About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- A3682QBchristianm0 contributionsRocio = the passion of Spain and FlamencoDuring our two weeks in Spain, my family (wife and three teens) all agree that our time in Vejer would easily rank as the most wonderful due to our time with Jose and Rocio. If you visit Vejer, it will be so much more meaningful if you can spend time with them both. We took Jose's walking tour of Vejer and ended at their beautiful home on their terrace overlooking this quaint whitewashed village and with sweeping views to the Strait of Gibraltart and northern Africa. Rocio's passion for her flamenco art and her grace were apparent every moment we were in her presence, all experienced on the terrace. Rocio was captivating and our time with her was engaging and magical. She also made delicious tapas for us. Now that we have returned home to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, I can say without a doubt that this was the very best part of our 2+ weeks in Spain.Written 16 June 2023
- Sean F0 contributionsAmazing Experience!!I have seen Flamenco dancing before but never tried it. We thought it would be fun to attempt, so we singed up. We are very happy we did!. We were on a cruise and Cadiz was a port of call. The lessons are about 35 minutes away by taxi. Depending on how much time you have in port, if on a cruise, this is totally doable. Our instructor was Rocío. She is a former professional Flamenco dancer who danced at the Ballet of Seville and now teaches. Upon arrival Rocio and her husband welcome you into their home and escort you onto their deck which overlooks the beautiful city they live in, the ocean and Africa on a clear day. Be ready! This is a physical activity but dont worry about about doing good, you arent supposed to! Just follow Rocío and have fun! She will explain the Flamenco dance to you and then its time to start. Your hour lesson will fly by as you dance and spin under Rocío's careful eye and you will be better at it then when you arrived , trust me. We only had a short time with Rocío but I wish it was more, you will too. Absolutely amazing experience, if you have the time dive into Spanish culture and experience Flamenco from a true professional!Written 6 November 2022
- Kaitlyn B0 contributionsAWESOMEJosé's tour was by far one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. He is a history buff who knows the depths of his town like the back of his hand. I highly recommend this tour. He was very knowledgeable and brought so much interesting detail and context into a tour of what, at the outset, appears to be a small town. (We did the tour in Spanish, but he also does it in English.)Written 13 December 2021
- JMAM2010 contributionsIncredible people and passionate guideAll expectations were met; both the treatment of the guide, his knowledge and the organization of the day. The visit to the spectacular town, and the food at the SUMIA Arab Restaurant to repeat. Thank you.Written 22 November 2019
- podom0 contributionsAmazing and DiferentRocio takes us to the Museum of the Inquisition and explains how to expel Muslims, Jews, Gypsies and African slaves, they meet at night and start singing. A flamenco is a landless farmer; Arabic word. Then we went to the show inside the own environment. Although you can buy the ticket for free, the explanation and the rest was unbeatableWritten 21 November 2019
- podom0 contributionsAmazingSpectacular dance teacher; pleasant, pleasant and patient. He taught us how to dance Sevillanas and some rumba steps. Then we learned the history of the birth of flamenco and the influence of the Inquisition in the museum. Then a delicious beer and tapa.Written 20 November 2019
