)

We did our last ride of our boat and bike tour this morning. Under 20km on the island of Šolta. It was quite beautiful. The highlight was a stop at the top of the island where we had a very informative and very entertaining presentation by a third generation Beekeeper named Goran.
Goran identified the vital importance of bees, especially honey bees to the survalival of our planet. He had us laughing a lot with his entertaining, though well grounded, factual presentation. If you make it to Šolta make sure you visit. Buy some of their wonderfulproducts and take in this amazing, informative and fun presentation...

This was by far our best experience in our Croatian (Split) adventure.
Our host was kind, considerate and passionate about his life with his honey bees on Solta. He engaged with our two sons, aged 9 and 11, with humour and an intensity for his subject that transfixed the children and provided them with so much knowledge and enthusiasm that they will carry with them back in the UK.
