          Great jungle experience
The tour was a great experience, very authentic and really close to nature. We spent a great time although there were some small inconveniences in the tents (tip: take your own pillow) our guides made their best to help out, very nice and professional - big thanks to Fernando and Haikal - you are the best, guys! Also thanks to the jungle cook who prepared our delicious food :)

Welcome to the jungle my friend :)
Amazing trip - 100% worth it - don’t go to Sumatra and miss this. We saw orangutans already on the first day, 5 of them and then on the 2nd day we saw several black gibbons. We heard them and they then started to come closer so our guide brought us closer to them. Our tour guide was Slamat and with his team, he made us feel so comfortable, such a lovely team, they did not know what to make to make us happy. The rafting at the end of the trip is a great experience with breathtaking views of the jungle.

          Would recomend.
I really enjoyed this trek. Having booked the three day trek I was hopeful that we would get the chance to see Orang-utans at some stage... but we got pretty lucky and saw many with the first after just half an hour. We also saw black gibbons, peacocks and many types of monkey. The guides Ian and Deddy were fantastic at spotting the wildlife that we otherwise would have missed, and also entertaining us in the evenings with magic tricks. The accomodation was basic, but exactly what you would expect on a jungle trek, and the food was amazing and plentiful throughout.

          Awesome trekking experience!!!
I had an awesome experience with “Bukit Lawang Tour”. I did the 3D/2N trekking tour. The entire organisation of the trip was excellent. Thanks Dieki for answering all my questions in advance, for letting me change my dates and for organising airport pick up for me! The group was small (5 people) and our 2 amazing guides Nabil and Dandy made that trip very special. They have a great knowledge about the jungle and of course about the orangutans and explained a lot to us. Also they are spreading such a positive energy which made the entire group very happy. We saw many orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons and some other kinds. The food was extremely delicious (thanks to the chef!) and in the evenings we enjoyed playing card games and even did a bonfire at the river. Awesome! I highly recommend this tour and hope to come back one day. Thanks again and all the best for you guys. You rock💚

Book with this company! Great experience
Had this tour company recommended to me several times through other solo travellers I met and Dieki made everything so so easy for me, arranging for airport pick up and accommodation and even my onward travel to the next city. The tour itself was great, the tour guides, Selamet and Haikal really went above and beyond. On the first day we saw around 15 organatans and a peacock. We got to the camp and played cards whilst there were organatans above us. The food was really great too and being veggie they accommodated the food for me too. That rafting back was great fun and gave really good views of the jungle we had hiked through earlier. Definitely book with this company if you are doing jungle trekking in bukit lawang, they really take care of you and even gifted me a little keyring to take home.

          Revitting and Excellerating yet Affordable
Revitting, exhilarating and Raw with guides like Selamat and Haikal who knew how to track the Orangutans, Peacocks, etch. We were sometimes alone with Orangutans before other groups found us. After we had a good observations, our guides share the info guides. Good food, good pace, affordable and one night overnight at camp. I also enjoyed the tube ride back down river to my Junia Guesthouse which Deiki recommended.

          10/10 Book this tour
I had an amazing trek with Dimas as our guide. We took the trek at our own pace and had plenty of breaks. Dimas carried loads of fruit for us so we were never hungry. Dinner ranged from curry, to nasi goreng, to ramen and there were tea/coffee with biscuits at camp also. Throughout our trek we saw orangutans, gibbons, pigtail macaques, hornbills, a Komodo dragon, and loads of other animals. There are so many different treks you can take in Bukit Lawang, save yourself the hassle and book this one. I couldn’t it recommend more.

          Great team! Greater experience!
we had an excellent experience with Dieki and his team, our guides were incredible, Amri and Haikal were very knowledgeable on the area and showed us to many orangutans and other wildlife while also being very kind and looking after us the whole way through the trip with great food from Mr malem and plenty of stops if we needed a break. The whole process was very smooth and you can trust Dieki and his team to deliver what they promise. 👍

          Unbelievable jungle experience
Our trio could not have been any better. Our tour guide Fernando always made sure we were seeing as much wildlife as possible whilst still making sure we were safe. If you are in Indonesia, do not give this trip a miss!

5 days and 4 nights jungle trek!
Let’s jump straight into it! Me and a good friend from the Netherlands loved the Jungle trip so much. It was just the two of us for 5 days and the jungle trek team. This is what made it such a great experience: 1. The organizer - Diekie Diekie is a very relaxed and helpful guy who made us fully trust that we were in good hands. Him being very easy to communicate with and again being extremely helpful. Not only sorting out the details for the trek itself, but also help sorting out other practical questions regarding our trip on Sumatra. Special shoutout to Katherine who we had good conversation with and treated us to a very good Indonesian lunch. Serving a very well selfmade rendang! Also calling out Sandy who works at Salju Coffee and is a barista master! Salju coffee is a place for great coffee and food and for us being the place to start and end the trekking experience. 2. The jungle trek trek team I’ve never met such strong people who made it possible being out there in the jungle for 5 days. Carrying all the equipment and food! Fernando was our jungle leader and guided, supported and took good care of us. His enthusiasm stood out so much. Ipen was the cook, fisherman and strong as the hulk. Many hours were spent by Ipen by the fire, resulting in delicious food made from scratch. Lek Giros is a very strong man! Not only strong as so much a kind man with a very contagious smile! Agus also was a great contributor to make this trip a succes! All of these great people took good care of us throughout the trek serving for example fresh fruits, hot and cold beverages and freshly made breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed their sense of humor, fun and positivity. Playing games in the evening and singing songs. Missing the jungle songs already! So a big thank to each one of these guys! 3. The trek itself Day one we went through a parts where more tourists are looking out for the orang-oetang. The following days we felt secluded and got soaked in by jungle, making it a unique experience! I’ts challenging! So expect to climb hills, walk and move through the water (make sure you have some footwear that can be used in the water and has some grip. Then switch to footwear for dry land. Clothes to cover your body, so think long trousers and long sleeve t-shirts could help you protect you from sun, mosquito’s or even a leech. We went out at night to see fish being catched by Ipen and being fried for breakfast the next day. Delicious! We were lucky to see 2 orang-oetangs, one with a small baby. Also we saw birds, a peacock, lizards and some other small creatures. 4. Rafting back to Bukit Lawang This experience was so much fun! 2 hours of going down the river. Expect to get wet and a thrill ride with some bumpy parts, making it a very exciting. I would definitely recommend taking a tour with Bukit Laway-tours!

          Trek de 4 jours/3 nuits
We made our reservation from France. Dieki was available and very attentive. We spent 4 days and 3 nights in the jungle with our two teenagers aged 13 and 14. The hiking trails were challenging but still accessible. We were able to observe Ourangutans, monitor lizards and several other species up close. The fruits and meals served during the hikes were always very good and in sufficient quantity. The campsites were located on the banks of the river (and a small waterfall for the last day) which allowed us to cool off after a great day of effort. The amenities on the campsite are basic but designed for minimum comfort in a wild place. We were accompanied by a wonderful team who were very attentive. The breakfasts were designed to provide us with the energy we needed before the hikes and the innate foods were delicious, plentiful and varied. We were able to discover local specialties not on restaurant menus. The entertainment was also very successful both in the forest (to help us discover the fauna and flora) and on the campsite (multiple games for everyone, ...). A huge thank you to our guide Cici and his assistant Anto, to the guide of the second group who did part of the trek with us Fernando and his assistant Bembeng, to the cooks Bandot and Suria and to the excellent tube rafting driver.

We went to Sumatra to do the trekking to see the orangutans for 1 night and 2 days. From the first moment the treatment from the whole team has been great. The experience of the trekking has been magnificent in which we have been able to see all kinds of animals, especially the orangutans. We want make a speciam mention to the guides "chichi" and Fernando, who took care of us very well and who are great people.

Our experience with this company was exceptional! We only booked the one day ‘chicken trek’ as we didn’t have all the equipment needed and we were on a tight budget, but we wished we’d stayed longer in the jungle! Our tour guide Arman was an absolute gem, super funny, knowledgeable and spoke fluent English, french and Indonesian which is just crazy! He’s also really good with kids, making them feel at ease and keeping them entertained! The lunch was super yummy too. We only walked for 5/6 hours and we saw 8 orangutans, 2 of them being younger than 1 years old, such and amazing day! The tubing back to Bukit Lawang was also such fun, the river is so nice&refreshing. Our guide but also the company & their other local guides were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

My wife and I had such an amazing time with Dieke and Johnny in Bukit Lawang.

Both of them are such knowledgeable guides and extremely trustworthy and punctual.
We used Dieke for 3 transfers and also 2 separate days of trekking - everything was seamless, and above and beyond what we expected.
Could not recommend Dieke and Johnny more!
        Thanks so much both!

This was probably our favorite tour in our 6 month travels in Asia. The people in Bukit Lawang are so friendly and the place is simply amazing. You get to see monkeys all around and of course the orangutans. We were very lucky, we got to see around 10 different orangutans, some mothers with their babies and even some big macho orangutan. We also saw other monkeys I don't remember the names but it was fantastic and very thrilling. I can't wait to go back and this time I will make sure to spend more time in this place that is just wonderful. Plus the food is so good ! It's also very ecofriendly and the locals respect nature and are well aware that it's important to take care of the place and respect it. The guitar sessions at night with the guides made the adventure even more special :)

We booked this online because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint! Our guide, Deiki, was so knowledgeable and we managed to see 8 orangutan’s! We were so fortunate but we had an amazing day and after a full trek, the tubing was so much fun and a refreshing way to cool down after a hot day. We highly recommend wearing long trousers, taking bug spray and wearing trainers or hiking boots if you can though.
The lunch provided was delicious and refreshing with pineapple and passion fruit and bananas along with some egg fried rice and vegetables.
I would highly recommend this trek!

I went with 2 friends on this day tour. We had an amazing time and saw around 5 orangutans within the first couple of hours.

Our guides were fantastic and even gave us some local fruit and a delicious rice lunch.

We even saw some gibbons as an added bonus. To top of a great day, we rafted down the river which was an absolutely fantastic experience.

Furthermore, our tour contact Dieki, provided us with lots of hassle-free transport at discounted prices not just to and from Bukit Lawang but also organised a trip to Lake Toba afterwards.

Our experience with Bukit Lewang-Tours was brilliant from start to finish. We used whatsapp to contact Dieki who was very helpful and gave us all the information we wanted. We decided on a Full Day Jungle Trek and Deiki even arranged our transfer from Medan airport to Bukit Lewang the evening we arrived. The next day we met Deiki and our guides Mershy and Jhony at 9AM and set off into the Jungle. Mershy and Jhony were great guides, looking after the four of us who were on the tour. They were knowledgeable, great fun and made everyone feel very safe. We saw Orangutans close to the village within the first couple of hours and then found more throughout the day. We also saw several other types of ape/monkey and ate some really good fresh fruit and Nasi Goreng during our breaks and lunch.
We loved the trek so much we booked another full day trek for the following day and had no regrets. If you want to see fantastic wildlife with knowledgeable and responsible guides in Bukit Lewang choose this company.

Had an amazing day with our guide Nang Nang. Very nice guy, English very good and he likes to crack some jokes. Very helpful during the hike if it gets a bit too difficult. We saw 8 orangutan’s and it was amazing. Felt very safe with the guide as well. Lunch was provided and was very good as well. Lots of fruits and nasi goreng.

On the way back we decided to take the tubes on the river which was very fun for IDR 400.000 Extra. Very refreshing after 5-6 hours of hiking.

During the jungle trek, I had an amazing time seeing different animals, especially orangutans, as well as interesting insects and plants. Our guide, Kiting, was really friendly and always ready to answer any questions we had. He also taught us about the different uses of plants. It was a great experience!
